Point of fact: The 1% is per pellet. This translates to an effective crit rate of (0.99 ^ 15 = 0.86 non-crit) 14%. I've also noticed that if ANY pellet crits, ALL pellets crit, in my experience at least. An improvement of 20% crit on the 1% base would raise this to an effective 16.6% crit rate (0.988 ^ 15 = 0.834), which is almost what a 20% straight increase would be (14% * 1.2 = 16.8%). So I don't believe improving crit is a detriment for this shotgun, or indeed any shotgun. So a focus on weak point, when most of the pellets won't be hitting that weak point except on a colossus, seems disingenuous.
@@kream5429 Well, simple math is 1-(1-p)^n, where p is the odds of something happening, and n is the number of times doing the thing. p is a 1% chance (0.01) with n being 15 pellets per shot. Using Smithereens and Subconsciousness I've seen crit rates far better than the 1-2% odds they purport. Another thing to consider is Shell Up gives a 30% increase as well, so you'd go from 15 to 19 pellets, which means 14% to 17(.4)% from that alone. Combined with a modest 20% increase to crit rate again and you get 20% crit rate in total And yes, I do run around with a Smithereens as a mobbing weapon. Enzo basically means you have infinite heavy ammo. >D

@@kream5429 Well the other ammo->high-impact rounds mods work well for getting your ammo count up. I agree it won't help as much with weenies, but it'll still serve well against the elites you come across. But as Enzo (or with an Enzo in your group that is built to Perfect Support often, and uses it consistently) you basically can use a shotgun as a primary. I've come to enjoy Enzo lately for exactly this reason.
So, just for anyone considering maxing this. Putting one lvl into it's unique ability takes the 10% accuracy for your stack to 100%. The 6th shot proc also becomes a lot stronger as duration and the firearm atk X % multiplier goes up. I was hoping testing would be a bit more in depth as the 10% to 100% in just one lvl threw me for a loop. I also had a bug of some sort where the DPS number was around 800k and then I changed nothing as far as I know and it went to 400K. Turns out that the DPS change was from Strengthen First Shot. I was used to golds not changing the number.
Definitely waiting for changes in the Shotgun class before investing anything into it. Great overview tho! Waiting for the Super Secret Garden! Maxing this puppy out was a breeze and it's a nutty crit weapon even without the unique ability!
No such purple mod in the game called "Weak Point Sight." There is a "Weak Point Sight" blue mod. No clue if that was removed from the game or changed. Just doesn't exist.
i maxed mine out, it needs a buff but its in such a weird spot where the slightest thing could turn this thing into a absolute nuke. if its passive becomes additive, thats too much. if its crit or weak point damage become too much, that also might be too much. idk
also, on valby or blair, run 2 atk, 2 electric, 2 crit damage aand 2 weak point damage mods with shell up and personally i do an ammo pick up mod because its cheap for space
That might be solved by addressing Shotguns globally. The ult shotguns want you to hit all pellets, so accuracy becomes weirdly important, but the range is really bad so you want to be on top of whatever you are shooting which makes handling a bit more difficult. They could give a slight accuracy and range buff to shotguns to make them more usable across the board. Mine is maxed as well and while the shock proc can deal some damage it is so underwhelming for a gun based on the Executioner. Give my max stack shot chain lightning or turn it into an energy beam or something instead of a status that Bunny can inflict just by sneezing.
Shotguns are complete garbage in the game. I think most would agree they need a significant bump. You can’t put weapons these weak in a thr low Ammo heavy rounds slot. It’s actually shocking how bad a decision it was
For me i find this way more fun than the rocket build with Gley and i've been able to do similar amounts of damage with equal investment (no activators or catalysts on vestigal or executor yet)
@@zorindvoid2265 With how low the falloff range is, you'd also be specifically forced to aim at the leg weak points, which have a naturally lower modifier than shoulder or core weak points. It's a difficult use case for Interception Battles but could work. This game is currently still in a non-powercrept state where anything you want to use is surely usable, and shotguns are due for a buff anyway.

@@Mandingy24 obviously minimal unless shotgun get really good buff. You can ignore weak point damage and save catalyst for some other things.
