    It’s been a while since I’ve seen him, but I recall his She Hulk video was pretty bad. He’s the type of guy who listened to Dan Slott saying the show is “comic accurate” when he only points to the recent runs than the older runs that people point to the most.
    Heck I’ll say it here, Itsagundam deserves more credit given he actually read through the Savage She-Hulk run for his coverage of the Disney+ show, the guy actually made me like Frog Man more than how he was treated in the show.

    Liking or disliking a movie is completely fine but the problem is that Cosmonaut usually tends to be rude when someone else has a different opinion and doesn’t explain why he’s right and the other person is wrong, like when someone commented that they think Revenge of the sith is better than all the sequels and he just said “Yeah…if you’re an idiot” and basically didn’t elaborate, might’ve been a joke but from what I know he tends to rude when it comes to opinions he doesn’t agree with

    • @bryon5471
      @bryon5471 2 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      You wanna know why revenge of the sith is the best out of the prequels is because it sucks the least, it is the least boring and has the most interesting plot points. I tried to watch phantom menace again not to long ago but it made me fall asleep because of how long and fuckin boring it is. And attack of the clones is barley better only because it has like 4 or 5 scenes that are interesting. Revenge of the sith is the best out of a line up of shitty prequels because it focuses less on the stupid shit and instead focuses on cooler shit

    • @bryon5471
      @bryon5471 2 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      And if you wanna talk about the new sequels they made, I would say the first one they made (forgot what it's name is) is the best one. But that's not really saying much sense it's pretty much just a new hope but with Ray. And if the best movie out of the sequel trilogy is just a glorified remake of A New Hope then I will confidently tell you that revenge of the sith is more interesting and more hype than the sequels will ever be. Name me one scene from the sequel trilogy that is more dope than the final fight in revenge of the sith between anikin and Obi-Wan

    Little did we know that Marcus would be one of many creators here on TH-cam who would set the precident for bad media criticism.
    Firstly, Marcus' tone of voice and presentation is all implying the mentality of "I have the controversial opinion, therefore I am smart than the majority". What's worse, is Marcus's arguments are more about whats and concepts, than the whys or working used to come to those conclusions, because he feels as if he need not justify his beliefs, because to him, they aren't beliefs, they're facts.
    Secondaly, Marcus is both reckless and specific with his diction, this being on of his many inconsistent arguments. This is something Shady Durags and Just A Robot covered in their response to Marcus' review of She-Hulk: Attorney at Law. Marcus both flippantly uses terms and words in anyway he sees fit, even when previously he states precisely what he means when he says terms like "vocal minority".
    Additionally, Marcus is also a surface level fan, not just of Star Wars, but fiction in general. When defending She-Hulk or criticising Jojos Bizzare Adventure Part 5, he will only explore the series from a surface level, he doesn't dive deep into what the events of the plot mean. As you said he wants them to be "dumb and simplistic"
    Finally, Marcus constantly misrepresents the media he is talking about and the critiques and complements to said media. He is more than welcome to enjoy whatever he can, the issue is Marcus is arguing their OBJECTIVE quality not the SUBJECTIVE enjoyability

      You’ll probably say that there were books and comics set after the original trilogy but those aren’t cannon and never were and George Lucas especially never thought they were cannon and he’s the one that sold Star Wars so that others could make movies and the movies he did make before selling Star Wars were also bad (the prequels)

      @@JOVONO I don’t mind changes either (to any story, sequel, or adaptation), but what happened with both BvS and TLJ is that the changes either don’t improve the characters or don’t make sense.
      When I said that Marcus would not criticize the last Jedi for doing exact same thing/not portraying characters properly, I wasn’t referring to the books or comics (or saying that the movies should be more like them), I was referring to the previous movies.
      We saw Luke standing up to Vader without killing him, thinking there was still good in him even though Vader was pretty much the second most evil person in the galaxy, but with Kylo Ren all of the sudden he just decided to kill him even when he was nowhere near as bad as Vader. And yes I understand that Luke may have changed in 30 years, but the movie should’ve shown that. It should’ve shown us why and how he changed, not just turn him into something he isn’t. The Last Jedi isn’t consistent with the previous films and why I think Luke isn’t portrayed properly.
      I called Marcus a hypocrite because he believes that there are things you shouldn’t do with Batman (like making him kill) when adapting source material, but when it came to making sequels with Luke, all of the sudden that same logic didn’t matter. As if consistency doesn’t matter when making a sequel, but somehow does when making an adaptation.
      In my opinion, consistency is one of the most important things when making sequels. If you don’t have that, the whole thing falls apart and will look sloppy which is what I saw with TLJ.
      (An inconsistent mess that ignored everything that came before it)
      I would’ve been fine with everything in the movie, but the changes made no sense. It seems like Rian Johnson was only interested in getting a reaction from the fans rather than telling a good story that’s consistent with everything else.
      (And Snyder was only interested in making “Edge Lord Fan-fiction” as Marcus said, rather than making faithful adaptations)

    As a Star Wars fan I can tell you that Star Wars is more than just lightsabers, then space battles, the cool a ton scenes. Star Wars is about the choices we choose to make. And those decisions can either be good or evil. The Sith are fueled by selfish intentions and therefore are never happy and only crave more. True the Dark Side makes then physically powerful, but in terms of spiritual morality they cannot make the hard decisions. However, while the light side may not make a Jedi physically strong it allows him to make the hard decisions and embrace a power beyond his compression. The light allows the user to fully let go of himself and all selfish things to embrace its power. Much like how Christians believe whole heartily in a God which they cannot see, but know He's there and wields a power they too can have access too of they only choose to embrace Him. George Lucas based the Force on God. As someone who read books on George Lucas as a school project and watched a 3 hour long documentary on the man. When you hear George talking about Star Wars you can tell everything in it is from a personal experience. How he explains the Sith, the Jedi, The Force. Good and Evil.

    • @LegioXXI
      @LegioXXI 2 หลายเดือนก่อน +4

      Sorry, but the Christian part is just wrong.
      George Lucas took inspiration from buddhism for the Jedi/Sith than any monotheistic religions, even the clothing style reflects that. George also confirmed this in background interviews.
      This also can be seen with the whole concept of "balance". The force is not a "god", because a god has rules and a will of its own. The force does not, it's merely a tool and it's completely up to force sensitive beings how they use that tool. At least it was before Disney changed everything.
      Binary dogma (like it exists within Christianity) actually gets called out in George Lucas' Star Wars.
      It's actually a huge point of the prequel films and the main reason why the old Jedi Order fell, because they treated their light side as a "god" who cannot be questioned. Luke did it, he rejected the dogma and embraced balance - and therefore redeemed his father, after all the old Jedi failed Anakin.
      If anything, Star Wars is anti-christian because it is anti-dogmatic.
      Balance is the core theme, not submission to the force (or a god).
      I'm afraid you completely missed that point of Star Wars.

Jedi constantly have to hold themselves at a high standard and the Sith always have to sleep with one eye open. Yoda’s lesson to Luke on Dagobah perfectly sums up the deep commitment of the Jedi and how the Dark side is not stronger, just more seductive.
      Even in the kotor games, despite trying to remain grey, you have to chose the light side or the dark side at the end of it all.
      For me, my favorite aspect about Starwars was the Criminal Underworld. Smugglers, Bounty Hunters, Pirates, etc. They all came in different shades of good and evil. Some had a sense of honor and ethics, some were ruthless and would do anything for money.

    I personally think the reason his reviews of the movies he talks about are so inconsistent is because he's a plagiarist.
    All he does is imitate the statements made by other people.
    which could explain why his reviews tend to range from feeling well thought out to being downright moronic.

    Videos like this remind me why in depth breakdowns and citing your sources are so important. This video is generally a cherry picked mess. I think if you instead went though his prequel video and relayed out his points and then criticized them it’d be fine, but this video just takes a few statements, rips them free of context, and then baby rages about them for 5 mins at a time. It’s low level content schlock. At least when people what cosmo he’s joking and having a goofy time so I can enjoy the video regardless of the value of his points. (I do think that his perspective is generally good, i disagree with a lot of different opinions but I at least understand where they are coming from.

If you're going to do another analyzing evil episode or debunking episode, you should do it on Schaffrillas Productions. This guy loves the clone was but hates the prequels and makes himself look like he loves the sequels more than the prequels and constantly uses clone wars to justify everything that didn't need to be justified and is a simp for Dave Filoni.

    So satisfying how the tables have turned now and a lot more people are realizing the prequels are not at all as bad as these circle-jerking haters claimed over the years prior to SW selling to Disney. Prequels are bad because there's politics in them and it makes no sense. Yeah if the politics in the prequels are too hard to understand for you it's probably because you're too stupid considering I was in 2nd grade when me and my friends saw Episode I on VHS and we had no problem understanding what was going on. Clunky dialogue between Anakin and Padme. This one is my favourite since they fail to realize the low-key genius of George when you stop to remember that Anakin was a boy that went from slavery to joining a group that trains you from a young age to inhibit your emotions and Padme who had been thrust from a young age in the midst of the political world. None of them had the luxury of having any romantic experiences until they met again well into their adult years so of course the dialogue is clunky and cringe because that's exactly how two people having their first romantic experience would speak and act.

      What are you even saying?? It’s not the politics that people have a problem with it’s everything
      It’s bad acting, bad dialogue, bad story, bad effects just everything really
      You know the cast of the original movies made fun of George Lucas for decades about his terrible dialogue
      And they still make fun of him for it
      All the bad dialogue was not planned and certainly no act of genius he’s just not good at writing dialogue
      Harrison Ford threatened to tie George Lucas Up and make him read his own words because they were so bad
      Alec Guinness didn’t want to do the movie initially because of the dialogue
      And majority of the people know that the first Star Wars movie was really saved by the editor and then the second and third movies weren’t even directed by George Lucas but the movies that were are the prequels which are all bad

    • @NANA-lt6hd
      @NANA-lt6hd 2 หลายเดือนก่อน +5

      @@JOVONO Without George Lucas there would have been no movie to have to save in the first place. As for the actors feeling like the dialogue was silly was due to the genre of the movie being SF and having a lot of SF-typical wording. Add to the fact that SF as a genre was not respected all that much at the time the movie had been made. Harrison Ford hated the dialogue? Yeah? So what? I wouldn't put too much credence in the opinion of an actor who openly admitted to hate Han Solo and SW, the very character and franchise he owes his entire career to lol Bad special effects? Compared to today's special effects but compared to 1999? Not at all. And the special effects you enjoy today? Go ahead and thank ILM for its contributions to that. Want to know who founded ILM? Some guy that starts with George and ends with Lucas. Maybe you heard of him. You can hate the prequels all you can but at the very least George Lucas, for every mistake he made, it at least came from a place of love for the art of filmmaking, to push its technology and story-telling to the next level, which is more then you can say for today's hacks like your Jar Jar Abrams or Ryan Johnsons.

      @@JOVONO The guy above just gave you an example of people misunderstanding the dialogue and acting they do not like because they do not like the way the character des things as bad, despite being logical and in character. And you proved him right by commenting. Subjective opinion on Anakin conveying emotions does not mean the scene is badly made. It means you do not like Anakin being bad at conveying emotions. It's a serial. You can say "I do not like X", but you can't say "X is bad" based on that.
      Bad special effects? They were pioneering. Are black and white movies bad because they lack color? You enjoy Special Effects because of people like George.
      You mean like Harrison Ford. Did you bother to pay attention to the entire quote. "I was wrong". The guy admits he was wrong. The guy hates his role and wanted it finished way before.
      You bought the "saved in the edit"? It's full of lies and was debunked. Want a doozy? Marica was the one who made the cut that was "panned" by Lucas' friends. Lucas fixed it as Marcia left before the showing for "New York New York". Want to know who debunks your video. The book they tried to quote. You are wrong on all 3 counts for the OT. The director of ep 6 even said that Lucas supervised everything. Proof in the books from multiple people.

    • @NANA-lt6hd
      @NANA-lt6hd หลายเดือนก่อน

      @repairinggood Ironically that's exactly what the sequels did as more and more people are now warming up to the prequels and realizing that, while they are not perfect movies, they are far better than what the so-called critics have said about them over the years. If you want an example, just look at Hayden Christensen, the actor that played Anakin in the prequels, and how much shit he got for his acting in it and how much people hated his portrayal of the character, and now years down the line in the DISNEY era of SW, people were excited for his return as Anakin in Obi-Wan and Ashoka. Again say what you will about the prequels, but at least they told a coherent story over 3 movies, showing the fall of Anakin and the Republic and the rise of Vader and the Galactic Empire while adding more emotional weight and satisfaction to Luke's redemption of his father at the end of TRoJ thanks to knowing his tragic life up until that point. I am sure the same cannot be said about the sequel trilogy.

    He’s certainly got a face for Radio (thumbnail). Any actual Star Wars fan makes reference to the Thrawn Trilogy - because they know how good the sequels were *SUPPOSED* to be. The OT is the Classic Hero’s Journey. The prequels are the Classic Hero’s Failure.

It's about time that he gets the humbling he deserves since he contributed to the George Lucas prequel hate as a means to further his career.
