I’m in my late 50’s now. I thought great melodic guitar forward rock died by the mid 90’s, only because it is no longer promoted in the mainstream and rock radio became‘classic rock’ where you only heard the same old tunes (which I loved on average) to death. Well, I was wrong! I happened to hear Myles Kennedy by accident with Slash about 10 yrs ago. Loved it! Went down the Kennedy rabbit hole, and discovered AlterBridge; which is my favorite band all time now! Awesome 💪❤️
Welcome to the Myles Kennedy rabbit hole. Definitely worth checking out more of his stuff (with Alter Bridge, with Slash, and his solo work). He's by far one of the most talented, humble musicians of today.
I believe it's about leaving someone you love who has an addiction. It speaks to me, I divorced an abusive drug addict many years ago. That feeling of wanting to save someone and finally realizing you can't and that you have to walk away to save yourself. There is a great official video with the whole band as well, but I requested this because I think this performance is the best version. If you remember the band Creed, their front man Scott Stapp left the band in 2004. They hired Myles Kennedy and changed their name to Alter Bridge. A few years later Scott came back and they recorded again as Creed, and Myles did some solo projects. Scott left again in 2012 and Alter Bridge began working together again. I believe Scott came back again last year in 2023. Thanks Zack!
As a fellow recent TW fan, AB is a band that I've supported for two decades. Its another rabbit hole for sure. Welcome to the AB family. Another winner would be anything from the Royal Albert Hall show, with a highlight being "Words Darker Than their Wings". They can bring the heat though, "Fortress", "Ties That Bind". "Waters Rising", and their Stairway to Heaven: "Blackbird". Myles Kennedy is another "alien-level" vocalist
Myles Kennedy has an amazing voice. He could read anything and make it sound spectacular. Alter Bridge is the band Creed but with Myles Kennedy singing. He is also in a band with Slash called Slash featuring Myles Kennedy and the Conspirators
Myles is a awesome singer songwriter. He feels all the music he plays. Alter bridge was a concert worth the the wait. Definitely great performance from him and the band.
Myles Kennedy just released a new solo album a few days ago. I've only listened to the first two songs so far. I've probably only heard a few AB songs, but I love his voice.
He’s talking about leaving someone he loves that he has been there for that person in all aspects. Supporting them and giving everything to them. Yet that person still rejects them and takes them for granted for all those things. So he finally has to leave or they leave him. He’s like OK then who will be there for you when I’m gone because I was the one that lifted you up and gave everything for you. I showed you the love and gave you the support. Yet you throw it away like it was nothing thinking you did it all on your own.
Yeah it’s about being in a relationship with an addict. He has tried but feels he can no longer carry on with the relationship but worries about who will look after her once he has left. One of the best if not the best rock singers today. Alter Bridge is a hard rock band but Myles performs this one acoustically on his own. Please check out Blackbird live from Wembley which will give some background to the song. It’s an emotional but fantastic song.
Try Alterbridge - Blackbird Live ❤ This guy has golden tonsils. Check out Myles Kennedy's solo work too! I think Blackbird makes everyone emotional. The lyrics are just so spot on and then the guitar play by one of the worlds greatest guitarmonsters Mark Tremonti... man.. It will hit you in the feels 🫶🏼 I'm a lucky girl to have witnessed this live quite a few times ❤
@@johnnyadamany Yes, I've heard numerous times that he wasn't in the best of health that night, but hey....my preference is that performance, hope that's okay?
If you were a WWE fan in the early 2000s you might remember Edge's entrance which is their song 'Metalingus'. They are a great rock band who funnily is more popular outside of America. Blackbird is one of the greatest orchestrated songs ever, and hits the feels if you have ever lost someone close to you
He was in the movie Rock Star and did some of the vocals that Wahlberg lip-sinqed to and if you can find it, he did a version of this outside of a club I think in Wash. state
He didn’t sing Marky’s parts…another vocalist did. Myles was in the movie though near the end (Thor - god of Thunder!) who was pulled out of the crowd by Wahlberg’s character. Myles did sing all his own parts however 👍💪
Myles Kennedy and Alter Bridge are SO GOOD! You need to dive in to their catalog. I’m gonna subscribe to your channel, hoping to see more Alter Bridge reactions from you.
The great Myles Kennedy, and yes it gives you that grunge vibe because this is Creed with a different singer, but with all due respect to Creed, Alter Bridge is so much more than that

ALTERBRIDGE- Blackbird live from this show. 🔥🔥🔥🔥 you wont regret it. Alterbridge is one of the best rock bands in the world.
My favourite band - so many good songs. Listen to Blackbird from the same concert x
They did a great version live in Manchester in 2016 as well. Myles Kennedy and Mark Tremonti do an amazing duel guitar solo!!
Absolutely Blackbird live ❤❤
Live in Amsterdam is goated

I could literally go on and on about them... also, GO NINERS!!
Great voice, I will be following them thank you.

Alter Bridge is a phenomenal band and Myles Kennedy is one of the greatest vocalists ever. He is on a different level

Alter Bridge is a suuuper band
Bro…if I would have known you didn’t know about this greatness!!! I’ll get back with suggestions when I’m not driving.

Eternal Lullaby is an all-time great song! Tribute to Chris Cornell and the loss felt…
I went to one of their concerts about 2 years ago, I also got to see Mammoth WVH there too and one other band

The billboard acoustic version of this is much much better
I hope your difficulty talking means you had a great time at the concert!
I want to hear more of him!💜💜💜
I do also. More please!!

Blackbird live is truly phenomenal!
Can't remember which one is best though?
live at Wembley if you want the background to the song
@@floridawhitehe was sick with bronchitis in Wembley, Amsterdam has the best energy and raw talent.

@floridawhite You are entitled to your opinion. I was just curious if you've heard Amsterdam.
