Whether you’re selling on PayPal, eBay, or any other online platform, dishonest buyers are exploiting the system, and in this video, I’m sharing my personal experience of how a buyer used chargeback abuse to get their money back while keeping the item. As a UK seller, I’ve experienced my fair share of challenges, but this time, I’m taking legal action to fight back. This is my story of filing a small claims court case for chargeback fraud, and if you’ve ever dealt with a chargeback dispute, you know exactly how frustrating it can be.
    The buyer purchased a stunning carved wooden lantern from me and then, without any legitimate complaints about the item itself, filed a PayPal chargeback claim alleging the item was "not as described." But the truth? Their issue was with the electrics, which were never part of the sale. This is a classic case of buyer chargeback scam, and it’s time to reveal how PayPal dispute chargeback fraud often leaves sellers like me without recourse. In fact, many sellers don’t know that PayPal chargeback disputes often result in the buyer winning simply because banks rarely review the evidence properly.

    Good luck, hope you get a result. I know you said taking PayPal off your web site caused losses in sales but it maybe worth thinking about it again just to take away the stress. Anyway, look forward to see what happens, I think you are on a winner with this one.

    Chargebacks are a modern avenue for scams, buyers that use it to often do get into trouble with their banks but it has become the default way in recent years of getting things for free. Banks almost never don't rule in favour of their customers. I had one that I had tracking, messages from the buyer & even positive feedback but that didn't stop him two months later claiming he knew nothing about it. His bank refunded him, eBay took from me & then after I complained I got it back. But I am very interested in how the small claims court thing goes. I was aware its an option & not that expensive so am looking forward to the series.

    The 14 days return only applies for a change of mind return. For an item claimed to be faulty its between 4-6 months depending on payment provider.

    One aspect of the job I just could not put up with. Just give me good honest people. I never diddled anyone. Honestly, I just could not have this in my life. You should be going after the woman that bought it as she is completely oblivious of the grief it's causing. I hate not being in control and relying on someone else i.e. Paypal. I also hate having to chase after my own money. There are a lot of scammers out there as well as some who are completely mad. Does Ebay temp you back now? Just asking.
