Man this is cool. Never realized such a thing existed in the mid 80s. I suppose it makes sense when they were already doing big 3d graphics in movies by the 90s.

This was at least a decade ahead of its time. And a very logical non standard interface, same like lightwave and Scala.

The "Starlight" referred to in the video was a hardware and software upgrade for the Mirage that provided 3D lighting effects.
