I think beating the AI is simple math. Its villagers are 2x worth to yours. Killing one is the same as killing two. AI has a hard time protecting itself from raids. You can't outboom an advantage that huge. To put it bluntly, you need to be hyper aggressive.
If you run out of space for sheep in your TC's bottom corner, you can squeeze them into the space between your first house and TC without sacrificing tile space
I've played several times vs absurd and previous hardest AI without any cheese and French is actually quite easy to beat. Go for 2tcs and make a few spearman just to defend your base. The AI will start making archers which you can focus fire with your TC whenever they dive. The idea is to avoid idle villagers inside TC as much as possible since the damage you take for idling is quite significant and knights are quite Tanky. Then you have to play a macro game against AI, your economy is going to be worse so don't take even fights. I find it quite fun to play against, good luck!
The only way I've been able to beat brutal AI is by constantly harassing multiple resource lines, and being super aggressive. If you can idle out their villagers, the AI isn't super smart so it gets confused with what it needs to do.

There is only 1 way I found how to beat Absurd AI. Play only English and focus on extreme Feudal aggression. Pump those Longbowmen towards his base and keep harassing Gold/Food/Wood lines. That’s how I keep winning every single game against AI.
I havent crunched the numbers but I think AI gets good trade even when it looses all his raids and causing your villagers idle time. His prod is always at 2x while it idle yours, meanwhile itll get all its upgrades and eventually your eco wont support the waves.
i think you need a little more walls. not even closed, but just enough to make them walk much longer to your gold etc, whilst getting shot at all along
2 spear and 5 long bow would have saved the life of almost all those vills lol. Strat is okay, but it is also double okay to make a few defensive units.
Barbican rush their Chamber of Commerce, and BBQ all the traders they'll keep making regardless. That'll slow down their eco and cost them heaps of res. Then tower rush their gold. Then pray.
Select production building and right click, you can also do shift right click. The commands will all be followed in order (such as attack (A) with shift click)

Meaning knight will ignore attack until and only move to 2nd wp, then itll attack & move to its destination

So youd select a group or unit, shift+right click to destination, then hold shift press a then click where you want them to start attacking

Agreed. Any type of tower rush or a barb rush is super tough for them.
Drongo surely knows this, the key premise is that he wants to attempt doing it without cheesing the AI with early aggressions, crazy trade etc

I know this isn't that impressive but I just won with wonder against 3 hard AI (not on same team) with HRE. Big achievement for me, was a ton of fun

Why not create early armies and rush first. Then walling the area

Me and a friend vs'd the absurd AI, with wonders off and no sacred wins. Took 2hrs to beat it 😅

Expanding the map helped me as English vs Mongols. Im hopping between silver and gold.

becuase spears are only effective vs french knights if you outnumber 3 to 1. absurd AI level produces more knights than you can make spears lol
