The allusion IS his music, you'll note how few character reveals in Ultimate allude using music, it's usually motif tease, reveal, THEN the music plays; but with Sephiroth, his theme is just too iconic. Most of us knew it was him within the first 4 notes/beats, so how could they not lead with it when his theme literally precedes him?

The statue they showed before the trailer could be a huge hint too seeing as it kinda looked to be the statue Sephiroth tears open to reveal his mother..or who he claimed to be his mother in the game... sorry if spoilers but FF7 is a rather old game ^^; Still nice we got the other side of the coin as it were... Cloud being shown with a angel wing in some appearances and Sephiroth the dark angel wing...
100%, that was an amazing trailer. Really shows off how impressive Sephiroth is. Between the Aerith Dive, him killing Galeem, and Cloud having Omnislash Ver 5, it was super cool. If anyone could easily one-shot Galeem, it would be Sephiroth. Also, as a note, a ton of shots from this trailer are exact remakes of scenes from the final fight of Final Fantasy 7: Advent Children (the movie that follows FF7 canonically). Sephiroth summoning the clouds, stabbing Mario (in the movie, actually stabbing Cloud), growing the wing, and Cloud's Omnislash are all from it. Super cool to see the level of dedication go into this.
You're not too far off from him being Marth 2; back in the Brawl modding days 10 years ago, we used Marth as a base for various Sephiroth mods (And Ike for Cloud). Amazing that this is now a reality all these years later!

Never mind that Sephiroth nearly Aerith'd Zelda at 2:12, the more lasting image certainly goes to Mario. As well, I suspect Cloud gets a "new" Final Smash but would be specific to the Advent Children colors. That, or even more specific when used on Sephiroth.
So anyone wondering what the names of some of those moves were let me detail it. So that dark attack is shadow flare, that moment where he slashed the midgar stage in half was heavens light, that counter ability is scintilla. That downward attack is hells gate. And I believe that the long hitting forward attack is octaslash. His dash attack which has not been shown might be an attack called oblivion if I were to guess. Excited to see the rest of his move set.
I was kinda relieved when Sephiroth did that I dont want to see them get vaporized again but I know that things are gonna go down. that trailer is sorta kind of a reference to Brawl when Sonic stopped Tabuu from using his offwaves again in the Subspace Emissary Also dont forget next Thursday there will be a presentation about Sephiroth by Masahiro Sakurai it will begin at 2:00 pm PT and 5:00 pm ET

I was kinda relieved when Sephiroth did that I dont want to see them get vaporized again but I know that things are gonna go down. that trailer is sorta kind of a reference to Brawl when Sonic stopped Tabuu from using his offwaves again in the Subspace Emissary Also dont forget next Thursday there will be a presentation about Sephiroth by Masahiro Sakurai it will begin at 2:00 pm PT and 5:00 pm ET
