This is literally every movie made by a major studio the past few years doesn’t give it a pass at all. Corporate overlords can’t stop meddling tho there are signs of Disney finally changing their tone with the announcement they are going back to male silver surfer and silk is being rewritten to skew more towards a male demographic. Better than nothing I guess, it only took them losing like 20 billion dollars tho lol 😂
Yeah I'll take Johnson's word on this one. This movie screams "product" over actual storytelling, and watching the actors distance themselves from the film almost immediately was a giant red flag. It's a shame that Sony has seen it beneficial to trample over some really cool characters, basically ruining their chance to ever be relevant on-screen for many years to come.
The quality of the movie is one thing. But u know what i never thought to myself? Man, i wish they made a Madame Web movie. Part of it is because i dont know who tf that is, but neither does the vast majority of the population. Idk what demographic this was even aimed at. Even amongst big comic fans, i doubt anyone was hoping they'd make a movie out of this.
The problem is that the vast majority of folks could have said that about Iron Man, Guardians of the Galaxy, Ant-Man, Werewolf by Night, Moon Knight, etc. Movies are released all the time with unknown characters. The movies can make the characters known if they are good. I feel like the issue is quality and not known vs unknown.
Honestly it’s happening in a bunch of different areas, like when Facebook went down and they couldn’t get it fixed because the security system locked them out of the building due to it being run off Facebook. Allowing business people to run a tech company without actually having someone who is tech to advise them is idiotic as they know nothing about what they’re doing.
She mentioned Ai. I didn’t include that point because I honestly didn’t follow what she was saying. I went and read the original, full interview and there wasn’t enough context to make sense of it.
No one was ready for this movie to be a disaster by the same dudes behind Morbius at the company behind the PlayStation consoles. Sony Pics made reshoots towards Andrew being Spider-Man there. Andrew rejected the creators about being so, so did with Tom and Tobey. Movies like this make an ordinary fan of the source material wonder "Why will I bother watching this junk worth 80 million bucks out of a lobby room in committee form?" Still enough, the SSU is junk as well as Madame Web movie.
Haven't seen it. The commericials to it didn't make me think it was one I needed to spend money on. Money's tight and I only go to the movies if I think they are going to be worth the extra to see them as an event on the big screen. (noted this is an old video that resurfaced on my feed)
No. The movie SHOULD NOT have been made in the first place. Continuing to make Spider-Man Rogues gallery characters without Spider-Man is the worst of ideas! Any Comic Book Reader knows this!
I agree and disagree. If done properly I think a Peter Parker/Spiderman less movie could do well. If done properly is the key. Madame Web was not a good movie from what many have said.

Thats pretty much how comic books are msde now too. At DC and Marvel at least. So yeah its a commitee. They also didnt follow the source material. Also Madame Web was never a popular chatacter.
The movie bombed because no one on earth wanted a Madame Web movie. Nothing character, no interest, no real history. You might as well make a movie about Robbie Robertson's uncle or J Jonah Jameson's accountant.
