As a member of the Battlefield Trust I urge anyone who is interested in the preservation of our history to join and take advantage of these educational videos as well as their other programs. Even if you can only donate a few dollars, the cause is well worth it. Great job guys for all that you do!!!

I grew up in PA and spent considerable time exploring the entire battlefield. I now live in N CA (Santa Rosa) and miss being able to relive the battle. These videos are bringing back many memories to this 70 year old. I was dating a girl from York College, and we often came to Gettysburg for picnics. THANK YOU for all you do. I have been a member for several years and I appreciate everything you do to preserve history and keep history alive.

Gettysburg has been in my blood. My uncle Kenny and Paul moved to Gettysburg and opened a grocery store in town. My cousin and I at the same age were close and I would spend several weeks in the summers to help in the store and spend time with my cousin. In the 60's we had more unrestricted access to the battlefield, and we could explore the battlefield grounds as free as any 12 year olds could want. Gettysburg had a strong impact on my intellectual development, becoming very interested with the whole era of the Civil War and American History.

Visited for the first time in 1969 as a teenager with Mom and Dad. The highlight was a helicopter tour. But wow, this area was really tacky back then. Go back these days every couple of years of so. Thank folks like the Trust for restoring this national treasure; gets better every year.

20:01 Named after George Spangler my 2nd great grandmother's cousin also their cousin is Edmund Spangler who was employed at Ford's Theatre at the time of President Abraham Lincoln's murder on April 14, 1865. He and seven others were charged in conspiring to assassinate Lincoln and three other high level government officials. Edmund Spangler was the only one found not guilty of the conspiracy charge. Even so, he was found guilty of helping Lincoln's assassin, John Wilkes Booth, escape and sentenced to six years of hard labor.
