    The second bumper fits and looks so much better than the first, and I think it will look fantastic when painted. Can't wait to see it. What about some fender flairs and wider wheels next?

    I'm having a similar issue with mine that I just received, the sides below the fenders are too long it seems. How much fighting did you have to do with KBD to get them to send you a new one? I've already emailed them and sent them pretty detailed pictures of the problem areas.

      +philipwarren93 they just asked me to cut the one I got up (destroy it) and sent me another. They responded fairly quickly.

    How did the mesh attach? I didnt buy it with my bumper but I have the same mesh.

      +Jan Bauer painter attached it with something like a clear silicone caulk 😣. Will figure out a different way to attach it after I wrap it.

    Is the nose of the front bumper a little shorter on the kbd? Than OEM? I already know it's lower

    I just installed my own KBD front bumper. Your video helped me a great deal. I was fortunate to get one that fit well on the first try.
    I am having a bit of trouble with the 997 reflectors. I can't get them as snug as I'd like.

      +Paul Quick glad to help! Yes my side markers are not snug either

  • @dxman99
    @dxman99 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Just confirming that this is just the KBD bumper that you bought and not the bumper and the lip. So far yours is the only video/pictures that I have seen of the "bumper". Even KBD's site when you choose the bumper it shows a picture of the bumper and the lip. They also say that the 997 side markers are required for it to work but I see you are using your original 986 oem side markers...actually I see in earlier comments about the 997 side markers but didn't see or missed in your video that you changed them out

    • @HelpMeDIY
      @HelpMeDIY  ปีที่แล้ว

      +Dale Magrath yea it’s just the bumper. Yea you need the 997 markers. No it’s not a perfect fit.

    Overall do you think it was worth it or would you go back and get a different bumper? And how much did it cost you to paint?

    • @HelpMeDIY
      @HelpMeDIY  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      +Matt Brewer I’m not saying it’s the best bumper out there, but for the price I can recommend it. Bumper got painted as part of the whole car so I can’t say.

    You shoulve bought the wide tsport front bumper off ebay. The only style that would suit the body line of boxster 986. I have it on mine with the aero kit side skirt. It looks clean and stock.. just sharing :)

      @@HelpMeDIY I am thinking about replacing mine, 2000 boxster s, with the 2003 996 turbo headlights and front bumper all oem parts. I always like the look of the 03 turbo 996 compared to the 986 headlights and front bumper cover. It looks too soft, I like the edgy look. Darn set up is like $5000 now. Not sure I will ever recoup that conversion.
