I have a question, when you use the wheel do index and it is connected to the intake and roller, when you have disks loaded, does it not effect the starting position for the disks?
@@spartan_wired48 use fusion 360, and cad the way you would build. make as many changes as you want to the cad, its better to perfect the design in cad then to prototype while building
@@difficult.to.underestimate Yep, makes a lot of sense. Adding and deleting parts in a CAD is way faster than screwing and unscrewing in real life. But prototyping is important to test subsystems before putting them together. Thanks a lot! And also thanks 4082B for being so inspirational.
How do you make 3 shots in a row without losing interia on your flywheel? Been having trouble with triple shots as the third shot is always not enough power.
We spend lots of time tuning our flywheel to make it consistent. Additionally, we make sure to take extra time in making sure there is little to no friction on the axle as possible.
Do you guys have issues with the last disc jumping up when being fired? i used to run a very similar indexer with 1350rpm and the last disc would hop up and down befor getting pushed into the flywheel
Timmy Osborne if the disc is hopping up and down your flywheel might not be close enough to the indexer. you kinda want as little disc travel as possible for the best indexing. either that or the angle could be too steep or some other issue maybe.
They are mounted at an angle by drilling a hole through them, not straight, but at the angle they want so they can be screwed down. Obviously not 4082b, so I could be wrong
This robot is amazing, but by the sound of how to motor sharing is explained, how come you don’t employ the use of PTO? Sorry if I’m mistaken, just sounds like the intake, indexer, and roller are all on one motor.
yo why the structural hs axles??don’t they just add a ton of extra weight? wouldn’t a stand-off locking collar provide the same structural support? tysm and fabulous bot.
HS axles for structure provide much more support in our experience. Also, they can be mounted differently making them less likely to bend or twist compared to standoffs.
is there a reason as to why you guys geared your flywheel instead of doing direct like on cornbot?? also, why is there a gear on your indexer ALSO, FIRE REVEAL!!

how long did it take to adjust to driving 480 rpm from 360 rpm?

Is the drivetrain on 2.75'' omni wheels? and what are the gear ratios for a 480 rpm drive? Is it custom gears?

under it says do not clamp your bot to the field. so is that tactic at 0:36 legal?

Why not gear it up?
The corn turned into snow 🤯
❄️🌽❄️🌽❄️
Why does your blooper only use a piston on one side?
Less air usage 💨
Is there a reason you use hs shaft for flywheel?
The flywheel goes through an immense beating during matches and practice. A low strength axle would twist and bend under the pressure.
This robot is amazing, but by the sound of how to motor sharing is explained, how come you don’t employ the use of PTO? Sorry if I’m mistaken, just sounds like the intake, indexer, and roller are all on one motor.
Yes they all work off one motor. We don’t utilize a pto because they take up a large amount of space and our bot is quite compact.
How is your flywheel rpm still 3600 without direct power? Is that a custom gear ratio?
We use two gears to achieve this speed. All gears are from the vex store.

Just got some clarification: McMaster Carr. Did this help?
I believe he means the poly carbonate sheet
How does indexer work I see the flex wheels underneath flywheel but with out a compression bar is there enough for the flex wheel to move the discs
Yes the angle and gravity on the disks is enough to feed them into the flywheel
Do you use 8 wheels? And you were too, would that cause any problems? Thanks!
No we only use six wheels🛞
Is the plastic delrin? Where did you source it?
McMaster Carr
Make sure you source the vex legal material and size specifications!!!!!
Are hs axels just op for build quality?
Hs axles provide lots of support
Why is no one talking about how the low goal barrier just got violated by those wedges
😈😈😈
Why do you have your blooper at positions on each side so it is at a weird angle when it is activated?
Disks shoot left, the blooper corrects them to shoot straight
I see now
where do you order your delrin from? ⛄️
McMaster Carr. Make sure you source the vex legal material and size specifications!
Do yall have problems with the intake/loader/roller motor over heating? Also what cartridge motor is it?

how do the custom flex wheel plates work without using a collar on the rollers?
The other side uses the regular vex flex wheel insert which allows us to use a hs lock collar between the two plates.
Do you use high strength on the whole intake?
No we do not utilize HS axles on our entire intake. We do use hs axles for structure on different parts of our intake.

Thank you! We utilize gears to run our intake, indexer, and roller mech. It allows disks to be fed into the flywheel at a fine tuned rpm
I think they have a gear to their flywheel because that allows them to have the flywheel further up and forward without the motor being out of size.

We have a process. Prototype and measure paper. Then laser cut the precise piece.
