He doesn't care what is said or taught, he is only being argumentative - he poses this question all over every Oneness responses.
But he will not answer any questions posed to him: I have asked him, if you do believe in a trinity then who fathered the baby Jesus - the Father? Or, the Holy Spirit? Since he was conceived in the womb of Mary?
(This is a more detailed question, but I merely asked a shorter form of it) He has never responded to it, because this is as pointless as asking who was Jesus praying to in the Garden or on the Cross).
Christianity isn't my religion. Judaism is, but my relationship is with Yeshua ha Mashiach (Jesus Christ) which is the bases of my faith.
I stand firm in the law of grace (covenant) mitzvah (commandment)
The first is Hear O Isreal YHWH our God, YHWH is one (Theological proper.
Yeshua ha Mashiach, He is the Incarnation of God - God in flesh (Christology).
      and so on.

Stammering, apologizing for mistakes in his presentation. I googled Gene Cook and he doesn't appear. Have Bernard debate someone like a MacArthur, or a Sproul. A random NBA player will pound a neighbourhood hacker but he probably wouldn't beat Michael Jordan in a one on one. This was an endeavor organized for a poor participant to fail, in my opinion. Don't see this issue as resolved because of a lopsided performance. All things were not equal here.

It's sad that Gene Cook doesn't pay more attention to what and how Dr. Bernard is explaining truth. If he would allow God to speak to him, I believe that God would give him a revelation of the One True God manifest in the body of Jesus Christ for the redemption of man. Too many people are bound by tradition and cannot see beyond their preconceived ideas. We all must seek truth prayerfully with an open heart to what God desires to reveal to us.
Thank you Dr. Bernard for sharing this material. I believe that we are going to see a great revival in these last days and many coming to the revelation of this wonderful truth!

He then makes the Apostle John a liar, who said the "true God, is both the Father and the Son". Jesus is revealed in the very last appearance of the Throne as the Lamb, not the Son. The Lamb was slain from the foundation of the world (Jesus is everlasting God, neither beginning or end). The Son eventually ends that role when the Kingdom is completed. (1Cor 15:24)
      1 John 5:20 NASB95
_And we know that the Son of God has come, and has given us understanding_ so that *_we may know Him who is true; and we are in Him who is true, in His Son Jesus Christ. This is the true God_* _and eternal life._
      Revelation 22:3 KJV
And there shall be no more curse: but *the throne of God **_and_** of the Lamb* shall be in it; and *_his servants shall serve him:_*
      Revelation 13:8 KJV
And all that dwell upon the earth shall worship him, whose names are not written in the book of life of *_the Lamb slain from the foundation of the world._*

The word worship comes from the Greek PROSKUNEO and means worship, homage, reverence, tribute.
if every time this word is presented or occurs in the Bible we are going to translate worship then we would fall into idolatry of men because the word PROSKUNEO is applied to men in the scriptures also.
      1) APOCALYPSE 3: 9, 2) GENESIS 19:1, 3) 2 SAMUEL 14: 22 4) Exodus 18: 7 5) 1 Kings 1: 23
      6) 1 Chronicles 29: 20,24; ect
the word PROSKUNEO needs to be translated depending on the context Jesus never received worship what he received was great reverence, tribute, and great homage. the worship is reserved only to the Father and the only truth God. John 17: 3

I was in trinity churches for years...was baptised 4 times in their titles...not name, but titles, with nothing happening. Finally came to Pentecost at 29 years old, was baptised in the name of Jesus after repenting, and received the holy ghost with evidence of speaking in other tongues. On top of this, while I was still in the water, a demon came out of me first! The most inhuman sounds came out of me when that demon left, sounds no human could make. Only after I was clean did the holy ghost then dwell within me and I began speaking in tongues then. It was the single most incredible best thing to ever happened to me in my life. So, I have physical evidence of both dark and light spiritual world and physical evidence of the oneness of the Lord. Jesus is God manifest in the flesh.

You mean God the spirit is Jesus christ which is flesh.. not Jesus is God.. because Jesus is NOT GOD.. GOD IS SPIRIT.. and only spirit, who came in flesh, and is still in the flesh.. the trinity is a true doctrine.. not a false doctrine.. the father, the son, holy spirit are 1 indeed.. not 3 person.. we as trinity believer say person, which is a word we do not prefer, and do not like to use.. because we know there is no 3 different people.. just like you.. me and you have a body and a spirit or soul.. body, soul... body, spirit.. but does that make you 2 different people, no it does not.. Jesus christ would represent the same thing.. not 2 or 3 different persons..there is no other, no second, yea, he hath no child nor brother.. which means the son, would also be God himself in flesh.. father, son, spirit.. are 1.. and minus my difference in belief, David Bernard teaches the true gospel of Jesus christ.. he is definitely 1 of the better preacher's.. what David Bernard is saying, is almost the same thing as trinity.. they are all 3 as 1 just as Bible states.. trinity is not on Bible, but neither is the word Bible, but we know it's the Bible.. just like we know there is no 3 God's.. but the bible mentions 3 who bare record in heaven.. all 3 are 1 God.. just as Jesus said himself.. now, tongues.. nobody has spoken in tongues for almost 2,000 years.. the last man to speak in tongues was an apostle.. they are dead.. not 1 man spoke in tongues after that time.. why has there been almost a 2,000 year period where no man spoke tongues.. why??....
Edit.. I didn't mean it as Jesus is not God.. I'm only meaning God is Jesus christ, because the man Jesus bled and died.. and then God resurrected that man and become flesh.. so no I wasn't meaning you were wrong.. sorry bout that. I wanted to Edit to make that clear.. God bless brother..

This is interesting, I want to inform you that just because you were baptized that many times has nothing to do with the “titles” you were baptized by, you just weren’t truly surrendered I was baptized in a baptist church as well and I was certainly saved baptized in the name of the Father Son Holy Spirit, and my understanding at that time I thought I was going to speak in tongues after I came out of the water but it didn’t happen , fast forward about 6-7 months I left that church as I felt I wasn’t being fed and was rather bored at the preaching ended up going to a non denominational church which in disguise was definitely Pentecostal, well let’s just say I got baptized in the Holy Spirit spoke with tongues and the next day a devil at my work manifested in demonic tongues, no lie, but I want to help you to understand something that I had a pastor lay hands on me at that church and all of the sudden i was dealing with demonic attacks left right and centre, I also noticed that I started to believe in oneness doctrine, I never studied or thought about why but I started to believe it, fast forward again a few more months I started to go through deliverance as I discovered that the pastor had sin and therefore when he laid hands on me was transferred, so that was where that spirit of error came from, I am now free and those attacks no more happening I delve into scripture to find the truth about this matter and there is too much evidence that God is triune I’ll give you one verse that should really open your eyes and how there is a spirit of error trying to blind you to who God is.
“I have yet many things to say unto you, but ye cannot bear them now. Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will shew you things to come. He shall glorify me: for he shall receive of mine, and shall shew it unto you. All things that the Father hath are mine: therefore said I, that he shall take of mine, and shall shew it unto you.”
      ‭‭John‬ ‭16‬:‭12‬-‭15‬ ‭KJV‬‬
Jesus clearly says here that the Spirit is a distinct person “him” we cannot deny the whole of scripture is God one? Yes of course he’s also 3 shalom, pray God will give you understanding

Our God is righteous and has taught us to keep our conversations holy anytime and anywhere, I hope your God is the same. Then going through sermons and related scriptures it was validated in me that the ONESS position is TRUE. and my plan was to illustrate this in a document to defend my position should i be challenged. So I have made several documents (credit to Pst. Gino Jennings) on the affirmative of the ONESS Position. But still I was unable to collate it properly and perhaps in an ethical stance. Honestly GOD revealed the teaching of Dr David Bernard to me as I just came across your Channel. 1 John 5:7 is a controversial verse because part of it is absent from the earliest Greek manuscripts. The disputed section is: "For there are three that bear record in heaven, the Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost: and these three are one." Here's why its origins are considered questionable:
      1. Manuscript Evidence:
The longer form of this verse, including the reference to the Father, Word, and Holy Spirit, appears in very few Greek manuscripts, and those manuscripts date from much later (after the 14th century). The earliest and most reliable manuscripts, including those from the 2nd and 3rd centuries, do not contain this text.
      2. Latin Influence:
The passage appears in some Latin manuscripts (especially the Vulgate), and scholars believe it was likely added to support Trinitarian doctrine during debates in the Western church. Early church fathers, like Tertullian and Augustine, didn’t reference this specific phrase when discussing the Trinity, which suggests it wasn’t part of the original text.
      3. Textual Criticism:
Many textual scholars agree that the phrase was likely a later insertion. Erasmus, in his first edition of the Greek New Testament (1516), didn’t include it because it wasn’t found in any of the Greek manuscripts available to him. However, under pressure, he included it in his third edition after a single Greek manuscript surfaced with the text, but this manuscript is now widely considered a forgery.
For these reasons, modern Bible translations, like the NIV and ESV, often omit the Comma Johanneum or place it in a footnote, acknowledging its questionable authenticity.
Even if we accept 1 John 5:7 as authentic, it does not necessarily support the doctrine of the Trinity in the way Trinitarians claim. Here's why:
      1. Use of "Word" Instead of "Son":
The verse refers to "the Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost," not "Father, Son, and Holy Spirit." If this were meant to explicitly teach the Trinity, we might expect it to use the term "Son" rather than "Word." In Oneness theology, the "Word" (Greek *Logos*) refers to God's expression or plan, which was made flesh in Jesus (John 1:14). This could easily fit within a Oneness framework where the Word is not a separate person but the same God manifest in different roles or modes.
      2. The Term "These Three Are One":
The phrase "these three are one" is used, but it doesn't explain how they are "one." Trinitarians interpret this as meaning they are one in essence or substance but distinct in persons. However, from a Oneness perspective, this can mean that these three are manifestations or aspects of the same God. Just as Jesus said in John 10:30, "I and my Father are one," Oneness theology understands this oneness as a unity of identity rather than separate persons sharing a divine nature.
      3. Lack of Distinction in Persons: The verse does not state that the Father, Word, and Spirit are distinct persons. It simply affirms their unity. The Oneness position holds that God manifests Himself in different ways (as Father in creation, as the Son in redemption, and as the Holy Spirit in regeneration and indwelling believers) but remains one undivided being. There's no clear indication here of a three-person relationship.
      4. Context of Testimony:
The context of 1 John 5 is about the testimony that Jesus is the Son of God, and how God gives witness to this truth. Verses 8 and 9 continue to describe how the Spirit, water, and blood testify to this truth. These elements are not separate persons but manifestations of the ways in which God reveals and confirms His truth. Likewise, "the Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost" can be understood as different ways God bears witness to Himself, not as a proof of a triune Godhead.
In conclusion, even if 1 John 5:7 were considered authentic, it can be interpreted within a Oneness Pentecostal framework as affirming the oneness of God, not as a teaching of three distinct persons in one God.

What most trinitarians seem to forget is that God is omnipresent and is Everywhere at one time so of course He can be in the flesh in His human nature And in heaven as the father at one time showing us the relationship we are to have with the Father. He could've been around the corner talking with someone else at the same time!

Yes, which is why brother Cook has a lack of understanding of his own position, let alone a proper understanding of the Oneness position. He was reflecting on God's omnipresent nature, which he responds to this notion as though Jesus as God must also fill all space including satan.

For those who don't understand the omnipresent nature of God - there are two specific viewpoints about this position: one says that God fills every aspect of space (Ps 139:7-12) and everything is open before God (Heb 12:13). The problem here is that it doesn't prove or disprove everything for or against the Trinity or Oneness positions. Which is why I stated that brother Cook don't have a proper understanding of his own view of God, let alone the Oneness position of God.

Granted. But, quote the question in the trinity view in mind, from Nathan point - the first man was created in the image of God, shouldn't we also be one being with three distinct persons of each of us? If so, name all three distrinct persons in our one being?
My response is that we are only dichotomy beings, spirit and flesh. At death, our body returns to the ground and our spirit returns to God. Likewise, Jesus is a dichotomy being, the God-Man.

I am thankful that I lived long enough to see the truth of the one that's position. I came out of the worldwide Church of God with Herbert Armstrong and Garner Ted Armstrong on the radio. When they died off greed and such took over in the doctrine was destroyed not that they ever really understood the doctrine of Oneness. But it was a firm foundation for that time. Back in the 60s and 70s.

I remembered Herbert Armstrong, seeing him on television multiple times. But he made insanity comments about doctrines, but I did like him enough to subscribe to the Plain Truth magazine for about two years. Yet, I never agree with his positions.

I purchased this open debate years ago, but brother Cooke does an extremely poor job at representation the Trinity doctrine - he waste time by attacking the Oneness position, which he clearly doesn't understand. He panics, because he was completely unaware and under prepared at his task that he asked for to be involved.

      That is correct.
He needs first clearly defined what believes, with as many verses as possible, and explain how the Trinity can be (ect) ... but allow the audience and viewers agree or disagree with his conclusions.

1:01:32 - 1:05:19 - It was between this time, Gene was exposed and made a fool of himself. Gene Cook asked if God is present in Satan. I thought the question was absolutely stupid, silly, and devilish, and he thought, if he asked the question, he would stump the Pastor. He showed how low he was willing to go, in order to stump the Pastor, but it did not work. His questions also made me cringe, for they were immature and childish.

I was embarrassed for Cook when he said that. I didn't understand what the point was... Is he saying that he doesn't believe God is everywhere? Yikes, if that's what he was implying. I didn't know that was a Trinitarian position.

While I find the scriptural discourse on both sides of this very interesting and both sides raising very valid questions I cannot help but think of The apostle Paul’s words of how knowledge puffs up. It is almost with a subtle sense of arrogance and pride that both sides of this debate present their arguments as if their understanding is the inherent absolute interpretation of the Scriptures. I think the concept of understanding the nature of God and the manifestation of His personage is way beyond human comprehension even with the Scriptures and the help of the Holy Spirit even the apostle Paul himself did not claim to have complete understanding in all matters and he was taken into the heavenly’s and received revelations that were unspeakable I think both of these men would be well served to consider his words: “For now we see in a mirror dimly, but then face to face. Now I know in part; then I shall know fully, even as I have been fully known.”
    ‭‭1 Corinthians‬ ‭13‬:‭12‬ ‭ESV‬‬
Why don’t we unify and rally around what we do know to be clear the death burial and resurrection of Jesus Christ and lay our theological doctrinal swords down and focus on saving a hurting dying world instead of trying to prove our camp of understanding right!

1:16:42 Who, being in the form of God, THOUGHT IT NOT ROBBERY to be equal with God. Philippians 2:6 modern translations stated this verse opposite of what the Authorized say to fit their false kenosis doctrine. Jesus didn't empty himself. His glory was veiled. John 1:14 John said we beheld His glory. When did john see His glory? At the transfiguration when He revealed it to Peter, James & John so again the kenosis or self emptying is false.

I was Saved, Baptized in the Holy Ghost and spoke in tongues before I was water baptized. My problem is that " Without the Shedding of Blood there is no Remission of Sin" I can't see where water can wash away sin. John's Baptism of Repentance would have been enough but water could not take away sin. The Blood Sacrifices from Abel to the Cross all pictured what Jesus would do with His blood on the Cross.

@@jacobdaniellawson0417 Often times we have seen people with the glow of God on them with water baptism and many also spoke in tongues when they came up out of the water . This was in the Name of the Father ,Son and Holy Spirit formula not in the name of Jesus only . I see it as being in obedience to what Jesus said about baptism . There is first the Baptism of John which Jesus was baptized then baptism in the body of Christ next is water baptism and then baptism in the Holy Ghost with the evidence of speaking in other tongues . John's baptism is the baptism of repentance except in Jesus case it was a confirmation of who he was and the beginning of his public ministry .
