A very good presentation, but respectfully an important correction must be made. The armies of Major General Sullivan and Brigadier General Clinton marched to and met at Tioga Point in August 1779, the confluence of the Chemung and Susquehanna Rivers near present day Athens, PA (Bradford County, PA). Fort Sullivan was erected between the two rivers at this location. Copious information about Fort Sullivan and the actions that took place in that vicinity may be found at the Tioga Point Museum in Athens, PA. Tioga, PA, is actually a small village in Tioga County, PA, along the Tioga River.

Why is destruction of property by British forces called terrorism, while destruction of property by the rebellious forces is commended?

The Battle of Wyoming took place in what is now Luzerne County, at Wyoming in the Wyoming Valley through which the North Branch of the Susquehanna River flows. Not in Wyoming County as stated by Mr. Gable. This should be acknowledged and corrected because of the inaccurate information as I just noted.

We forget the for nearly 150 yrs from 1630 to the end of the Revolution. This was the frontier. Countless battles with the various Indian tribes. Torture, death & deprivation were common place. No quarter was asked and none was given.

Most excellent. Many, who don’t study history, will never see that the majority of European aggression toward the American Indians, was in response to predations. This was universal.

Violence was mutual. If anything, the American Indians were the ones responding to "predations"

    • @rampantmutt9119

How can they be "predations" when the "American Indians" were in their homelands and the Europeans were clearly not?

No greater predation than European settlers coming to America. Imagine you and your ancestors had lived on this continent for thousands of years and suddenly a massive group of settlers from a different country start showing up in the tens of thousands and aggressively trying to take your land and resources.

Your PA map is not correct. The massacre took place in the town of Wyoming which is in Luzerne County, and not Wyoming county, Weak sauce!!!!!

Johnny Sullivan was a hero. He was all business. Washington needed a guy with no feelings to carryout campaign. As brutal as this campaign was it shows that the Indians were no angels. The Indians may have signed treaties with British but not us! This was a well justified campaign 👏
