If you don't have the seam allowance presser foot and don't wanna buy it you can put tape on your machine where you need the edge of the fabric to be, same principle without having to buy something you're eventually not gonna need. There are pros and cons to every type of fabric, stretchy fabric is easier & more forgiving to wear but a bit trickier to sew & you'll probably pop some stitches which can be an easy enough fix but it's something to think about. Structured and non stretchy fabrics are a lot easier to sew but take a bit more work to get the fit correct, but it's also going to last a lot longer if you take care of it whereas elasticized fabrics will lose elasticity. That being said they do lose elasticity really slowly if they're also cared for properly so these are all fairly minor things
