The best Beethoven´s 5th ever!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
第一楽章が終わって聴衆がざわついている。新しいベ−ト−べンに興奮して!重く無くスピード感のあるダイナミックレンジの広いグルダとセルの演奏に。天才同士の貴重な共演。
Wonderful to see again. And-57 years ago, how amazing the world has changed-NO female musicians in the orchestra! Usually, in those days of my youth, the only one would be a harpist...
Fascinating performance: both Szell and Gulda so compellingly alive and intelligent, but at least in the first movement at so many turns it is clear that Sell favors a quicker tempo than Gulda
What was that at the beginning? Gulda sat down and then stood up again and moved towards Szell with outstretched hand and Szell appeared to ignore him. Very odd.
I think that there was continued applause and Gulda did not want to acknowledge it unless Szell also did. After he said whatever he said to Szell about it, Gulda took two additional small bows before sitting at the keyboard again, so I assume that Szell had told him to go ahead by himself.
