As much money as I've given this company, I feel like aputure can afford a sound engineer, and not have to rely on the intern that was likely used here.
As a professional sound mixer for 15 years. A lot of producers will skimp on audio the majority of the time. The fix it in post mentality is really bad. But they got a nice projector! 😂
My first camera was a Canon T2i, I bought it around 2011. A year after saving, working very little and learning as much as I could from my colleagues, I saw that I needed a light, I bought the most basic one and the one that was within my reach at that time. A Chinese brand that I won't name, the light had a horrible green tint (I didn't care at the time) but it made me realize how necessary light was for filming and taking photos, having the freedom to light scenes, that I previously discarded for not knowing how to illuminate because I didn't know how to handle myself with only the camera and a slow lens. We always believe in our beginnings that the most important thing is the camera, without giving importance to the rest of the equipment and the people who can bring another perspective. Greetings from Uruguay
My favourite piece is the key to my Studio, knowing that everything that key secures has been saved with hard decisions from my Military War Pension, The Studio is my escape from the World, a place where I can create what I want. I have a huge Mental Wish list, and if I can get at least 10% of what’s on that list, then I’d be a very happy Chap, It’ll be a steep, uphill struggle, but I will get there!
Current favorite piece of film gear is glue tack, yeah 😂. It's cheap but with glue tack I can put small light on many places. It's good for stick practical light, like Aputure M9 or Aputure MC.
Hey!! Am Justine From Nigeria….Am in love with the Sony A7s iii… but still can’t afford… I really learnt a lot from this video and am a big fan from today ❤
Question - most of the projectors, especially the low end ones, have flicker or scan lines when you shoot at 180 degree. Does this problem go away once moving to more expensive projectors. Did you guys had to change the shutter speed form 180 to get rid of theese problems? Also - idea for another episode. Using a projector for virtual production. This would be something a lot of people are going to be very interested in. Keep up the good work!
Hello, great question. I have been trying to find a solution myself on this. We wanted to use a projected image as a background for an interview. We tried reducing the shutter speed (went down from 1/50 to 1/30), we then tried using a lower aperture to blur the background. The scan lines do become less visible, but they don't go away. Apparently, some projectors have a setting where you can change the refresh rate, for example, 20 to 60 hertz etc.. Any other suggestions would really help.
Look into using a camera with global shutter…depending on what projector/camera combo you are using the banding you might be seeing could be from the slow scan rate from a rolling shutter camera.
Putting a pro mist filter on the camera to reduce the pixelation of the projected image is an interesting option but have you tried simply putting the pro mist filter on the projector itself?
First time with a 5dmk2 in 2009/10 at night in an urban lit car park. It looked like cinema right through the lens. Miss that simple one cam, one old lens, not tricked out stance
You guys ever thought of including something like the recently discontinued lightform products for projection mapping that integrates with your other lights?
Really cool video, love those video with Kevin ! Can you get us some warning about laser burning camera sensor ? With lot of projector going to Bulb Lamp to Laser technology... this is a huge warning ? Maybe Justin has some knowledge to share about this.. ? Thanks, Take care
Please never point a high-powered lazer directly at your lens or sensor. With projectors, try to avoid high-lumen direct exposure to lenses or sensors for prolonged periods of time.
The interesting thing about listening to kids talking about lighting is that they don’t know shit about it but sounds as if they were experts. It’s really funny.
This comes from a loving place, but I hope future episodes the lav mics aren't peaking so bad! Keep up the great work!

Anyway... Godox is great choice for budget.
I fell in love with Lee and Rosco colour filters. They can make ordinary lights so special.
Love these lighting videos, especially with Kevin! He's such a humble & talented individual!
We agree!
I wish you talked about shutter angles in relation to different projectors. A very important technical aspect!

What projectors were used in this?
This is super creative. Love it
In look 1 how did you get the ceiling lit like that? Was it a board lit with a separate projector and the same video projected?
Top notch content!

could you explain about the frame rate of video that plays with projector?

Was thinking exactly the same
Or just defocus the projector a little would also fix a lot
AMAZING

Hey, any sources to get some good videos to play on projectors?
Can it be dangerous for the sensor of the camera to shoot backlight with a laser projector ?
the canon T3i was my first love.
can anyone tell me the sound that theyre using in the beginning??
VERY GOOD
Thank you!
Current favorite is lighting
Very cool! I wonder if they used a projector in the Neon Demon - Nicholas winding ?
You guys ever thought of including something like the recently discontinued lightform products for projection mapping that integrates with your other lights?
Will these lines happen on 4k projectors like Hisense or LG ones
where can I find those stock videos?
Really cool video, love those video with Kevin ! Can you get us some warning about laser burning camera sensor ? With lot of projector going to Bulb Lamp to Laser technology... this is a huge warning ?
Maybe Justin has some knowledge to share about this.. ?
Thanks,
Take care
where's sound crew? this needed sound. Also, great projector example is the entirety of INSIDE by Bo Burnham.
Ghost Busters said send there Machine back 😂

why didnt yall list the projectors used in description
WHAT'S THE COLOUR PICKER APP HE USES AT 5:42 ? :)
Renting 2 projectors is the secret sauce so you can light your subject separate from the background.
That, and/or keystone correction.
What is the name of that third projector
What do you do if your image is flickering, like it has that rolling flicker thing?
Change the shutter speed?
5:07 what is this tool
What about banding????
The Rigs for ND filters
They never mentioned what projectors to get
Anyone know the song at 8:23? :)
Panasonic PT-RZ12K vidéoprojecteur Laser 12000 Lumens

Keep your eyes peeled for the next B2S video!

Should we be worried about shooting lasers directly into the lens?

@@aputurelighting What about the talent's eyes?

Software count? Sidus link, don't have to move my lazy ass 😂🤘
Lol, Canon AE1 program wasn't a 'basic' film camera. Prosumer level. Trust me, the basic ones at that time would make you cringe.
Let's make the interns and grips wear masks. This is demeaning.
