Man oh man! Just listened to Richard Harris again in his luminous and heartfelt story honoring Kirk Douglas and my God! Mr. Harris, you lovely and crazy and glorious Irishman, your honest respect sprinkled with humble accolades for your childhood idol Mr. Douglas, always brings me to tears! That's not acting, that's pure spirit, love and unabandoned gratitude! Bless Richard, what a class act an Irish treasure shared with the world! Look at Kirk, he was beaming with pride, joy and that energy of life that comes from the thankfulness and respect of another of his acting peers! Outstanding!

Its funny that Danny DeVito hosted this, Richard Harris when working with Russell Crowe on Gladiator had said they would go drinking in his old hunts in his native city Limerick, Harris died before they had a chance to do it together, so to honour his memory Russell Crowe visited Limerick and Harris favourite pub, this all comes full circle when the local chipper which is owned by Danny DeVitos cousins brought Russell Crow some fish and chips to eat

I knew Richard Harri's Cousin a Jesuit Priest who lived in Limerick. every time Richard would come back to Limerick he always sought out Fr. Paddy and instead of saying hello he had the same greeting "Paddy are you still praying for me you're my only hope of getting into Heaven" Fr. Paddy lived to be age 99 so I am certain Richard made it into Heaven. I met him once in Limerick what an amazing story teller I just sat there listening and laughing at his stories.

If RH led a complicated life, and had many facets to his personality--some good, some not--the one facet I always admired was the mind and heart that so truly understood Arthur in "Camelot". He "got it" and knew what the role of Arthur meant to him, literature, musical theatre, and world history. So many thanks to RH and Kirk Douglas for facilitating that.

Mcarthurs Park did or for me, it gives me Chills just thinking about the song, and how Jimmy Webb explains the story behind it . Richard nailed it .

to misquote someone, 'when a man is tired of watching Richard Harris, he must be tired of life'

Amazing, that is true integrity. But anyone who has read the Ragman's Son knows what a man Kirk was.

Loved the story of Harris been given the last rites by the priest and not regretting a minute of his life well lived.
That been said, whether he is above or below, we will never know.

The thing about the actors of old. They really seemed OK being messy, flawed, humans. In fact, it almost seem to propel their careers, to feed them. Nowadays, actors are so determined to be liked and perfect, that they forget that they’re not.
