At time i had less then 3 months of IT experience and had to fix my entire company single handedly. That was a very very long day. Thankfully after about 11 hours i had like 95% of users up and running and back to normal business operations.
For sure, but missing a patch or saving money by not upgrading security infrastructure is so common that (despite being objectively stupid af) it's hard to consider it particularly so..
