- [KiniNews] Bersatu president Muhyiddin Yassin said it is Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim, not Bersatu, who has failed to understand the Federal Constitution.
This is after Anwar accused Bersatu’s leadership of cherry-picking the Constitution when objecting to a ruling by Dewan Rakyat speaker Johari Abdul not to vacate the seats of six former Bersatu MPs.
“I want to ask Anwar, which part (of the Constitution) did I not read?” said Muhyiddin.
Meanwhile, Bersih has claimed that Johari had made a mistake in rejecting Bersatu’s bid to vacate the seats of six MPs whose party membership had been forfeited.
The electoral watchdog asserted that the speaker erred in understanding the mechanism of the anti-hopping law and disregarded the principles and intentions behind the enactment, which may lead to political instability in the future.

I was given to understand that the 6 MPs were sacked. That being the case, the 6 MPs still can hold their positions.
Perkara 49A(1) menjelaskan sebab keanggotaan Dewan Rakyat iaitu AHLI PARLIMEN GUGUR bermaksud seseorang itu telah dianggap melompat parti
(a)(ii) dia tidak lagi menjadi anggota parti itu
49A(2) (c) pemecatannya daripada keanggotaan dalam parti politiknya
Semua 6 ahli parlimen BERSATU tidak lagi menjadi ahli BERSATU kerana dipecat oleh parti mereka
Jelas & nyata mmg Speaker kena kosongkan kerusi..

The Speaker can just be frank to inform the parliament that the govt block can't afford to lose any by-election especially with bigger majority.

Speaker is the boss of Parliament and his/her decision is final. So Bersatu must accept this decision. Besides having 6 by-elections is a very expensive affair and will cause inconvenience to voters, so the Speaker's decision is warmly accepted by the rakyat.
I have a feeling you wont be having the same opinion if PN rules the Dewan😂...and in fact, the speaker is not the 'boss', he or she is administeering the dewan according to the rule, which appears not to be followed in this case.
@@aolkomando69 in case you aren't aware, I am a very principled person who goes by the letter of the law. If PN rules the Dewan, I will still accept the Speaker's decision. Anyway the Speaker calls the shot in the Dewan, and his/her decision is final and cannot be challenged by the courts. So the Speaker is the de facto boss of the Dewan, and he/she even can order the Sergeant-of-Arms to remove unruly MPs.
@@brandenburg2388 the unaware part, concurred (I don't know you😅), which is why I specifically mentioned "I have a feeling"...but I still disagree on the 'boss' part. He/she does not rule based on his/her whim.

No, Muhyiddin got it wrong. Anwar knows and understands the constitutions. But he doesn't care. He is King Anwar, and a king is above the law. A king can do whatever he wants and he can change the law or interpret it however he wants. And did you forget that a what a king wants, a king gets? So he wins. No more questions ask on the topic. Also Muhyiddin is provoking the 3R issue again. King Anwar has spoken. How dare you question the King's words.
