  • In the previous video, we've shown you how we trimmed the aquatic plants last time in this 150cm planted aquarium. This time Balázs Farkas - one of the founders of Green Aqua - talks about the aquarium in details. What type of aquarium plants we used, and why we used them. You also can learn more about the aquarium filtration, lighting, fertilizer program we've used here. Also the live stocks like aquarium fish.
    This aquarium is 3 months old now and looks amazing. Plants are super healthy, no algae problems are there. We need to trim it timely to keep it in shape, but one of the favorite aquarium of our visitors currently, probably because of the plant variety and texture we used. That makes it so special.
    This video is our first attempt to give you a better overview of our systems. So please let us know if you would like to see more of them, and we will go through on some of our tanks in details with our own guide and comments.
    We truly believe, giving an off-the-shelf working solution is the best way to show you how easy it is to manage even a beautiful aquarium like this. We will teach you some tips and tricks along the way, what we've learned in the past decade or so to make your aquascaping journey easier.
    Full plant list:
    Eleocharis Acicularis, Eleocharis Parvula Mini Pusilla, Hemianthus Callitrichoides Pad, Ludwigia Arcuata, Pogostemon Erectus, Rotala Wallichii, Hemianthus Micranthemoides, Tonina Fluviatilis, Limnophila Spec. Vietnam, Ranunculus Inundatus, Marsilea Crenata, Staurogyne Repens, Hydrocotile Verticilata

    A beautiful tank and a beautiful gallery! However, I have a two question for you. What's the thickness of the glass in this tank and what thickness of glass do you recommend for a 160x60x60cm tank? Regards form Poland

    • @GreenAquaShop
      @GreenAquaShop  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thank you for your feedback :) 15mm is the glass thickness here and we do recommend the same for you. If it is glued well it will hold well for many years. If the open top tank is not a must have then some strengthening is useful too on the bottom glass or the top. 15 and 18mm is the only option here without framing.

    Please please make a video on water circulation in the planted tank. Also please explain in detail in what directions and at what points to place the filter inflow-outflow and the CO2 diffuser in order to get the best water circulation and CO2 dissolution.

    • @GreenAquaShop
      @GreenAquaShop  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Ahh, okey, well, we have already detailed that in some of our videos. So basically, for one filter you have to place the in- and outflow on the same side of the tank. The water will enter on the lily pipe at the top, the stream will go along the water surface, go down on the other side of the tank, and back along the substrate towards the intake. So it's a circular movement. The CO2 diffuser is usually place on the opposite side of the tank, where the water flow goes downwards, so the bubbles rising from the diffuser meet the current and they're being dissolved better. If you have a longer tank, then you'll have two filters on two opposite sides with two circles meeting in the middle. It does not matter where you put the diffuser in that case, but I would recommend having a reactor with bigger tanks anyways, on one filter.

    how do you deal with mulm, my tanks used to be killer like that, but it would never last more than a year when bba would take over completely.

    • @GreenAquaShop
      @GreenAquaShop  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      A good filtration helps on this a lot. Here we used 2xEheim 1200XL for this reason. Other than that weekly water change and carpet cleaning needed. Some plants will rot if the temp increase and will indicate problems like Hemianthus C. Cuba etc. So cleaning, care, algae eaters and good filtration if everything else is ok.

  • @1816pinaki
    @1816pinaki 6 ปีที่แล้ว

    Hi
    Best of luck with the gallery ... Its the best among the world.
    In ur video u mentioned the temp of Gallery is beyond 30 degree celcious.
    In India during May June temp of tank reaches 31 degree celcious and as a result the entire scape is gone in few days.
    We wait till rain fall n then again start replanting.. chiller option is there, but its v expensive and running multiple tank with chiller become v expensive.
    Do u have any idea how to deal with such harsh weather ??

    • @GreenAquaShop
      @GreenAquaShop  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Cheers, thanks for your feedback. We really appreciate that. Yeah, warm/hot weather conditions is kind of a major problem for these beautiful underwater gardens. We keep all of our aquariums under 25 celsius with 24/7 air conditioning from may till October. A chiller is a good option if you have a large aquarium which is super sensitive or has expensive livestock in it. Otherwise room air conditioners are better options. Unfortunately, in your case, ventilation is not helpful so you need either a chiller or an air-conditioner. Otherwise, it will be an 8-9 months long aquarium only all the time.

    Hi any way to check or test if canister filter have enough flow ? TQ

    • @GreenAquaShop
      @GreenAquaShop  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Usually a five-fold flow would be ideal at a "normal size" tank (60-90-120 cm) Obviously above that the liters / hour flow rate will decrease, but that's OK. Check what is written on your filter, and take number in consideration. Don't worry about the difference between the real and the on-paper flow.

    Green aqua do you guys use mat for aquarium set up underneath the tanks. I'm in the process of setting up my new tank Komodo tank made from Ada factory. I wanted to know if I should place mat underneath the tank?

    • @GreenAquaShop
      @GreenAquaShop  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes, we always use a mat under our aquariums. To minimize the risk of damage in the glass. You also need to level out perfectly your cabinet or stand to avoid extra pressure on the glass panels.

    • @GreenAquaShop

      One of our tank has that. Very simple. We have an inline diffuser on the pressure side. Hose from the pump. This needs to tweak to have enough CO2 in your tank, but otherwise nothing extra.

    Can I give Ranunculus Inundatus liquid co2 instead of pressurized?

    • @GreenAquaShop
      @GreenAquaShop  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You can, but will not develop that fast. Liquid only adds a very small visible difference to growth. Mostly with stems. I do not think you can see that with plants like ranunculus.

  • @tyrelltaylor5669
    @tyrelltaylor5669 5 ปีที่แล้ว

    What style of aquascape is that? And how can I do it.

    • @GreenAquaShop
      @GreenAquaShop  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Well there is no style name associated with that. But because of the colors and the mix of the foreground plants vs stems vs stones we frequently call this Brazilian styles these days :)
      The video guide explains the tools, plants we used and you also can find it in the description. Other than that you need a lot of plants and plant it densely. Using different stems in the back. A very nice display if you do it well.

  • @nguyenminhquan6376

    Hello , in 5th minute , you talked about the flows. they come from 2 sides to middle and come back.
    How about CO2 , how do you add CO2 to the tank, do you need 2 CO2 reactors following with 2 flows ?

    • @GreenAquaShop
      @GreenAquaShop  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      You can find the accessories in the video description. We use CO2 external reactors. No prob at all with the 2 opposite water direction. The reactor 100% blends in the CO2 into the water.

  • @graykardinal2930
    @graykardinal2930 6 ปีที่แล้ว

    I wonder what is the system for fertilizing with this bottles in the cabinet. Second question is for CO2 inline diffuser or some reactor, how dissolve the CO2?

    • @GreenAquaShop
      @GreenAquaShop  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      We're using GHL Doser 2.1 here. Inline diffuser is not effective for an aquarium size like this. We do use an external co2 reactor. You can see that in the left side of the cabinet next to the filter. With the strong filtration and flow this provides excellent CO2 injection.

    • @graykardinal2930
      @graykardinal2930 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Green Aqua thanks for the answers. In left side on right filter what is this? Inline heater.

    • @GreenAquaShop
      @GreenAquaShop  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      That's the CO2 reactor. Aqua Medic 1000. We're not using heater at all. On the other side of the cabinet there's an UV filter.

    • @graykardinal2930
      @graykardinal2930 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Green Aqua in every aquarium you use UV filter, or only for this? Sorry for the many questions

    • @GreenAquaShop
      @GreenAquaShop  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      We used half of them in the old place. Now only just a few. Still need to hook this up. - The showroom is fresh we have some minor updates like this ahead. UV is helpful sometimes. With all these minor additions you have a perfect result and less maintenance work which is our goal.

    Which water is best for planted tanks ??what's your recommendation? regular tap water or RO water?

    • @GreenAquaShop
      @GreenAquaShop  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      It depends on your tap-water. If it is too hard, or it has a lot of nitrates for example (as in Hungary), then using RO is highly recommended. Don't forget that you need to remineralize RO water, to add back a little Ca and Mg.

    • @sunnydas9223
      @sunnydas9223 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@GreenAquaShop thanks mate..if I use my tap water,it's full of chlorine and chloraminate,it causes cloudiness and may be pH is bit high..any remedy for that?? Is it curable?

    • @GreenAquaShop
      @GreenAquaShop  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      You can remove chlorine and heavy metals by using water treatment - there are quite good products for that, available from Green Aqua too. Cloudiness shows some kind of bacteria imbalance which can easily be caused by killing some bacteria with the chlorine...
      High pH is usually a low-tech tank problem. If you use CO2, that will decrease the pH. Alternatively there are also good products to lower pH. Check these out.

      This is not a cheap hobby if you go this way, but would be the same for a good marine tank too. You can do many part of this cheaper, DIY, plant swapping, buying second hand etc... But just like every hobby if you go after it and the target is this level, it is expensive. BTW my camera which i used to shoot this video cost way more than that. And that is a thing in your hand (even not the best one out there) not a living room experience. :)

      We use them mainly for brown algae, diatom. There they do miracles. With a large number, they are effective on other algae like GDA as well as BBA. Still, for BBA we use manual removal process mainly on infections with tools like the Pro Picker from ADA. In this soft water environment and weekly cleaning and care, BBA is not really an issue for us.
