      Thanks man! No kidding! There were spots coming down towards the highway on that long downhill, I actually put it in neutral and coasted down, I was on fumes by the time I hit Fields Station. But I made it and rewarded myself with a burger and a shake!

    Really enjoyed the video! It's fun watching others perspective of places. We had a similar experience the first time we tried to go to Hart Mt hot springs .

      Thanks! Yeah, there has been quite the influx of people at formerly quiet spots over the last couple years, it is annoying at times but I'm happy people are getting out.

    Just found your channel! Digging it. Very relaxing, and inspiring.
    I am also using a Durango for over-landing. Mine is 1999. So far it has worked well. I did install a Lock Right Locker in the rear diff. And 2inch lift with 32 inch tires.

      Hey thanks for the love 🤙The Durango really is an underrated 4x4 platform. I'm in the process of picking and purchasing a locker for mine as well. I have some very interesting trips planned for 2023 that are unlike anything I've done before, and a locker will make or break the trip.

    Alright. Finally had time to sit and enjoy your adventure. I gotta say, i miss the desert. Im hopjng this year I'll be able to head over the mountains. I actually grew up in Bend. I gotta say, we absolutely have got to hook up this summer. In the second week of July I'll be heading to Waldo Lake for a canoe camp. Hit me up if you're available and wanna join.

      I'll be headed over East in the beginning of July to meet some friends and travel back towards Bend for Overland Expo. Not sure what the rest if the month looks like though. We will get a trip in the books soon!

    Hey my family did this kind of stuff with...ford station wagon, caddilac, carryall. tent camp and had fun. 60's were fun as a kid. Knocked the oil pan out of the ford coming down from Steens Mt. French Glenn waiting for the welding shop to open to fix the pan. Every time I go out there its a fun time. Hell you find all kinds of stuff, rocks...... lot's of rocks. Enjoy

    Used to be that you could go to Hart Mountain and Fort Rock and not see anyone else....before TH-cam

    • @OutandBackOregon
      @OutandBackOregon  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Unfortunately you're not wrong. I agree that TH-cam and other social media has helped open up new sights and destinations for people, but at least people are getting out more. It may create an inconvenience for those who enjoyed secluded places like Hart Mountain before the crowds, but I'm still happy to see people actually get out and see what's around them rather than just watching it on TH-cam.

    Central and Eastern Oregon is our go to place to explore. What month was this filmed? Spring has been wet and cool and I saw a lot of dry trails. I can not tell you how often i have driven many miles on BLM roads to come within sight of the highway and find a gate and sign saying "Private Property, No Trespassing". BLM roads "trails" can be quite rustic. I drove one south of Hart Mountain that was like a dry creek bed. Willow hot springs is one of our favorite hot springs in Eastern Oregon, not too hot or tool cool.

    • @OutandBackOregon
      @OutandBackOregon  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      This was just a couple weeks ago. For it being spring, everything was super dry. Makes me worried for some of these rural communities that rely on the sparse reservoirs out East. Not to mention fire season.

    What do you suggest me doing to my Durango?

    • @OutandBackOregon
      @OutandBackOregon  ปีที่แล้ว

      Sorry I've been behind on comments lately. It is difficult for me to suggest anything to anyone because your rig is exactly that, your rig. It simply has to suit your needs and go where you want to go. Things I've noticed over time, is the ground clearance isn't great so a modest lift and larger tires could be helpful. Recovery points are important too. Whatever is comfortable for you is what I'd suggest.

    Willow springs may not be busy now but wait until later this summer when all the Alvord visitors show up.

    • @OutandBackOregon
      @OutandBackOregon  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      No kidding, I know there are probably as many visitors there in the summer as we see here on the coast. It gets real busy.

      @@Retired-nohurry I couldn't believe how many people were at Hart Mtn, I'm not kidding when I said every site was occupied. It was crazy and not even a holiday weekend yet! Made me really nervous about how many might be at Willow. We lucked out though.

    You keep saying "WE", and then I see you cooking 2 Steaks. What's up with the WE stuff? Half the "Solo Female" van lifers or Campers have their BF's hidden. LOL How many Hula girls are really there?

    • @OutandBackOregon
      @OutandBackOregon  27 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Well, I don't have any hidden BF's or GF's in these videos, lol I think mostly what I do is say "we" as in you, the viewer, and I. I like to pretend that you're all along for the ride when I film :)
      The 2 steaks thing was because I opened the cooler and realized it wasn't exactly keeping things as cool as I'd like and I didn't want the other steak to go bad, so I cooked it and cut it up and used it for sandwiches and steak/eggs another day.
