Brother Brown, as a child I had hard of hearing, visual problems, speech challenges, and learning challenges - dyslexic. As I grew in the gospel and prayed and meditated the truths I heard at church Sundays, partook the sacrament weekly, I was endowed with extra power to overcome my weaknesses and challenges, I found power to read with more care and think and meditate on each word and what they meant. I remember wanting to have a testimony of the truth of the Book of Mormon, the restoration, and our prophet. I was like Nephi, I wanted to know for myself. As I prayed before reading the Book of Mormon and afterwards, the Holy Spirit helped me to read until I was not breaking each word but reading fluently. I was blessed to know how to pray, and what to pray about. I testify I gained a testimony of the desires of my heart. Thank you for this podcast to remind us of the power of the principles of how to bond with our Heavenly Father and his Son, and how to open the heavens.

A relationship with our Heavenly Father takes effort. Meditation, prayer, pondering, and asking questions are actions towards that relationship. Sometimes, I catch myself feeling the Holy Ghost testify of something, and rather than take action, I sit in it. It feels nice! We have to open the door. The more we do this, the deeper our relationship is with him. The more He speaks to us to our spirit.

That was so good, Randy. So important for everyone to understand. It's not about just behaving, it's about becoming. Becoming like Him necessitates hearing Him. Feast upon His words and He will teach you all things what you should do (2 Nephi 32:3). I can bear testimony of the help sacred music plays in getting in what I call a "spiritual zone", a higher level where the veil is thinner and revelation flows more freely. I had to speak in stake conference recently. I begin each session of talk preparation with 30 minutes of listening to tabernacle choir and other sacred music. This time spent in spiritual preparation was so worth it. Thoughts, words, scriptures would pour into my head and made my talk something that I felt I wasn't even the author of. They were His words that I just penned to paper. Choice experience. Similar experiences with prayer. Spending ample time in expressing words of gratitude and praise for His mercy and grace, bring the Holy Ghost into the communion experience. The words you speak become greater than you would be able to express of your own abilities and are powerful. Your faith and confidence before the Heavenly Father soars. For me, my words are full of scriptural phrases, the words of Christ. My teenage daughter was telling me about her own experiences with this. When I discussed this concept of mighty prayer with her, she excitedly said that she knew she had had these experiences because the Holy Ghost made her words sound "smarter than she is". I loved that! So true!

I have been attending the Red Cliffs Utah Temple each Saturday evening and it has been a blessing in my life. I do an endowment session, and after the session, I take to time to just sit in peace and quiet in the Celestial room with no distractions pray, and reflect on more important issues. I truly know that having the Temples so close has been a blessing from our Father in Heaven. I recently had a special moment with my father while performing the baptism of his older brother who wasn't a member, and recently passed away in November of last year. We met at the baptistery after he finished his shift at the Red Cliffs Utah Temple on Friday, and we did the baptism for his brother my uncle. As we were in the baptism font, we both got so emotional it took a little time to proceed with the baptism. It has been a while since I have had an experience like that. I truly know that I will always remember the experience. Temples are built for a specific reason, and it is through temple attendance that we truly gain a more spiritual realization what God's purpose for us in life. I am truly grateful to be able to attend the Red Cliffs Utah Temple each week, and also know that in the times the Red Cliffs Utah Temple is closed, I have another temple close by. The St. George Utah Temple is also close. Jesus Christ is gathering Israel on both sides. I appreciate your videos.

Profound! Even tho our individual paths may vary the same principles hold true. We have to be willing to pay the price. As Jospeh Smith taught, we can revive it only as fast as we are able to receive it. The only limits to our communion with God lie within ourselves. The only way to remove these false beliefs is to acquire light and truth. Ask, seek or search and knock. The Lord will give to as we are able to receive. The more we receive the more broken our hear and contrite our spirit until we are able to receive of His fullness. Alma 12.

Randy, thank you for your excellent content each week. It really gives me cause to think and reflect upon my own witness and how sure it is. Your questions at the start were as unsettling as they were penetrating, but honesty is the best policy. I understand that the questions were potentially rhetorical, but I know I've had a 'born again' type of experience twice. I KNOW that happened to me. That doesn't mean I'm anything special. It's a mighty miracle to me that the Lord or his Spirit, reached down to me, leaving me with Celestial feelings for a short time. Felt like being endowed with light, knowledge and intelligence. I understood, during the first experience at least (and it was Elder Ballard who visited our Stake back in '92 and brought this spirit that I felt) that I was nothing. It's an experience shared by other groups of people and individuals in the scriptures. It is a deeply humbling and unforgettable experience.
I wish I was good at meditation. I don't feel that I am, but I'd like to work on it. Women have a dozen things-to-do running through their minds all the time. It's very hard to be still when the temporal world is so work-demanding. Takes so much discipline to stop. But that word is linked with discipleship, aptly. I'm a 'Martha' rather than a 'Mary' and have desires to do things differently. For anyone who's made it this far, I can only strongly recommend 'Journey to the Veil' by John Pontius. It's an incredible book in my view, and really does help people to increase their faith and offers tools in how to part the veil.

It seems like more and more ppl in the church are acting like we need to have jumped through 4000 hoops to be “saved”. It’s very concerning. I shouldn’t be expecting to HEAR the voice of the Lord.
