That was sick! Just recently caught my first musky. Not a real big one but nevertheless a musky. And I'll be back! I just happen to be good friends with one of the best musky fishing guides in the world.
Such a blood rush. Even more intense for the split second seeing it hit than any hunting adrenaline I’ve ever felt. And if you look close, the Muskie missed with his first strike and changed direction instantly as the lure did and still nailed it. Them and like are wicked fast which is why it’s scary and fun to catch one at the boat like thay
I’m not sure which is more of an adrenaline rush: getting a huge musky to strike during the figure eight or standing up fighting a musky in a boat that looks to be 5 feet wide.
I hooked a 27" pike the same way. But it was a boat dock on a private lake. Some people who lived on this lake told me nobody ever fished this lake so they didn't even harass me. Great times.
you want to keep the fish moving to keep tension and control. on such a short line you can't reel up any farther. if you just hang on versus initiating the fight they can get slack and jump or head shake to come unhooked
Thats as good as it gets.

So cool, this is is why musky fishing is so fun, the hits are like nothing else fishing wise.
Awesomesauce. Nothing really like those at the boat strikes!

Why continue the figure 8 after it was hooked?
