I absolutely loved this. This really makes me wish there was a black voice teachers of America association where we could have these discussions that validate and affirm the science behind black voices.

I think she knows everything that she is doing with her voice, she’s very intentional, I think she just plays around with her voice in song, she’s brilliant enough to pull it All off!

I told her to go to bed and shut up this is my all-time unique rare artistic she is without a doubt in her own lane and under celebrated I would have loved to hear her with Daryl Coley two beasts

I was in Awe seeing her in concert. I've never seen another in concert that can top her. Her Instrument is GOD given and I was Blessed to witness her in person.
I saw her live 20 yrs ago. Gives me chills thinking about it. She an artist like jazmine sullivan. The live performance is better than the album.
Words to live by..."on the other side of fear, is more artistry" We need that on a tee-shirt. I know my dance teacher use to get at me when they saw me pulling back and afraid to step into that next stage of dance artistry.

I’ve seen Rachelle sing I Can Explain multiple times in person and each time she got to “you’ve got somebody else” it felt like the walls around me were gonna fall down because folks were stomping and clapping and leaping up outta their chairs. I’ve never seen anyone absolutely shred an audience’s reserve the way she does. She owns her instrument with 100% intention!

This was probably one of her most scaled back performances. If you EVER get a chance to see her LIVE, it is a MUST! She introduces each band member by vocally battling their instrument! It's so FREAKING EXTRAORDINARY!!! Been to over 20 shows, never the same, yet always stupendous!!!

Her first solo album debuted in 1992 overseas. It wasn't released in the states until 1995. The CD is called 'My First Instrument'. She turned pro before age 13.

I remember Rachelle years and years ago (probably… 2008) here in Milan (Italy). During the show the power went out but she kept the concentration, singing without amplification through the whole song. I was definitely mesmerized by her talent and vocal ability.
The gem of that night for me has been My Funny Valentine: very emotional (with unexpected high notes at the end)! ❤
