    So close but you hit it a tad to soon. Absolutely love the videos and content brother I wait every Thursday for you.

    10:50 The sweep is one way to keep any potential counter attackers from slotting into your slip stream. If they want to make the break with you, make 'em earn it. Or if there's a crosswind hugging the shoulder denies the echelon.

    if it was a right to left cross wind on the finish stretch, the rider likely swept across to the left to prevent anyone who might try to follow him from taking shelter in his draft in the crosswind and then once he had a gap with no one on his wheel, moved back to the right because it looks like there is some tree cover to potentially block a bit of the wind on the right side of the course. He definitely did not need to cut across the front of the field so closely though when he launched his attack, that seemed a bit dramatic and sketchy.

    That was sooooo close! I think you jumped in the best possible time considering the position you were in. That guy in the Verge shorts was second wheel and you were expecting him to follow that first wheel's sprint. Once you noticed he wasn't following, you jumped and had to spend a lot of watts to bridge across. I would've done exactly the same. Nice video, man! Keep it up!

    I've watched you for a while now. Much improved. Have you ever considered road racing with hills? Might fit your power profile better.

    Great fitness, there were some nice numbers in there!
    Brilliant last corner, probably should have stick to the other guys wheel a bit longer. But this is racing, need to decide in a split second.

    Love it, well done. That was nearly a 30 second sprint effort. I would practice long sprints a bunch if this was my local course.

    I would have saved that off the front effort for the last lap. Those guys riding behind you can push 1500w at the end, so only way to really threaten them is with a diesel effort in the last lap. I wanted to do just that, but several teams effectively blocked me from the positioning I needed to get there.

    My season is over, I got sick a couple weeks ago, so I'm still recovering a little bit. Then I found when my chain popped off on the inside of my bike it ground down the bottom bracket so I got to get the frame repair now. Even though it's an older bike, I'm still going to get it repaired because $3,500 for a new carbon bike I can't do 😀.

    The attack at 10:50 sweeps to create a lateral gap. It's not uncommon but if miss timed could be dangerous. From the looks of it he knew what he was doing and executed the attack well. The point of an attack it to create a gap, using the width as well as forward motion. I'd have done the same thing.😊

    Just wondering why you're not on a team or in a club? You are no joke now Bro!! Very strong and knowledgeable. I saw your first video at Floyd Bennett when you didn't even know how to draft. Now a cat 3.

    i think the other yellow jersey was a cat5 guy who raced with the 4s because a lot of cat5 guys missed the cat5 race start (which got pushed up by 30mins). He's a beast of a rider - i think he finished top 10 in this race.
    solid race, man. i wasn't sure how you finished bc i ran out to get my mechanical fixed after the cat5 race. i was like "HOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOLLLL UP!!!! IS CLAUDIO ABOUT TO HIT THE PODIUM?!?>!?!?!?!?!?!?" 😂😂

  • @jeffmurphree2937

    Sorry. I was going to say I would have gone for the lead much earlier on the last lap. Make the big boys chase you and use up their energy to try and catch you. Waiting plays into their hands. It would also help if you had team mates help you with lead outs.

    16:14 yeah this is how I finish a lot of races, you think you're going you think you're getting it, and then you get swarmed and get like 20th place 😀.

  • @sprintking1985
    @sprintking1985 ปีที่แล้ว

    Went to late with the rider who you were chasing but that was just a timing thing and the guy in front who dropped back if that wheel made that gap hard to bridge - if you have made it could have recovered a bit for the final 50meters - great effort though 👍

  • @thisishowthetruthdies684
    @thisishowthetruthdies684 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    So close to catching him and that little bit on draft might have made all the difference. Still, if your heartrate is maxed, there's only so much you can ask your body to do. Very well ridden though. Sitting in for a real field sprint provably wouldn't have gotten you into the top five anyway.

  • @twistedwires7318
    @twistedwires7318 ปีที่แล้ว

    Claudio, you know you're not going to beat the best sprinters, so you did the only thing you could do. Yeah, you could have waited and sprinted with the field for what? 6th? So what. You went after the guy that gapped off the front. If you'd caught his wheel right when he gapped, you might have won. That was your best option. You know you. You're not going to win a field sprint. You need just that little bit of luck and hesitation from the guys behind. Keep trying, man. I am not a sprinter either, but I won the South Carolina RR championship in 2013 because everything went my way that day. That was the only time I got to cross the line first in my racing career. It was so worth the wait after all the other frustrations. I hope you can experience that even once. It was awesome.
