I don't know what possessed me to search "tamagotchi" on TH-cam at this exact moment, but I'm so happy I did. I just pre-ordered the clear retro and am so hyped now for new (old) tamas!

The Connection series of Tamagotchi always used CR2032 batteries. The original p1 and p2 used LR44 batteries (2 needed). The re-release of the p1 and p2 now use one battery----the CR2032 instead of 2 LR44s. The Nanos still use 2 LR44s. (Jan Griffiths).
I preordered mine! Got clear and cream :3 Imma sniff the connection between them and decode it because ✨ ALL NUGGETS MUST BE HACKED ✨

I use to have so many tamagotchis when I was a kid but then just a few years ago I found the tamagotchi ON. Literally was so frustrated when I found out they discontinued it…… I still have it and it still works perfectly….. sooooo tempted to get the connection. lol
Hold “ON” to that tamagotchi, as it really is really becoming an expensive tamagotchi to get a hold of now. Also it has the most awesomeness with mixing of the tamagotchi genes. I love the On/Meets tamagotchi so much.
I also want to see if the new and old V3s and the Japanese Keitai can connect with each other. (Jan Griffiths).

I literally randomly decided to start running my gen 2 tamagotchi and bringing it to work . And all of a sudden connection is being rereleased?? My only gripe is that I wish there was more masculine or classic designs. The new shell designs for recent rereleases sorta remind me of the screen printed swishmallows you’d find in a 5 and below bin.
I’m definitely preorder either a bubbles or the clear one when I get paid 😂
I can understand that people want some more darker colors, you can always try the voting for the japanse ones. They have three darker shell listed a brown, grey and black/white one.

Give it some time, they will go down again. Sometimes Amazon is adjusting their stock levels, so that sometimes temporary increases the price, but they always to back to retail price

I have seen the listing now on Amazon.de, Amazon.fr, Amazon.co.uk, Amazon.es and Amazon.it not on Amazon.nl. They are currently listed as not in stock, but you can add them to your watch list and wait until the stock is there. I could only find the 2 pack

I got a old connection v3 and it does indeed use the same cr2032 battery.
When i get mine i will test if the new one is able to connect with the old one

I was thinking it had english and french on the package because goods that come into canada had to have french too. But it makes sense they put it because tamagotchi is world wide. I wish I could get the other shells too (eventually) Hopefully these will be as popular as the originals have been so they’ll be in stores. Maybe more shells in the future too? And maybe music star?
it looks like they are going to have different shells based on region. Japan for example has 4 different shells and the back of the american packaging, pictured on the amazon listings, says its has Japanese and English built in and you can just choose which language you want.
So when the Japanese ones go up for preorder you should be able to get one of them and just choose english when setting it up!
I wonder if they can connect with original connections?
I don't have an old one, so I won't be able to test, but I bet there are a lot of people out there who will try it, once the new ones are here
We'll have to wait and see since it doesn't say if inter-gen connection works or not. I'm hoping it'll work with my childhood V4.5 Connection. :)
Just commenting again to update you in case you didn't see it yet: The new V3's will not be able to connect to the retro devices. The official Tamagotchi account released a post about it.

I couldn’t find it either but one of the FB tama groups I found had a link to it and I was able to preorder from that. I think there’s a glitch on the website.

Oh no! It is mentioned on the website that it will be a world wide release, Maybe so it should become available soon in other webshops and possible some local toy stores
America seems to have a earlier release than other countries. Japan preorders are not even up yet and they dont release for a full month after the American ones.
also, according the the packaging pictured on the american listings on Amazon, itll have Japanese and English built in so you should, when they go up for preorder, be able to order a Japanese one and just set it to english when setting up :)
They may also have more languages based on region , so id give it a few weeks :)
