I’m a beginner and the Zf is my first non-phone camera. I agree that the retro design is very beginner friendly. I decided to get into this because the camera looked nostalgic retro cool and I wanted to play with dials. Now that it’s been in my hands for a couple weeks, I’m so eager to better learn how to use the dials to affect my shots - and it’s easy to see in real time too. I know I’m a newb, but if the dials weren’t there I’d probably ignore those settings and this new hobby would not be as satisfying and fun.
Loved the video, thanks for sharing your experience! I have two Zfc's which I really love. I am struggling not to buy a Zf, because I know I will then also get several full frame lenses and I will be broke 😅 It seems to be a beautiful camera and I always wished there were more manual controls on the digital cameras, because everything feels faster and easier to me. I'm glad the market is going that way at the moment.
Thanks! My apologies for the late reply - I used a lot of different lenses with the camera, and since it's been awhile since I filmed it I'd have to go back and watch the video to remember exactly which ones I featured in it.
Is it possible to change aperture or shutter speed using the front and back dials instead of the retro dials if you want to (like the non-retro Nikons)?
@@alexandersulzbacher4051 how does that work with say shutter speed dial set to 1/500 but then you change it with the front dial? Does the front dial now override what the shutter speed dial says?
@@PJ-om2wq normally you have to put the shutterspeed Dialog to C, than you are able to Set the speed with the Dial, if you are is S Mode for example. I dont think there is a possibiliy to overwrite like your proposal. Bot sure.
@@alexandersulzbacher4051 okay that makes sense. So the C setting means that it's like any other Z camera. This is cool because you get manual controls but whether you actually want to use them is optional.

Glad to hear you're enjoying the camera, and congrats on your first non-phone camera!
Should have gotten a film camera
Those macro shots look great. Have been practicing with mine today, love the colours from it.
I really do love the way it renders colors!

Thank you, I'm glad you enjoyed the video!
I can certainly vouch for the bank account draining perils of full frame lenses lol.
What is the brand/model of your camera strap? Thanks.
Nice shots Andy! What Z-Mount lenses were you using? I thought I saw the 24-120/4 and the 105/2.8 in there but couldn’t clearly identify the others.

I love my blue Zf! cheers
