For some reason they are TERRIFIED of letting L/N sing super high or changing the pitch for them so it sounds more natural, and a lot of their covers suffer for it, especially in covers like Teo where the super high notes are the selling point (as well as l/n covers in general having a VERY weirdly tuned Miku) I will say I 100% disagree with you on Chururia and Nikkori, and Doctor Funk Beat should’ve been on this list, especially with how they butchered Kaito’s tuning.
I agree with the majority of these especial a good chunk on l/n covers. The main thing you notice is it's mostly earlier covers when the Proseka team vouldn't get as much fan feedback along with learning how to style the covers. Leo/need meanwhile need to both choose better songs to cover that fit their range and aesthetic which most current ones don't and letting other members sing larger parts. (ex. Hello, world where the other members sang like once?)
Forgot to add but you can see the effect of the producers learning how to structure cover with full/album versions where most if not all are better than the original
I ESPECIALLY AGREE WITH THEM LEAVING OUT ALL OF THE OTHER L/N MEMBERS! way 2 many ichika and miku songs. i mean it makes a bit of sense bc ichika is such a huge miku fan and literally bought her voicebank. but theres way too many ichika and miku songs. for example, shiho's voice is so beautiful, literally imo the best in the game, but she barely gets any songs and you have to but her covers from the shop (ofc i dont mind anything for shiho!!). another example, wasnt unnamed harmony saki's event, but she barely got lines in from tokyo (the song for HER OWN EVENT?) also roki is originally rin and a man, but ofc leo/needs cover had to be ichika and miku. (personally i thought i wouldve been cute if maybe saki convinced tsukasa to sing with them? or maybe len or kaito instead of miku) they srsly overdo ichika and miku. justice for shiho and saki and honami!!!!!
The thing with meteor pulse is just that i don't think leo/needs version is bad at all, its just that the vocaloid version is soo unexpected well tuned thats why its better

Yes, ECHO is such a downfall, yeah I love VBS but the mixing wasn’t the best for me, I love how Luka sound in it tho. Gumi just did it better that’s all. ECHO was and is my one of fav vocaloid songs that’s why I was quite disappointed when I heard the cover :( I feel like quite much fans of PjSekai can agree that ECHO wasn’t best cover at all
These are actually... pretty good takes for the most part. The abundance of Leo/Need does say something though, lol. I’m (only a little) surprised Beat Eater and Awake Now are on the list though. VBS slayed those songs, Anhane in particular in both, but the vocaloid version ALSO slap. What shocked me more is actually the abundance of Niigo commissioned songs.
I agree with this list so much! I'm not sure if it's because she's my favourite vocaloid but personally I think it's hard to cover vflower songs as her voice bank is so unique, especially songs like bocca della verita and Charles. The covers are great but I just love flowers voice lmao

Nah bro, Kanade's "Hated by life" is just masterpiece to me. The "airiness" in Kanade's vocal is just a perfect match for depressing song as such. In other hand, Iori Kanzaki's Miku somehow sound like a weird fusion beetween MEIKO and Luka to me, I can't barely recognized it as Miku
Once I heard Kyaami’s tuning in Lost One’s Weeping, I knew it would be one of the best alternates in the game!! Especially considering how the main cover came out- I agreed with most of this list!!! Also, sure the original and Sekai cover of Paiii.Sensation is alright, but there’s a Chinese cover with Tianyi, Ling, and Yanhe and it blows them both away!!
when i first heard all the songs i didnt pay attention to whether the tuning was good or if i liked it 💀 i was too focused on playing 💀 so i don't have any opinion or what to say so yeah but sometimes i prefer some vs singers on some songs or the prsk singers over the other one cause i always 50/50 so i agree with alot on the list especially deep sea lilys tale and echo

Is it wrong that I love Balloon's self covers of Charles and Nomad better than the original VS version? I still like the Proseka version of those better (the Mizuena cover of Charles is ironically the reason why I like the two a lot) but Balloon's self cover is just filled with so much emotions because he was the one who made the songs.

Sure some of the producers seem to shy to sing their own songs but the self covers I've heard just gives the song a whole different vibe, like Balloon's covers makes Charles and Nomad feel very different (it's also worth noting that his self cover of Charles has more views than the original VS version), and his cover of Nomad is imo more melancholic sounding than either the Proseka and VS version.
Meirieux's OG will always be what I favor tbh! Miku's tuned so delicately that it gives that perfect feeling of a voice wavering on the brink of tears! 😭
Teo, Hibana, Dramaturgy, Ghost Rule, Miracle Paint and Romeo & Cinderella are songs that you're 100% obligated to play on the Vocaloid ver or perish 🔫🔫🔫
Leo/Need has difficult to cover songs - they all demand either high ranges (Ichika's VA does have it, but still sometimes even her voice can't take such high notes), or specific... atmosphere to them? the kind of atmosphere that only vocaloids can give. That doesn't make Leo/Need's versions bad. They're just not as good as VS's.
For me, the difference in quality between the two versions of "The World Hasn't Even Started Yet" is small, and I listen to both of them all the time. But I do prefer the vocaloid version a little more. For "Ready Steady" and "Dance Robot Dance" I absolutely prefer the SEKAI versions and idk why
i think kanade’s voice is a lot more gentle, especially during the chorus? just a guess. i love the distress in miku’s tuning, i hold kanade close to my heart but the vs version is just so good
I can't seem to agree with Nikkori Chousatai time no Theme and Nomad (kinda too acoustic vibes for me). Most of the songs, I actually haven't listened to the Original ones like Chururira Chururira Daddadda (correct me if I misspelted it) and Happy Synthesizer. And I was actually shook when Mairieux appeared, I've actually never heard that song up until now... But the ones I can agree with is... [1], Echo, Vampire, Dreamin' ChuChu, Six Trillions Years and Overnight Story, Lost One's Weeping, Teo, Roki, Deep-sea Lily's tale, Charles and Lower.
I do agree with a good 50% of these but I HEAVILY and I mean HEAVILY disagree on most of the 25ji songs, I may be biased but imo Lower sounds so much better in the sekai version. May just be my opinion tho 🤷♀️

I agreed with a lot of em! especially lost one's weeping, teo, ghost rule, roki, echo, hated y life itself, etc! but some of em I did disagree with *but that's because of my own personal taste *. Like how I prefer the sekai cover for 1 because god damn Shiho's voice is angelic and sometimes I'll just have it stuck in my head for ages ;; bought her cover but I still really like the variety in voices from the og version (probably because it's so short in game ;;;) chururira chururira daddadda is fair! i freakin love both but I think they killed it in the sekai ver, too! that sentiment also extends to nikkori chousatai no theme because they're both so feel good I do really like both versions of "the world hasn't even started yet" though! To me, they feel like completely different songs if that makes sense? the sekai cover was cheerful and matched their whole theme while the virtual singer ver. was so distinctively Pinocchio-P- in how you can really tell that it was their song because of the tuning? if that makes sense at all sorry sorry. I did also like the sekai cover to lower tho since I was first introduced to the song from the fuwa mafu cover (plus I think 25 ji sounds nice) I do highly highly agree with tricologe though because me me big nilfruits junkie but I'll admit I think about that really really tiny miku solo in the sekai ver. a bit too often. HARD AGREE on Cosmospice, the sekai version changes the key too much and I just prefer PinocchioP's tuning overall... also I thought you didn't like vflower :0 (I personally would have also added Bocca Della Verità here because that tuning is screeching and I love it for that song...)

When it comes to some WxS songs, I mostly prefer the sekai version because 1) they completely nailed the emotions of Joy in the voice 2) the whole group singing made it balanced And not ear-tearing like when it Is only in high tones. Surprisingly they're quite balanced even through many people Are angry at Emu's voice sounding childish And complaining that they cannot hear anyone else through her. But that Is just my opinion since I'm overly sensitive to music. Of course there Are many I agree with, there Are also some I don't because it just doesn't sit well with me.

honestly, as someone who holds the Very Controversial opinion of Not liking VFlower i prefer the sekai versions of a lot of flower originals (charles, bocca della verita, etc.)
Flower sounds awful imo, like I respect everyone’s opinion and everyone has different tastes yada yada yada but at the same time I listened to actual Bocca Della Verita after LOVING the Sekai ver and it made my ears bleed, like I don’t see the appeal in the slightest. And I had never heard their Charles version until this video and holy 🤢
For me it really depends. I like a lot of Kairiki Bear or Ghost songs per se that use Flower, but I'm not too big of a fan of other uses (Charles is a good example.) I think it really depends on the song and tuning. Mostly I prefer Mikoto though.
I feel like I either strongly agree with some of these, strongly disagree or I’m in love with both versions. Like with lost ones weeping the rin ver and the len ver are definitely better than the sekai version. Most of them tho I love both versions. I don’t really like V Flower that much tho, the voicebank just sounds really choppy to me and most of the songs using their voice bank don’t really sound good in the original flower ver but all the covers are amazing.
I agree with a lot of these…. BUT I do disagree with Metamo Re:Born and ID Smile. I love both version or Metamo Re:Born, but I really love the Sekai version of it. I absolutely LOVE Sekai’s version of ID Smile. That song was stuck in my head for months when I first started playing 😭

I agree SO MUCH with Angel’s Clover, Dreamin’ ChuChu, Becoming Potatoes, and Beat Eater. I didn’t expect these Vocaloid covers to be SO good that I think that these Vocaloid covers are better than the SEKAI Covers.

shiho's voice is so beautiful, literally imo the best in the game, but she barely gets any songs and you have to but her covers from the shop (ofc i dont mind anything for shiho!!). another example, wasnt unnamed harmony saki's event, but she barely got lines in from tokyo (the song for HER OWN EVENT?) also roki is originally rin and a man, but ofc leo/needs cover had to be ichika and miku. (personally i thought i wouldve been cute if maybe saki convinced tsukasa to sing with them? or maybe len or kaito instead of miku) they srsly overdo ichika and miku. justice for shiho and saki and honami!!!!!

Yes, ECHO is such a downfall, yeah I love VBS but the mixing wasn’t the best for me, I love how Luka sound in it tho. Gumi just did it better that’s all. ECHO was and is my one of fav vocaloid songs that’s why I was quite disappointed when I heard the cover :( I feel like quite much fans of PjSekai can agree that ECHO wasn’t best cover at all

I still like the Proseka version of those better (the Mizuena cover of Charles is ironically the reason why I like the two a lot) but Balloon's self cover is just filled with so much emotions because he was the one who made the songs.

Sure some of the producers seem to shy to sing their own songs but the self covers I've heard just gives the song a whole different vibe, like Balloon's covers makes Charles and Nomad feel very different (it's also worth noting that his self cover of Charles has more views than the original VS version), and his cover of Nomad is imo more melancholic sounding than either the Proseka and VS version.

Leo/Need has difficult to cover songs - they all demand either high ranges (Ichika's VA does have it, but still sometimes even her voice can't take such high notes), or specific... atmosphere to them? the kind of atmosphere that only vocaloids can give.
That doesn't make Leo/Need's versions bad. They're just not as good as VS's.

For me, the difference in quality between the two versions of "The World Hasn't Even Started Yet" is small, and I listen to both of them all the time. But I do prefer the vocaloid version a little more. For "Ready Steady" and "Dance Robot Dance" I absolutely prefer the SEKAI versions and idk why

I did also like the sekai cover to lower tho since I was first introduced to the song from the fuwa mafu cover (plus I think 25 ji sounds nice) I do highly highly agree with tricologe though because me me big nilfruits junkie but I'll admit I think about that really really tiny miku solo in the sekai ver. a bit too often. When it comes to some WxS songs, I mostly prefer the sekai version because
1) they completely nailed the emotions of Joy in the voice
2) the whole group singing made it balanced And not ear-tearing like when it Is only in high tones. Surprisingly they're quite balanced even through many people Are angry at Emu's voice sounding childish And complaining that they cannot hear anyone else through her.
But that Is just my opinion since I'm overly sensitive to music. Of course there Are many I agree with, there Are also some I don't because it just doesn't sit well with me.

For me it really depends. I like a lot of Kairiki Bear or Ghost songs per se that use Flower, but I'm not too big of a fan of other uses (Charles is a good example.) I think it really depends on the song and tuning. Mostly I prefer Mikoto though.
I feel like I either strongly agree with some of these, strongly disagree or I’m in love with both versions. Like with lost ones weeping the rin ver and the len ver are definitely better than the sekai version. Most of them tho I love both versions. I don’t really like V Flower that much tho, the voicebank just sounds really choppy to me and most of the songs using their voice bank don’t really sound good in the original flower ver but all the covers are amazing.

Note : For most of the songs I listened to the Sekai version before the orignal version, espiecially the commissioned one, I say that 'cause I think it actually explains on why I like the Sekai version more than the orignal one, I listened to the Sekai version before the Orignal one (Or not), so I got used to the Sekai version more than the original (But it's just a theory, A GAME THEOR-)

I do agree with most of the Leo/need covers although I do really love their cover of tale of the deep sea lily
I was expecting this to be debatable... just in some WxS and 25N covers I would say that the SEKAI ver. are better. Overall, you have the reason in a lot of these.

but the spoken verses work more with four people, since their voices can be easily distinguished, whereas the original only uses rin and len. still mad that the SEKAI version didn't use Rin or Len
marieux is a hard agree for me, it might be the mixing but having two of the softer voiced 25-ji vocalists made them almost inaudible
