@@aslamnurfikri7640 maybe someday. As of now from what I understand international travel into and out of Japan is still heavily restricted. But at the same time, a LOT of great content is coming out of Japan because those living there are doing pretty much all of their filming within the country itself. Less international tourists makes it a lot easier to film a lot of beautiful locations that would otherwise be overrun with tourists. Kyoto has been quieter than it has been in decades, but the upside is that people are filming it more freely and able to show the whole world why they should visit someday!
It never ceases to amaze me the cleanliness and pride of Japan, whether it s a ferry, Shinkansen, local train, plane, bus, taxi, always so clean. Inspirational.
I've recently discovered your videos and love them. I've always felt a pull towards Japan but being in the USA it was always out of reach for me financially. Your videos allow me to see how special the water is for Japan. To my knowledge, there is no service comparable to the ferry services in Japan in the States. I still would love to see Japan as a tourist someday. Keep the videos coming!
Same I just recently found this channel and I’m a new subscriber. The only place I could think of something similar might be Hawaii. I’ve take ferries a few times on Lake Michigan, but I’ve only taken short rides from Door County to Washington Island. Longest Ferry I ever took was From New Zealand’s North Island to South Island. That was a massive ferry with movie theaters. But still only about 5 hours
There are some ferries in NJ, Delaware, Virginia & Maryland, but they are short rides and usually only offer snacks and drinks for the trip. However, there are river cruises that you can book in the coastal states and down south. They are sometimes overnight and offer entertainment as well as food and accommodation. Some of them are affordable and you can buy packages that include the bus trip to the boats. 😊
The continental US is contiguous, so there isn’t a geographical need for transportation like this. But Japan is a network of thousands of islands, big and small.
@@darkprose When you think about it, it's surprising that there isn't something similar to this to get to Hawaii - not a luxury cruise ship, but a more practical ferry, both for transporting personal freight (think moving houses, bringing your car) and for a fun experience. I'm sure there are ferries between the Islands, and I know there are some in Alaska (although still nothing like this).
A lot of the solo Japan travel channels do an excellent job of showing how to travel on a budget. They really show that traveling in Japan can be within reach for a lot of people as long as they don’t mind taking the slower modes of transportation and staying in things like capsules. I like this guy because he stays in everything from capsules to luxurious suites, and it looks like a lot of fun.
The balcony direct view of the sea is awesome (with or without the table and chair), I could imagine myself sitting on the floor with a mat, slurping my morning coffee while enjoying the sunrise and then go back to sleep :P It's actually funny when you say that you'll edit it out but still keep the whole towel search as is and when you apologize to the bear after hurting it and put the bear to sleep in the fridge is just hilarious. :D
*sees "Guarana" on the White Bear label* "Oh no, is he going to be able to sleep? 😅 ...I guess so!" I was startled by how much the table (and the food on it) were vibrating. Ferry go nyoom!
That's not too unusual even on large cruise ships, especially if the dining room is in the aft part of the ship where the engines and propellers are found.

The comforter cover looks like a fitted sheet or mattress cover, only put on upside down. Our comforters (we sometimes call them duvets, a French word I think) are completely covered by our protective covers. :) Hello from Ontario, Canada.
No matter how I try, I'm always wrestling with duvet covers! Burrito method or no, it always fights back. I was once found by a housemate with just my feet sticking out of the slot at the short end trying to get the upper corners to sit. It looked as if the duvet was trying to swallow me alive.
This is my favourite episode so far. The towels bit and the white bear bit had me lolling. I was a bit concerned with how shaky the ship was. Maybe it is because it is a older ship. Anyway, thanks for sharing. Cheers from Australia.👍
I'm watching from Australia as well. I actually think this cabin looks more comfortable than the more expensive ones, but that's probably because I prefer a 'retro' feel. I wouldn't mind giving up a few luxuries if it meant getting an older, more 'authentic' experience but that's just me.
Lol esp when he had breakfast and you could see the plates rattling like heck and that was a calm day he said ? Wonder if it's bc the boat was doing up to 30 knots too most do 15-20 max
As always a great video. The room looked cozy. The fact the room had it's own bathroom made it worth the cost. The food looked delicious. You do cruises the way I would. Short breaks between eating around the ship.

It's all very nice! I like the comforter covers -- easy to keep the comforter clean without wearing out the comforter with washing. Wish we'd had that when my kids were little
Man, your videos always have great little jokes on them, but this one was extra funny! Looking for towels inside the fridge and the bear drink cracked me up. Also, no comforter covers here in Brazil.
I love your sense of humor and how it shows in your videos. The Bear says "I can't see!" and "He is mean!" Adorable! Thank you for another great trip! 💖
To answer your question: no, we do not have this kind of comforter covers in Germany… And thanks a lot for the video, I must admit I really love your clips 👍🏻😊
My daughters and I stumbled upon your videos by accident a few weeks ago. Now we are planning our fantasy trip to Japan, hopefully to become a reality in a year or so. Thank you so much for your sweet humor and lovely videos that are medicine for the weary soul. My new favorite! ❤️❤️❤️

What a lovely cabin ! That doona cover looks more like what we use in Australia for a fitted sheet on our bed mattresses. Great to have your own balcony too.
@@Roadent1241 It's your top sheet. It's very practical and very fast to change. It also means that your duvet and top sheet aren't going to go in different directions as they often do when they're separate pieces. Much easier to change than a full duvet cover. I REEEEEALLY wish that style of sheet/cover was available easily outside of Japan and Korea.
@@lannifincoris6482 Spannbettllaken, well I don't know German, but it sort of makes sense, because the literal translation to English is "fitted sheet" ( according to google translate ) 😊
Thank you for taking us along with you on another journey! It seems that there are many ferries connecting almost all important cities in Japan. In 2015 my wife and I visited Otaru. A small town with a lot of history. Once famous for it's fishing industry, especially for processing herring. And famous for it's glass industry. At Otaru main railway station you can still see many old glass lanterns. We enjoyed our trip to Otaru very much, had a lot of excellent fish meals and Sushi, and, of course, too much yummy Hokkaido ice cream 😂 As a souvenir we bought very nice, hand-blown drinking glasses.
My grandma used to have similar covers (not exactly the same - hole was a bit smaller and in dimond shape, in translation it was called the "envelope cover") currently I don't see them anymore.
Exactly, like 40 years ago in Poland it was quite common type of covers without buttons or zippers. Sometimes decorated with handmade lace or embroidered hem
Exactly! I wonder about other countries (I'm also from Poland)... I imagine that this type of covers was common in the past but I do wander whether it's still being commonly used somewhere nowadays.
I always enjoy seeing new videos. It'd be really nice to see more of other methods of transportation displayed and possibly other hotel-type stays. Keep up the good work!
This kind of comforters was quite common in Russia (and neighboring countries) during Soviet times and for some noticeable time after the collapse of the USSR. I believe that they can still be used by some grandmas in small towns and villages. Also, thanks for your videos - I discovered them recently and they are very relaxing))
Been marathoning your videos ever since they were recommended by YT. Love the style you choose to film! Thanks for helping me get over my jetlag from my overseas trip!
I looked into this ferry going from my Apartment in Kyoto to the Snow Festival in Sapporo. However I flew from Kansai International to New Chitose because it was cheaper, however because of a delay I arrived after the trains stopped for the night, I ended staying in a hotel at Kansai International costing me more.
You are getting funnier on every video buddy, very entertaining 😁 😄 Anyway, It seems that the ship vibrate heavily. Arigatogozaimashita for taking us 🙏
No, I've never seen a comforter cover like that. I guess it replaces the top sheet. How does the cost compare to a comparable hotel room? It seems like a pretty good deal.
The food looks great and so affordably priced. In the US, on a captive ferry like this you'd be lucky to get greasy burgers and hot dogs for the same price.
The rest of the world has not yet (and hopefully never will) thrown everything over to the American concept of increased profits at whatever cost. The only thing ever considered in the U.S. is the bottom line. Makes it a relief to take a break and get out of the country when I can. Go someplace where people still have the concept of value and quality for the sake of value and quality.
We have duvet covers here in Canada, which are like huge pillowcases that button or zip shut. Seeing the comforter covers on the ferry explains the appearance of the futon item in Animal Crossing!
I love how you make these japan trips accessible for us non japanese people (since i dont see many japanese comments mostly english) its very calming and entertaining.
Compared to ferries in Europe, Japanese ferries look very modern, efficient and clean. At the same time many of them feel strangely 'dead'. Over here, you would typically find large shops, bars, bands, people hanging out on deck, people dancing, lotteries, bingo, etc... It must be a cultural difference. Maybe the Japanese (or most of them) don't really like the ocean and see crossing it not as enjoyable but as a pure necessity
@@SheeplessNW6 that cannot be the reason. As you can see, the facilities on board are designed for just the type of environment that I described and all the ships were designed pre-covid. Also, I have been on Japanese ferries pre Covid: Same.
I founds your videos a couple of weeks ago, really like it. I watch them every night before i go to sleep. It helps me to relax very much, thanks!....greetings from Holland!

It's all very nice! I like the comforter covers -- easy to keep the comforter clean without wearing out the comforter with washing. Wish we'd had that when my kids were little
And I could never seem to get duvets to work. Would go to pull up the comforter and get only a handful of duvet. Nope.
Man, your videos always have great little jokes on them, but this one was extra funny! Looking for towels inside the fridge and the bear drink cracked me up. Also, no comforter covers here in Brazil.
Recovering from major depression that destroyed my life and your videos make me relax so much and feel good, thx from the heart
Since the deck doesn't have a table or chair, are the laminated notes on the desk and table 'Please don't bring furniture out onto the balcony'?
I love your sense of humor and how it shows in your videos. The Bear says "I can't see!" and "He is mean!" Adorable! Thank you for another great trip! 💖
To answer your question: no, we do not have this kind of comforter covers in Germany… And thanks a lot for the video, I must admit I really love your clips 👍🏻😊
Try your fitted sheets for mattresses for a "genuine" japanese feeling 😂
@@peter_althoff 🤣
My daughters and I stumbled upon your videos by accident a few weeks ago. Now we are planning our fantasy trip to Japan, hopefully to become a reality in a year or so. Thank you so much for your sweet humor and lovely videos that are medicine for the weary soul. My new favorite! ❤️❤️❤️
Thank you for making those videos. They are very calm and relaxing. Your comments made me smile many times, especially the bear part haha.
It really makes me want to travel alone somewhere quiet with few people :)
I've never seen that type of comforter cover before. It looks like a nice way to keep things hygienic.
I love your videos. You have convinced me to travel by ferry the next time I am traveling around Japan. Thanks 👍
The food close ups make my mouth water! Kek! I would love to travel with you. Another great video!
Living vicariously through your videos, tomodachi. I could totally do what you're doing. It would be living my best life. That's why watching your videos bring me so much delight & satisfaction. Given the current situation with we-know-what, through you, I'm sailing the sea (my childhood dream) in a country I learned to love (having worked there twice). Domo Arigato Gozaimashita.🧔
I have never seen a comfotor style like that before, it looks like it hugs you!
What a lovely cabin !
That doona cover looks more like what we use in Australia for a fitted sheet on our bed mattresses.
Great to have your own balcony too.
I wonder why the quilt needs a 'mattress' cover that leaves out a chunk in the middle?
@@Roadent1241 I think for a start it makes it faster to change the cover.
Secondly, it uses less material to make one
@@Roadent1241 It's your top sheet. It's very practical and very fast to change. It also means that your duvet and top sheet aren't going to go in different directions as they often do when they're separate pieces. Much easier to change than a full duvet cover. I REEEEEALLY wish that style of sheet/cover was available easily outside of Japan and Korea.
In Germany we use covers like this also on a matress. We call it "Spannbettlaken" (Spann-Bett-Laken)
@@lannifincoris6482 Spannbettllaken, well I don't know German, but it sort of makes sense, because the literal translation to English is "fitted sheet" ( according to google translate ) 😊
From the bottom of my heart, thank you for that sun rise view at 12:30, so beautiful.
We enjoyed our trip to Otaru very much, had a lot of excellent fish meals and Sushi, and, of course, too much yummy Hokkaido ice cream 😂
As a souvenir we bought very nice, hand-blown drinking glasses.
These videos are fantastic to watch. Much obliged to you for uploading them and taking the time to make them in the first place.
Always enjoy watching your videos, mate. Hello from 🏴🇬🇧
I chanced upon your videos 2 days ago and I enjoy watching them very much. Makes me reminisce my 1 month stay in Japan way back in 1985!
Thank you for another wonderful video! I hope that you are able to relax in between your travels!
Hahaha, he misspelled beer to bear twice!
Ten seconds later......
It's a bear.
always enjoy seeing another video pop up. thank you again for a fun glimpse into your life
I actually like those style of slip on covers for the comforters; easier to keep clean and fresh.
👍🏼 A great way to begin a journey to Sapporo! Beautiful ship, comfy balcony room! Thanks, nice! 😎✌🏼
The food looks great and so affordably priced. In the US, on a captive ferry like this you'd be lucky to get greasy burgers and hot dogs for the same price.
And here I thought the price for foods in Japan is much more expensive compare to here in Indonesia.
I really enjoy your video's! They are so relaxing to watch. Makes me want to travel
i like the vibes of that ship
I love your videos so much. Don’t ever change. I love your sense of humor.
I did this trip when I was a teacher in Japan, both ways. Then, I went to Fukuoka by local trains because of the student fare ticket. It was fun! lol!
Thank you for another gorgeous sunrise!!
We have duvet covers here in Canada, which are like huge pillowcases that button or zip shut. Seeing the comforter covers on the ferry explains the appearance of the futon item in Animal Crossing!
Yessss, I also immediately thought of the Animal Crossing futon item 😂💚
I love how you make these japan trips accessible for us non japanese people (since i dont see many japanese comments mostly english) its very calming and entertaining.
Compared to ferries in Europe, Japanese ferries look very modern, efficient and clean. At the same time many of them feel strangely 'dead'. Over here, you would typically find large shops, bars, bands, people hanging out on deck, people dancing, lotteries, bingo, etc...
It must be a cultural difference. Maybe the Japanese (or most of them) don't really like the ocean and see crossing it not as enjoyable but as a pure necessity
Or it's just COVID
The Japanese just aren’t vulgar.
Your videos have me looking up ferry routes in my part of the world (North Sea, Baltic Sea) and planning fantasy trips. Not going to happen in a while because of the money, but it's fun to get inspired. Please keep them coming, I love these travel videos ❤️
Never sern a comforter cover like those, I thought the colored part was a design not the comforter below, till you touched it. It's amazing to see the ferries there though.. Id love to have such things here in Florida
Beautiful sunrise!
