I feel like a lot of people miss in this episode is what was going on with Yuki and that was the most interesting thing about the episode. Yuki is most of the time the quickest thinking person in the story, usually you get a smirk and she sets her plan in motion. This episode she was overthinking which is out of character for her. That coin toss seemed to take forever for her. The best part of this show was always the interaction between the characters.

I couldn’t agree more with every point here! I’m very disconnected from social media so I don’t have this issue but I know it exists. My one friend at work says stuff like this when we talk about anime and I just don’t agree with that viewpoint. I’d much rather have a slow burn with interesting characters who actually develop over time rather than breakneck pacing at the cost of actual character growth. But that’s just me

I really liked the pacing of Season 1 and how it ended! No doubt that Alya, Masachika...griwth journey will be even more amazing in Season 2!
    Great video of Analysis, Espiritu!
    Keep it up!

The season 1 was a buildup so ofcourse it will have a weak ending. Season 2 and onward is what we have to focusing on.

For me as ln reader, i personally think that the ending is kinda weak because some skip content especially some nice scene. For example:
    - the dance flashback
    - the scene where alya check kuze's temperature
    - kuze speech about taniyama and nonoa joining and lack of member problem in student council
I think here are a few more but those are the one that i remembered the most. This is just my opinion tho

None of those 3 would have changed peoples views on the episodes or the anime, people thinking it would are couping haha
Also "the dance flashback" this changes nothing for the finale episode, which u gave as examples on why the ending felt weak.
And I hate to be that person but we need to be lucky they even spent 12 episodes on 3 volumes because most Rom Coms get 4 to 5 volumes rammed into 12 episodes.

Anime: Proceeds at a fairly normal, casual pace, ending on a victory on the road to objective completion and setting up what's to come.
Anime Community: WHY ISN'T THE ENTIRE PREMISE OF THE SHOW RESOLVED AND OVER IN ONE 12 EPISODE SEASON?!? REEEEEEEE!

If it weren't for the fact that it isn't ending here it would be instantly mid when dramatically biased in its favor

I mean it was a bit weak but I won’t go all drama queen and say: “oh it’s over already? With no kiss or a love confession? And worst not a great final battle ending?” No actually, the journey was very good, and that’s the important thing. Having a season when they pace the volumes very well, things like this happen and that’s ok. I also let this slag mostly because they already confirmed a second season so that’s a very good excuse. Overall it’s a very good show, a 8/10, it probably go to a 9 when the second season comes.

If Season 1 was 2 cours, people would be acting very different. Problem is people are used to Season 1's been the end of the road for anime only fans so they want some big bang.

I rather have more slow paced animes and in fact I would be furious if my favorite LN -Ascendance of Bookworm coming new season would skip vital LN stuff like most of those who love that LN, I couldn't care less about only anime watchers.

This show after episode 1 was incredibly weak, boring and hard to believe. This isnt how highschoolers talk or act, not even in a comedy. Characters have 0 growth or depth. All the worst tropes are here, like the mc afraid of women, antisocial hot girl, missing parents. There is never a developed or older romantic relationship and how it works or what are the problem. It is alway the courting phase stretched to ridiculous lengths and the low iq comedy elements like a boy screaming because their hands touched.

Issue is more to do with Payoff than slow nature. The payoff doesn't need to be huge , it could be some story progression or character development , change in character dynamics or status quo. But show barely had those , it was only setting things up without some kind of payoff.
Other LN adaptations like Days with my stepsister and Makeine so far does a far better job Alya-san despite adapting same amount of vols.
But I think it is partially the fault of source too. It takes of time to resolve things. Last time I heard from LN readers and they were saying that few things are still dragging 9 vols in.

I'm sorry but I get the feeling were both watching different shows at this point....
I think its simple like I said in the video there is development, u just don't like what the development is so ur pretending there is none as to have a point on why u don't like it. Because there was development, just as I said in this video u wanted some major over blown thing.

@@Espiritu_Analysis That's a poor excuse when shows like Kaguya-sama S1 didn't had huge development either yet people were praising it way more. And what development Alya S1 had? Apart from Alya being get better at flirting with Masa and Masa getting serious there was barely any meaningful development.

in my eyes the series has a mayor problem not with pace or side characters but the main characters, they are both boring to watch and the depth they have is not enough to make up for that, which also makes the whole election thing uninteresting. I can see how for some people thats enough but it isnt for me, no matter how complex a character is, if the series doesnt make you care for him/her then is natural that you wont care for what they are doing (the election in this case).
Like i said in another video, i think you fail to approach the people who are not enjoying the series by putting them in categories like tik tok mentality or things like that, basically going personal when is not necessary, take it as a constructive critic, im not trying to deny your taste or reasoning here, just that it could be communicated in a better way.
For me, the series is Masha and Yuki, so ill be waiting s2 with them in mind and nothing else, until now the series did little to nothing to make me care for the main couple so untel then, the support cast is what makes the series interesting for me, i hope s2 changes my mind.

To be honest that sounds more like a you thing rather than the story because I think the story does a great job establishing who Kuze and Alya are and why you should appreciate them as main characters. Kuze is just as much a geek as Yuki is and while yes not everyone has elite family issues there are alot of people who can relate to having expectations placed on them that they couldnt deal with. Also my favorite character is Masha and undeniably Yuki is really entertaining but I appreciate what Alya's story is. Unlike the other characters who understand who they are and what their role is, Alya is the definition of an underdog story who is not perfect and is slowly realizing that she has alot to learn from and alot of development to undergo. I think its fine if you watch something and realize this isnt my cup of tea but can still acknowledge that you can understand what they're trying to do or set up but maybe for you its not executed in a way thats impactful for you.

@@Sara-ce5wr it is it is, im not speaking for other people, i dont feel that the series did enough for me, i can see how is doing it for other people but for me is not enough to enjoy Alya and Masachika, i can see the depth in them but they are not enjoyable to watch for me, you can say they lack charm and the depth they have is not enough to compensate what they are missing for me
