    I ordered these before I saw this video so sadly I couldn’t use your link, but I can’t wait to install them in my VW! These with my insane fog lights, gonna be nuts! Oh and one thing I noticed with I had my original HID’s before I changed them to my second set, OEM is like 4300K and after 4 years, the edges of the beam on road signs looked brown. So I replaced them in 2014 with Philips Xenarc 5500K. Then in 2021 I replaced them again. Same 5500K bulbs. The thing I noticed going to my third set was the width. New bulbs you can see wide. Then 2-3 years later the width is gone.

    I don't even need new headlights as I actually ordered some of these for my Civic a few weeks ago (which are fantastic!). But this video kept me intrigued with all the facts/information I did not know about the bulbs. Great product review and overall video!

    Indeed leds are brighter, but i noticed something on my car. On low beam leds are brighter, on high beam xenons focus the light better on center because they have 360° light output and leds just on 2 sides and spread the light .

    • @rosstrittler
      @rosstrittler  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Depends if you have projector or reflector housings. All D1S bulbs should be in projector housings anyway, so it shouldn't make a difference if there are leds on only 2 sides or a xenon with even 360° lighting.

    Mine are literally not turning on at all. 2010 335i E93. I’ve ordered 2 sets, this happened to the first set and I thought it could have been defective so I bought another set and they still don’t work.

    • @rosstrittler
      @rosstrittler  หลายเดือนก่อน

      Do your OEM bulbs still work? It's possible that you accidentally shorted out the headlights. Once one is shorted out, both headlights wont turn on. There isn't a fuse but there is a way to reset it that you might need to research. Otherwise your ballasts may be damaged.

    Thanks for the video, well explained and demonstrated!
    Just one remark:
    In the US automotive lighting equipment is regulated by the DOT Safety Standard (FMVSS) 108, in order to be used legally on public roads. So headlights and headlight bulbs must comply with the requirements of FMVSS108. There is currently no provision within these regulations to legally replace halogen headlamp bulbs with retrofit LED bulb replacements. As a result, retrofit LED bulbs may not be used in headlights on public roads in the United States.
    PS Fog lamps and fog light bulbs are not regulated by federal safety standards and when used in compliance with any applicable state or local laws, LED fog light bulbs are considered street-legal for use in the US.

      Thanks for letting us know, although these bulbs that I installed in the video are D1S style bulbs that are a xenon bulb replacement. They will not work in a factory halogen headlamp. I'm not sure if that makes a difference in terms of the law, but my vehicle follows all other rules and regulations. I still have my catalytic converters and I'm definitely not tuned 🤥

    Thanks for the test Ross! Only concern I have is cabling and BMW OEM ballasts, going from 35W to 120W will create heat in cables and ballasts, or do you use other ballasts and beefier cables?

    • @rosstrittler
      @rosstrittler  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      These bulbs are plug and play for any D1S application. There is no need to upgrade the ballasts or wirings. I've been running them for almost a year with no issues whatsoever.

    Mines are going on stay on for couple minutes, then go on again and then couple minutes after go off then I get the malfunction light for both lights. Idk if if need to code it out or what else could be..

    How have they held up 9 months later and issues?? Would you still recommend or would you go back to HID for reliability?

    • @rosstrittler
      @rosstrittler  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      They have held up perfectly. These lights don't flicker like cheaper LED's, and they are so much brighter than Xenon HID's. I can't recommend these bulbs enough.

    great, but how about power consumption and oem is 35watt, led's have higher watts??

    • @rosstrittler
      @rosstrittler  หลายเดือนก่อน

      They are 120w equivalent. Meaning they produce the same amount of light output as a xenon with 120w. They do not consume 120w, and they actually consume a lot less power than the factory bulbs.
