There's almost nobody talking about this scene. It's powerful, it's badass, it has contrast, the framing is on point, the choreo is insane. It's imo the most powerful scene that I saw in k-pop!

I'm happy to hear that, Chaeryeong is such a gem both as a performer and entertainer. She is extremely talented and naturally funny and has an enjoyable personality, she deserves much more love and credit
There's people actually criticizing the lyrics, those people probably don't know anything about the Mafia game lol. If you know the Mafia game and you read the lyrics, man, it's genius, they interpret the game perfectly
I don't like they lyrics because they weird regarding the English + the random laughing. That what most people who don't like the lyrics are talking about from what I've read. The lyrics can make sense and sound weird.
@@yesno8785 theres like 2 parts that had random laughing, and the english is not that bad???, theres even barely any english except for the chorus which is fine since thats not the WHOLE song?, if you actually would look into the other lyrics, like at the bridge where theres an acrostic poem with MAFIA (which is genius), references with the mafia game (Night time, day time, time to vote, yesterday night) those are mafia game terms, if youre a fan of the mafia game, you would love this song since they reference it a LOT and they even relate it to a love story
@@baxstar1699 Like I said, the lyrics can make sense but still sound funny. I understand the lyrics, but that doesn't really make the song better to me. I like the boy group inspired concept a lot, and that's the one thing I liked about this comeback. They were experimental and the b-sides are nice too. I found the English parts thrown in to just sound awkward + the ring-ding-ding and the laughing at random times doesn't really help the song in my opinion. Plenty of the song has English in it. It's not a rare occurrence. People need to keep in mind that most of International fans of course do not speak Korean, and companies know this when creating song lyrics. Those are going to be the parts that stand out to I-Fans the most. To me and many others, the lyrics are pretty bad in regards to the English. When I first listened to the song, it just didn't sound right. Especially compared with the "talk rapping" which prolonged the amount of time I had to listen to it. I think JYP should have done better with the lyrics and had the song build up to something because the song was flat. They should have had Lia hit a high note at the end instead of Laughing which would have been great! In fact, the pre-chorus was my favorite part because it was a change of pace.
Can't get over how good Lia's vocal tone sounds on this. And the way this choreo spotlights each member is amazing too - the Yeji "yeah yeah!" head shake, the Chaeryoung fire scene, practically every bit of Yuna sass, and then there's the "haha!" from Ryujin on the end of the second verse. Great video, so much personality.
Hey PD! Not sure if you noticed but they have an acrostic poem lyric section on the bridge with Ryujin saying the "Mafia" syllables behind Lia's singing. Ryujin: "Ma" Lia: "machimnae" Ryujin: "Pi" Lia: "pihal su eomneun" Ryujin: "A" Lia: "achimi wa" Edit: I just thought of pointing this out since its a nice little detail
Yuna is such an amazing performer man like most of the itzy fandom is sleeping on her. Yes she's popular, but people don't understand for such a young age, she's literally performing as if she's been a senior in the kpop industry for like 20 years lol. This girl has SO much potential and I cannot wait to see her flourish. I'm so excited for her because she's killing it!
I really love how Ryujin ducks at the end of the first chorus and turns into Chaeryeong. Really plays into the Mafia / Guess Who theme. There's tons more examples of little details like this in the music video that really get me.
Honestly Yuna was the one who caught my attention when I've seen ITZY for the first time in 'ICY'. Then she ended up being my ultimate bias, not just because of her likeable personality, but also because she is my age, and it's kinda surreal and fascinating to see someone so famous who could literally be my classmate.

I am totally Chaeryeong bias and I thought she rocked this concept. The red hair looks awesome, her dancing looks amazing as always, and her facial expressions have gotten better with each comeback. Even on variety shows, she is more confident and less socially awkward (adorably) than before. I also agree with you that this confident and badass concept fits Yuna the best.
I love that this song is a reference to the game Mafia, especially as a tabletop player that has played werewolf, the western equivalent. This inspired Among Us as well. It's a good song but the song theme is so fun.
Mafia in The Morning is definitely becoming my favorite title-track of ITZY! No rookies, no more! Like you mentioned, the kinda old school kpop style (early 2010's) is just so nice to hear for me.
Some fans dug deeply into the concept including the new logo for this comeback; Some of their actions/poses/lyrics resembles a Gumiho (nine-tailed fox myth creature in Korea). Gumiho apparently trick men by appearing as a beautiful woman, and capture their heart (literally) by night time. If you connect this to the lyrics, logo and their choreo it'll make more sense other than the mafia game. I guess that's one of the explanations for the badass concept. ps: their logo looks like a fire from fire hazard signs but if you look at it closely, the logo actually looks like a (?) tail from behind, nine tiles if you count 'em.
This is so different that I get why people are put off by it. But after a few listens...I love it. Really is up there with Wannabe and Not Shy for me. They're growing up and can't do the "teen crush" thing forever. This is a good transition into a more mature sound. If people can't get with it, that's their problem, not Itzy's.

This still isn't my favorite Itzy title track, but PD helped me appreciate it better with this video. Their excitement is infectious, and their explanations of exactly what is awesome helped me appreciate those parts more.
@@Rushlife5 And I saw tons of comments saying the opposite. 😅 At first I was like 'That's a pretty weak title track for ITZY.", but now I really really like it!
In Spain we call the mafia game "Lobo" wich is wolf in spanish, or "Pueblo duerme" wich is something like "town sleeps". Instead of the mafia killing the citizens, the wolf is who escapes at night and kills the citizens in their sleep.
Yeah! I think Yuna has definitely grown so much and has gained so much confidence since their LA tour stop. Yuna seemed more shy at the time and wasn't as confident probably due to the language. This song and it's lyrics also definitely fit Chaeryeong well because of how playful she seemed with her members as well. I had no idea until the tour as well haha. I had a lot of fun watching this review, thanks!
I absolutely *love* this song. It's way different than the other title tracks which is a good thing because the previous ones had similarities. I didn't have a bias in ITZY before this because I didn't really follow them, aside from their title tracks, but now I do. *My bias is Yuna.* She wasn't lying when she said "You are gonna love me"
I love it too. I'm also glad that not shy started this trilogy because after the "IT'Z" trilogy it was weird to have a song with pretty much the same production throughout. But we got a summer song that is easily catchy and gets us used to the new style. Oh and Ryujin stole my heart in DALLA DALLA but I can't quite say that she's my bias because they all keep wrecking me.
I wasn't following before this comeback either... I basically became a MIDZY overnight cause I only new Not Shy from them... but Now I've listened to all their albums and added most of their songs to my playlists, I've learned their faces and names and watched variety shows to know them better-- Ryujin and Yuna are my biases (2Shin/RyuNa biased) Chaeryeong and Yeji being my bias wreckers u.u
The "sumnida" sounds like a creepy child's game actually, lol. Also, spot on with American music and why I'm not drawn to it overall for what seems like a decade now. My hubby and I hate how monotonous it sounds... but this song used just the right amount to get me into it that style when it's not incessant.
Can we talk about Lia's part? because she KILLED it! This songs suits her vocals so well, and I felt she finally shined. Also her dancing looks more confident. Thank you Pd for really understand the whole concept.
THIS COMEBACK IS PERFECT !! ITZY never stop to impress at each comeback. I though no groups could be as fierce as blackpink....but eh I guess Itzy achieved it !
THANK YOU!!!! This is my favorite Itzy comeback. The girls slayed this and I LOVE that they went this route with the song. Its different then everything we are hearing.
i feel like the kind of rapping parts that Yuna and then Yeji in the 2nd verse do are very similar to cardi b bodak yellow. PD mentioned it being western inspired too and the first time i heard the song i literally started humming bodak yellow even tho ive never heard the full song, just that part is so catchy and memorable its kinda impossible not to think of that song when yuna and yeji do their parts
I knew PD wouldn't disappoint with the reaction. While there have been mixed feelings with the song (I personally can't stop listening to it) we should honestly stop and appreciate the fierceness of this comeback not just in the visuals, face expressions, but the vocals and raps. My god! They embodied this concept! And if there are still complaints at least praise them for going all out with it.
ok but what really brings this song to the next level imo is Lia's vocals, her voice is amazing, she used to be my least favourite member (doesn't mean I didn't like her) but it's like she trascended, this song suits her vocals so much
The more I follow Itzy, the more I realize how crazy talented Yuna is. She has insane charisma even though she might not be on the same level as Ryujin or Yeji. I can NOT Imagine Itzy without Yuna. Yuna adds something else to the group that other members cant. Also her facial expressions are INSANELY GOOD.
It’s 100% next level. For me I feel like they’ve finally achieved their full potential. I’ve been waiting for this. Not shy was almost there for me but this is it.
chaeryeong makes this dance look absolutely incredible watching a fancam of her or the weekly idol video of her doing the choreo alone is 100% recommended
Chaeryeong was so amazing in this, and I genuinely hope people start paying more attention to her, I've always loved watching her just do her thing and just absolutely own it. And the fact that I feel like she's an overlooked gem makes her even more badass in my eyes
this made me understand the concept and appreciate the song more lol awesome review as always!! I agree that Yuna stood out the most in this comeback!! the quick face switch suited her so much it's like she's a whole other person this CB. i was surprised you mentioned ONEUS... which means Black Mirror review soon? Love the song.
Man, what an excellent review. I've only recently gotten into K-pop and I've been obsessed with this song, I've come to realize that the badass concept is just my weakness big time, and you hit the nail on the head on so many points about why I love this so much, the music, the video, the dancing, the acting, everything.
I’m a ONCE and this song is making me look into the little sister group now. I’m looking forward to getting to know these talented ladies. An amazing song! I’ve had it on repeat along w Kura Kura!
I can't believe half of yall really don't know the Mafia game, it's literally the best interactive game you could play with your friends. It gives a very good perspective on how people act when they lie and the whole concept of the game is to make everyone transform into their roles. It's great to play it with big group of people because then you can have more roles playing like Maniac, Doctor and etc. I loved the song, the references and the lyrics.
i just love how everytime itzy do title tracks thinking " out of the box" and are so fresh! they always own every concept so well. i really liked this song and i love seeing their evolution/exploration every comeback
I'm glad you liked it PD!! In my opinion i think this is my favorite title track from them. I also agree that Yuna did shine in this comeback, she pulled this concept off. Thank you for reacting!
I'm not a Midzy but Wannabe was the only song I would listen to until this comeback. I didn't expect this powerful and badass concept. If this is ITZY's glow up, I'm very excited to see what they will bring us in future comebacks.
Im so glad u likes this song, i have seen so many say they dont like it, those are the people who listen to half the song and then give up, i wasnt that impressed by the song by first listen but the more i listened the more i loved it, absolutely a 10/10 maybe even more, its very much my taste
Thank you so much for putting this song in the conceptional perspective for me. This is what I love about 3rd, 4th generation artists and reactors...they all go deeper, let us know the meanings, traditional splashes and lyrics, so we can really connect. I love Icy as well...I actually love all of Itzy's title track songs.
i'm so happy chaeryeong (my bias🥺) finally got some more time to shine this comeback, not just with her dancing (which is out of this world), but with her vocals as well ☺️

Her Hips don’t just lie they are SPITTING FACTS IN OUR FACES
This still isn't my favorite Itzy title track, but PD helped me appreciate it better with this video. Their excitement is infectious, and their explanations of exactly what is awesome helped me appreciate those parts more.
There's just something about Yuna's voice that makes it so memorable
Yuna's long black hair adds to the Mafia Vibe
I honestly can't believe people didn't like this comeback its ALL of there era's!! Also please check out Wheein's comeback 'watercolour'
O I heard a lot of people saying this is their favorite era
@@Rushlife5 And I saw tons of comments saying the opposite. 😅 At first I was like 'That's a pretty weak title track for ITZY.", but now I really really like it!
The song is trash so no wonder a lot complained...... the concept & music video are amazing but the song 💀💀💀
The music video was fire though
the song wasnt that amazing but the mv and choreo made it better
In Spain we call the mafia game "Lobo" wich is wolf in spanish, or "Pueblo duerme" wich is something like "town sleeps". Instead of the mafia killing the citizens, the wolf is who escapes at night and kills the citizens in their sleep.
yesss, i love pueblo duerme
Also in Italy! It's 'Lupi e vassalli' like 'wolf and vassals'
in france it's loup-garou
Also in Japan, jinrō gēmu (werewolf game).
in the czech republic, we call it městečko palermo (town of palermo), no idea why.
That Ryujin and Chaeryong part - you all know what I’m talking about
a true 10/10 yes yes and yes, everything connects with each other and flows smoothly, video and editing is on NEXT LEVEL and the choreo is immaculate
I absolutely *love* this song.
It's way different than the other title tracks which is a good thing because the previous ones had similarities.
I didn't have a bias in ITZY before this because I didn't really follow them, aside from their title tracks, but now I do.
*My bias is Yuna.*
She wasn't lying when she said "You are gonna love me"
I love it too.
I basically became a MIDZY overnight cause I only new Not Shy from them... but Now I've listened to all their albums and added most of their songs to my playlists, I've learned their faces and names and watched variety shows to know them better--
Ryujin and Yuna are my biases (2Shin/RyuNa biased)
Chaeryeong and Yeji being my bias wreckers u.u
Im not crazy for this song but the music video, the dancing, the looks and the vibes are on point. The girls killed it
Yes, Yuna's part in the opening is very Cardi B Bodak Yellow
The "sumnida" sounds like a creepy child's game actually, lol. Also, spot on with American music and why I'm not drawn to it overall for what seems like a decade now. My hubby and I hate how monotonous it sounds... but this song used just the right amount to get me into it that style when it's not incessant.
this is probably the most epic thumbnail he has ever done
The director is Bang Jae Yeob. Same with SKZ God’s Menu, Back door. NCT Gimme gimme. That’s why it’s so good and bad ass.
Can we talk about Lia's part? because she KILLED it! This songs suits her vocals so well, and I felt she finally shined. Also her dancing looks more confident. Thank you Pd for really understand the whole concept.
the last chorus dance move with them in front of the fire is so badass like omg
yuna and lia really impress me in this comeback
this background is so pretty PD!
and honestly all I could see in this comeback is Yuna, damn that e-e-e-e part is so good n addicting
You having an eargasmmm... I never heard "WOW"so many times from you.. I think this comeback is Bomb too!
Oh my god thank you, I knew it sounded familiar to me but couldn't remember from where it was
2:37 i dunno why but IM OBSESSED WITH THIS LINE
I feel like the hand work on Yuna for that part hit harder for me. 😂
THIS IS SO LIT OMG WHY ARE PEOPLE NOT APPRECIATING THIS 🤧 im a blink but im starting to look forward with itzy if this keeps up ✨💕
ok but what really brings this song to the next level imo is Lia's vocals, her voice is amazing, she used to be my least favourite member (doesn't mean I didn't like her) but it's like she trascended, this song suits her vocals so much
The more I follow Itzy, the more I realize how crazy talented Yuna is. She has insane charisma even though she might not be on the same level as Ryujin or Yeji. I can NOT Imagine Itzy without Yuna. Yuna adds something else to the group that other members cant. Also her facial expressions are INSANELY GOOD.
I don’t understand how people don’t love this song, it’s been stuck in my head since it’s release!
Great reaction video. I actually can't remember a song that grew on me quicker than this one did from my initial viewing. Another great song for Itzy.
Lia looks stunning i’m in love 😭
Chaeryeong was so amazing in this, and I genuinely hope people start paying more attention to her, I've always loved watching her just do her thing and just absolutely own it. And the fact that I feel like she's an overlooked gem makes her even more badass in my eyes
*i swear PD's thumbnail are GOD TIER and a wallpaper worthy* 😍
yuna killed this and she's my favourite 'im the mafia' line. literally my bias now
this made me understand the concept and appreciate the song more lol awesome review as always!!
Yuna: shushes PD-nim
PD-nim: alright I like it so far
i just love how everytime itzy do title tracks thinking " out of the box" and are so fresh! they always own every concept so well. i really liked this song and i love seeing their evolution/exploration every comeback
yuna was just... ahh. especially her first verse was so good ahhhhhhhhh this song has been stuck in my head. also, this was lia and yuna's era
If this is ITZY's glow up, I'm very excited to see what they will bring us in future comebacks.
whoever directed the mv deserves so many great things. no like for real i’m so in with how it was filmed and edited !!
Yuna ate this comeback and I love your thumbnail😍🖤
Im so glad u likes this song, i have seen so many say they dont like it, those are the people who listen to half the song and then give up, i wasnt that impressed by the song by first listen but the more i listened the more i loved it, absolutely a 10/10 maybe even more, its very much my taste
I wasn't a fan of the song at first but now ... it definitely grew on me alot and i can't stop singing it of how much it stuck to my mind !!
Someone on tiktok said this is Itzy's Signal era and as someone who adores Signal I completely agree ✊🏽
those who didn't like Signal is tasteless..ㅋㅋㅋ
i'm so happy chaeryeong (my bias🥺) finally got some more time to shine this comeback, not just with her dancing (which is out of this world), but with her vocals as well ☺️
I've been waiting whole week for this reaction and it finally come😭 We believe in PD's supremacy✊
When I first saw this mv and noticed the editing, I knew you would like it, especially that Ryujin cut!
Damn bruh the thumbnail 👨🚒🚒🔥
I’m obsessed with the editing/transitions/camera work also love lia in the bridge
Yuna absolutely KILLED this concept but I agree this is totally up Chaeryoung’s alley. She just slayed.
I honestly think Bang Jaeyeob is out there on his way to become the biggest Music Video director, his videos have been just insane so far! (ex: Stray Kids God's Menu, NCT 127 Gimme Gimme, etc.)
!!!!!
Chaeryeong has a distinct "catsy trait" in her
jyp is really getting good with the transitions; first god's menu, then back door, now this. top-tier mv's.
I loved the comeback so much! Itzy keeps getting better and better. I can’t believer some kpop fans found the concept problematic because they say “Mafia”. Honestly, kpop fans can’t seem to enjoy anything anymore. You gotta tip toe around people at this point. Itzy did amazing!
They just can't process the fact that how can a newer girl group have the better song and MV than their favs 😂 even if it's written by jyp, they think he's trash but they forget that he's legendary producer
can someone talk about how literally fire his thumbnail is!!! this thumbnail is so so good, eye-catching to the viewers.
I’m not sure if I’m a fan of the song. I love their previous titles, but their stage presence and dancing is next level in this. I can’t stop watching the mv
I REALLY LOVE IT IT HOLY- for me this song WILL absolutely will get better over time, i can see myself liking it even moreeeeeeee omg, and yeah this has to be the best song for me, its COMPLETELY different
WHY DO I ALWAYS SHARE OPINIONS WITH THIS GUY
I LOVE ICY TOO PERIODT
YOUR REACT & REVIEW ALWAYS SAY THE TRUTH . ITZY SLAY MAFIA CONCEPT ❤️❤️❤️
