When I turned the radio on in the bathroom I was expecting something fucked up to happen, but then this played and I was thrown to Silent Hill... I'm not gonna lie, I shed some tears just walking around the bunker while the song played

Ahh I had a feeling the names looked, and sounded familiar. Damn its been so long since I played those games.
Akira Yamaoka worked on the SH music, too. The entire game seemed like a loving nod to them.

Silent Hill vibes all over it!! I loved this part of the game
What was amazing about this moment for me was I turned on the radio and started listening then I went to explore the rest of the bunker and realized: "Oh wow this is like full on background music, now" no matter where you go it plays in the background until the end. loved it. Fantastic game.
I definitely just stood there in the bathroom and listened to this song all the way through. It's creepy and beautiful since Troy is the voice of the Maw and hearing Mary reminded me of Lillianne. I don't understand the hate for this game, it was great.
If you walk around in the rooms rhe music sounds too, with better acoustic.

I wish I was stuck at Nina Resort with Lilianne to help take some of the pain from her. She is the love of my life. She is who I’ve been searching for my whole life. I’m a medium too and together, we’ll rid the Maw and rebuild the Nina Resort and have medium babies more powerful than the world has ever seen.

Honestly, amidst all the overwhelming positive reviews of this game and its soundtrack in these comments, I would personally completely disagree. The vocal tracks of this game are severely lacking in substance that comes abundantly in vocal soundtracks throughout all of the Silent Hill games. Akira Yamaoka's influence is clear in these tracks, but it feels....uninspired? It feels like it lacks the passion that Yamaoka seemed to pour into his work on silent hill. Voices is boring and has no flavor. It lacks in any sort of hook to it. Even slow songs like Room of Angel from SH4 or Acceptance from Shattered Memories (both very slow, low energy songs) have these moments of emotional swelling and release that keeps the listener engaged. Voices, Fade, and Across the Shore all lack any sort of variety that keeps them from becoming boring and repetitive. Even the pickup in Voices sounds generic, and Troy Baker's voice was really meant more for acting than singing, in my opinion. Overall, it feels less as though these songs are a love letter to Silent Hill, and feels more like they're making a poor attempt to cut off and wear Silent Hill's skin for their own....and failing at it...
I personally like the songs even if I am not a fan of the game, though I do agree to a degree.
@@peppermillers8361 that's totally fair. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion and no opinion is wrong when it comes to something as subjective as music. I do think that, had I heard these songs without even hearing any of Mary Elizabeth's Silent Hill work, I would actually have a much softer opinion. But unfortunately, I simply think that when compared to the source content The Medium obviously took so much inspiration from, they simply fall short for me. But I'm glad you enjoy them!

This song would work even better if they dropped Troy Baker. The dude can't sing, it's almost like nails on a chalkboard. I know a lot of you won't agree. But past that an absolute classic. They need to work on a Silent Hill and if this game proved anything, they are worthy successors to the rights of the series. But a sequel to The Medium is totally needed. Such an amazing game... Love Marianne. Really. Hope to see her return
