Right? I mean, that berry. Wow. Wouldn't you give your life defending someone for a saliva-soaked, partially broken down berry? Infused with a healthy portion of pouch bacteria? Excellent source of probiotics. Little known fact. Oh, and can't forget the other occasional bits and crumbs of old bread/seeds/road grime that Teeny scours the ground for. But that berry is the real creme de la creme.
Aside from Tina despicable habits and a coward to get food in order to produce milk , so any suckling is pacify teeny, we’ll never understand the relentless desperation of low class monkeys struggling but Tina don’t even try like other moms . But she was better than gypsy intentionally cruel neglectful to love starved kailey which I blamed gypsy for her baby’s disappearance. Many babies died similar ways.
I don't agree. Tina is very timid and very submissive. I don't agree with her cleaning out her offspring pouches but she is doing the best she can. You can tell she loves her little ones.

It thought it was a sweet potato and notice it was not. Only a Barry from the trees and quickly stopped. Cuz at 8:24 it thought that the vo gave something good to Teeny.
Also at 10:31 it wasn't worry about Teeny safety at all it just only thought the the vo gave something good to Teeny again but instead of checking it just stood close to Teeny just in case if Teeny stars to chew and swallow cuz that will till that it was right from the beginning. Tina didn't drink her milk! She did what most rhesus macaque mum do. They suck the nipples to see if there's milk or to suck away potential stops. They probably taste the milk to see if the milk is ok. Tina didn't sat and drank her own milk! 🤓🏴☠️🇸🇪
Tina brings tears to my eyes. I do not believe she is intentionally a poor mother. This is a result of her low ranking. Her own mother probably treated her the same way. We have even seen babysitters remove food from Tiny's pouches when he was small. I hope Teeny survives and thrives as Tiny eventually did. But watching her plight tears at my heart and sensibilities. Please, do not abandon them.
In her eyes for a moment when Teeny looked at you it was almost like she was begging you to save her. Tina doesn't let her out of sight and as soon as Teeny gets any food Tina snatches her up and raids her knowing that her daughter is starving to death. She even hides raiding her pouches knowing its wrong! So she knows better that's the sick part!
Teeny looks tired and sad, poor thing. She's such a good little baby. She's a sweet and beautiful. She's a special little one, she's going to make it. Thank you Arroz for all the stories. Beautiful music ♥️
I'm sad Kailey didn't make it though... she had such a great turn around story, from being abused and negelcted by her lowest ranking of moms, Gypsy, rejected cruely with bites and ran away from when just looking for the most basic comfort from mum starting even before 3 months old if I remember correctly (she'd still get occasional feedings, but increasingly haphazard and half hearted)...so being forced out amongst the troop looking for crumbs to drop at the feet of others while they fed (which Macaque mums are so protective with their young ones that being allowed to roam freely would not happen with frequency and the infants would not be comfortable doing so in general)... this got Kailey noticed first by some of the sterile somewhat higher ranking females like Aunty and Ruby (was Ruby her name?) who bonded with her and provided comfort even if they had no milk (and it's so rare that even Macaque moms will intentionally give food to their infants even), all the way to getting in and amongst Grandee's gang of 1-year old high ranking girl admirers, catching whatever crumbs fall from the Alpha's mouth... at first being bullied by the other yearlings, chased-off, monkey-slapped, to before long getting recognition and protection from Grandee himself. She was eventually fully accepted, and not at Fify's level, but not the lowest of big G's followers. If she survived, she would maybe have been considered a high ranking monkey despite her lowly origins, and that never could have happened if she had a regular caring and protective mother who would not let her young daughter spend so much unsupervised time amongst the troop. Because she was forced out amongst them, Kailey had that baby appeal that adults cherish without too much concern about rank, and with that access, they came to love Kailey and accept her.
I sure hope Teeny survives in spite of her mother.. =/ It's infuriating to watch but there's nothing we can really do. It's the Animal Kingdom after all!
I so hope Teeny can make it through to spring so she can gorge on camphor berries and nectar and then be strong enough to run from Tina to eat her food rather than her own mother steal all her hard found food out of her mouth. @Em yes, people tend to judge them by human standards of mothering and morals. If you do that you're just going to end up upset all the time. This isn't the first monkey I've seen do this in videos to their offspring. However not to this extent but still. People need to remember they're wild animals not Disney movie characters

@Em What people need to realize is Tina doesnt likely know that Teeny isn't getting milk, so its more important for her to get the food so Teeny can have milk, for all we know she is correct
She won’t though, because angering her Mother takes away the only comfort that she has. Her Mom is still willing to cuddle her and allows her to nurse and receive what meager calories that are available. At 8 months, most of her contemporaries are almost finished with the weaning process. For them, they would much rather still have a welcome seat at the milk bar. Tina is likely to allow Teeny to nurse until she has a new infant in her arms. If no infant appears this birthing season, then Teeny will have the good fortune of weaning while the forage prospects will be at their height.
The others wouldn't care. Other mother's do it too. Just not to that extent. Also these are wild animals. Not humans. Placing human morals and judging them by how human human mothering. They're facinating to watch but remember they die all the time. Nature is cruel and always has been

If what you say is true about monkeys not caring she would do it out right in the open, right? So shes hiding from something either shame or ridicule from somewhere. Also ive seen other vids with elders doing this to babies, this is something different though her mom lets her take time to collect for a long time then methodically pulls her away once her pouches are full.
Tina is so protective of Teeny because she sees her as an asset. A secondary source of food. Her own personal scavenging machine that she can plunder at will.
I know you have a big heart but I think you should really stop giving tina and Teeny food. Nature needs to run its course. Teeny needs to learn how to get tf away from tina when she has food. Smh
You're talking about a tiny little micro monkey who relies on her mother for security and comfort. Being that smell she may not survive without her mother nor would her mother just let her get tf away. And as far as him giving them food. He is not the only person who gives food to the monkeys, people would do it even if he didn't. But he does it so it can help Teeny grow so that one day she can get tf away. No harm in that.

Yes, if she can't survive without human intervention then she shouldn't survive. If she is too small or sickly then it is best if she doesn't grow up to have babies who might carry on her genes that might be sickly in turn. Survival of the fittest is the only way the troupe and the species stays healthy

I just noticed-Tina doesn’t forage! She must’ve been conditioned by bullying from higher ranking monkeys to not do so, just as she conditioned Teeny early on that she couldn’t nurse or the breat would be pulled away, so she learned to only hold it in her mouth without suckling. So Tina won’t forage herself, but there’s no reprimand for stealing from her own baby. Of course Arroz you know whether or not Teeny survives from the time of this video into the next month or two-but unless the visitors to monkey hill produce an incredible bonanza and sustain it for 2-4 months, I just don’t see teeny surviving.
Tina is weaning Teeny, too. So, little Teeny is not even getting that....SO SAD!! I wish you could squirt Tina with a spray bottle whenever you see her digging in Teeny's pouches.
I think the only reason she protects Teeny like she does is because Teeny is a source of food for Tina, Tina watches Teeny and whenever Teeny finds food Tina snatches Teeny up and raids Teeny's pouches .
Tina doesn’t strike me as the smartest of the monkeys. She has taken so much better care of Teeny than she did Tiny, probably because she is a girl. Can’t say I saw Tina keeping such a close eye on Tiny, nor warming him, or even allowing him the comfort of a suckle (dummy). She’s a product of her genes (spending more energy on females than males) and her own up-bringing- she can only react to situations (not that monkeys “plan” much). I’m sure that monkeys at the bottom of the troop hierarchy have a lot of stress.
As much as I have studied and watched these animals, it never ceases to amaze me how much they are like people. Watching the little one dancing around and throwing a titty tantrum, while Teeny barely clings to life with what little she has, I can't help but compare them to some spoiled children who have it all, yet still whine for more, while others don't know when their next meal may be, but would share their last morsel.
Arroz, you're right about this "pseudo-grooming". It is also a very aggressive, almost brutal grooming, it probably hurts Teeny having her hair and skin torn that way.

Your crusade to give Tina 1 or 2 potatoes is gonna get her and Teeny hurt. Why not follow feeders around and try to educate them who really needs help getting fed. Maybe they will try to spread out food in a way the lower ones can eat and troops aren’t brought together.
S R Lower ranked monkeys will always eat last. That is their way. And they know if they try to eat before higher ranked monkeys, they will pay for it. The feeders know how to feed the Troops. It’s usually visitors that cause the trouble.

Teeny is going to live , I think she will always be small but she will make it , and I wish everyone would stop picking on Tina, no it's not nice but it's probably learned behaviour and she does love teeny she's her baby xx

Please don't feed Tina any more. I really don't think it helps Teeny at all as I really doubt Tina is able to produce any milk. Tina is so very rough with Teeny. Her grooming borders on abuse. I bet Teeny has bruises under that fur. It also looks like there is something wrong with Teeny's hips or leg.
If you look at her fingers and toes they're permanently bent so is her tail and to a certain extent i think her spine also.. my thinking is rickets from lack of calcium which explains why Teeny is not growing. There is no milk... i doubt very much that there has been milk available for a good few months otherwise Teeny would have put on some weight.. i know she suckles but i think it is more for a type of comfort rather than nourishment. . It will break my heart if Teeny doesn't make it as she has fought so hard to live..this 8 month old doesn't know what playing is because whenever she is free of her mothers clutches she scavenges for tiny crumbs of food she can find to try and survive only for Tina to steal it from her pouches.. i just hope she can make it to spring when she can feed on the camphor berries and nectar and become strong enough to run from Tina to eat her food.. 👍🙏🇬🇧🙊🙈🙉🐒🐵💞💔

I have come to wonder if possibly Teeny doesn't complain not only because of her incredibly sweet nature, but also because she knows not to use her sparse supply of energy in such a frivolous way.
If she had proper food without her crazy mom digging it out of her pouch. She is severely malnourished. Sad.😒🤕🤔 what milk she gets from breast milk keeps her alive.
I don’t understand : why is Tina not up in the branches feeding herself and her baby of those wild berries? I hate how they all got used to waiting for the “ easy food “ delivered by humans. Secondly, it seems like Tina is still breastfeeding Tiny ( by the look of the nipples and by what I’ve noticed in this video) . Why then is Tiny so little? I come to the conclusion that some those monkeys keep their kid by they side only to get sympathy from humans and therefore more food. I think Tina may be one of those. And I feel sorry for her too, cause she must be almost always hungry herself, being at the bottom of her troop. But I don’t think she is mature enough, consistent enough and carrying enough to bring up a child. Tiny is just very resilient. But it hurts me seeing how her mother treats her at times.

I have heard that a diet high in lead helps alleviate obsessive compulsive disorder. And if my notes are correct...it seems to have a 100% success rate! As long as the dietary supplement is administered correctly.
No doubt had the feeders not banded together to feed her she would be dead like Tibbin. Tina was not allowing her the nipple at all, I'm sure the milk was gone at this point. She can't have anything she finds. There was no way out for her and her condition here is simply skin and bones and determination. ♡

May be it's a learned behavior. Teeny is cute and would atract more food giving to her, that made Tina consciously or subconsciously use Teeny as a tool to get food.
Teeny will be a forever baby? Tina's weaning is taking food out of Teeny's mouth. I did see Tina yanked herself up from Teeny when she tried to milk her.

I remember "Tiny" in which he was successful in getting food but immediately would Tina take it out of Tiny's mouth. It use to frustrate me to no end because I liked Tiny very much and he finally left to find more food for himself and that is what Teeny needs to do. What I don't see is Tina trying to forage for food much but expect Teeny to get food so she can sit on her laurels and not do anything about having to get any for herself but to steal from her baby Teeny.
It is upsetting to see Tina grooming Teeny when even the bugs on her small coat is food to Tina and it makes me mad. I wish Teeny would be able to eat all the food but hide from her mother Tina so she can't take it away.
I'm scared Teeny won't make it but I hope that she'll wisen up and learn to eat anything she finds right away instead of trying to pouch them. Even a single berry could be crucial to her survival now :(
How come Tina was not like that with "Tiny?" He was small but she left him along as he got older. This time Tina still hold fast to Teeny. One thing I never see Tina foraging as much as Teeny.

Yeah I just will never understand why Tina wont let that more baby eat what she works so hard to find . She must realize Teeny isnt normal and shes so skinny too. Alot of young babies that are small still have that round belly and thicker legs but not this little girl. I wondered if maybe she is like a dwarf monkey or something like that. Idk I've never seen a case like this. I do wish Tina would stop raiding her babies pouches or Teeny would stop stuff them and just eat what she finds as soon as she finds it instead of putting it in her pouches. I was recommended this video, one which I’ve already seen. I love all of AMs videos but the ones where Teeny is being taken advantage of are very hard to watch. I did notice that when Tina holds Teeny, she often brings her head down to Teenys head, almost like she’s kissing Teeny. But this is not the case (imo) she is checking for chewing from Teeny. I noticed she kept doing this when Teeny was moving her mouth as if she was chewing but she hadn’t been off of Tina yet to forage, Tina noticed and then started “grooming” Teeny on her pouch and even slapped her before hand. Knowing how Teeny is doing nowadays makes it a little easier to watch. Has Tina had anymore babies since Teeny? Did they catch her?
So since she's so small we have to assume its do to her not eating. Malnutrition thanks to mom. I mean mom won't let Teeny even keep any bits of food she does find much less let her nurse. When winter does come Teeny probably won't survive will she Arroz??? That's so sad. wow geez. anyone who knows anything about primates can see there isn't enough food for them. Teeny wouldn't be keeping the food in her pouches if it was plentiful. That zoo needs to be closed down and charged criminally. they make money from admissions. They need to spend it on food.
Teeny, doesn't get very much nourishment, mom doesn't have much milk, takes her food out of pouch. This is a case that baby would do so much better eaither another female or a human to raise her. But this will not happen. If she would swallow the food but instinct it goes in pouch.
If Tina was human I'd have her arrested for child abuse. Her child is living on 100 calories a day. Poor baby I so want to take her to home and feed her.

I can understand how you can feel bad and not want to watch stop like teenies mother taking food out of her mouth. But if you can handle it don't film it because it's interesting to me to see how much a daughter son or family member will take from a family member versus Outsiders that are not answer uncles or vice versa. If you're studying them then study all of it and don't shut the camera off when something gets gut-wrenching thank you I enjoy your videos I watch them all the time but I can't stand it when you sent a video off because something you just don't like to see

Tina didn't drink her milk! She did what most rhesus macaque mum do. They suck the nipples to see if there's milk or to suck away potential stops. They probably taste the milk to see if the milk is ok. Tina didn't sat and drank her own milk!

Tina brings tears to my eyes. I do not believe she is intentionally a poor mother. This is a result of her low ranking. Her own mother probably treated her the same way. We have even seen babysitters remove food from Tiny's pouches when he was small. I hope Teeny survives and thrives as Tiny eventually did. But watching her plight tears at my heart and sensibilities. Please, do not abandon them.

In her eyes for a moment when Teeny looked at you it was almost like she was begging you to save her. Tina doesn't let her out of sight and as soon as Teeny gets any food Tina snatches her up and raids her knowing that her daughter is starving to death.
She even hides raiding her pouches knowing its wrong! So she knows better that's the sick part!

I'm sad Kailey didn't make it though... she had such a great turn around story, from being abused and negelcted by her lowest ranking of moms, Gypsy, rejected cruely with bites and ran away from when just looking for the most basic comfort from mum starting even before 3 months old if I remember correctly (she'd still get occasional feedings, but increasingly haphazard and half hearted)...so being forced out amongst the troop looking for crumbs to drop at the feet of others while they fed (which Macaque mums are so protective with their young ones that being allowed to roam freely would not happen with frequency and the infants would not be comfortable doing so in general)... this got Kailey noticed first by some of the sterile somewhat higher ranking females like Aunty and Ruby (was Ruby her name?) who bonded with her and provided comfort even if they had no milk (and it's so rare that even Macaque moms will intentionally give food to their infants even), all the way to getting in and amongst Grandee's gang of 1-year old high ranking girl admirers, catching whatever crumbs fall from the Alpha's mouth... at first being bullied by the other yearlings, chased-off, monkey-slapped, to before long getting recognition and protection from Grandee himself. She was eventually fully accepted, and not at Fify's level, but not the lowest of big G's followers. If she survived, she would maybe have been considered a high ranking monkey despite her lowly origins, and that never could have happened if she had a regular caring and protective mother who would not let her young daughter spend so much unsupervised time amongst the troop. Because she was forced out amongst them, Kailey had that baby appeal that adults cherish without too much concern about rank, and with that access, they came to love Kailey and accept her.
I sure hope Teeny survives in spite of her mother..

She won’t though, because angering her Mother takes away the only comfort that she has. Her Mom is still willing to cuddle her and allows her to nurse and receive what meager calories that are available. At 8 months, most of her contemporaries are almost finished with the weaning process. For them, they would much rather still have a welcome seat at the milk bar. Tina is likely to allow Teeny to nurse until she has a new infant in her arms. If no infant appears this birthing season, then Teeny will have the good fortune of weaning while the forage prospects will be at their height.

If what you say is true about monkeys not caring she would do it out right in the open, right? So shes hiding from something either shame or ridicule from somewhere. Also ive seen other vids with elders doing this to babies, this is something different though her mom lets her take time to collect for a long time then methodically pulls her away once her pouches are full.

Being that smell she may not survive without her mother nor would her mother just let her get tf away. And as far as him giving them food. He is not the only person who gives food to the monkeys, people would do it even if he didn't. But he does it so it can help Teeny grow so that one day she can get tf away. No harm in that.

Yes, if she can't survive without human intervention then she shouldn't survive. If she is too small or sickly then it is best if she doesn't grow up to have babies who might carry on her genes that might be sickly in turn. Survival of the fittest is the only way the troupe and the species stays healthy

I just noticed-Tina doesn’t forage! She must’ve been conditioned by bullying from higher ranking monkeys to not do so, just as she conditioned Teeny early on that she couldn’t nurse or the breat would be pulled away, so she learned to only hold it in her mouth without suckling. So Tina won’t forage herself, but there’s no reprimand for stealing from her own baby. Of course Arroz you know whether or not Teeny survives from the time of this video into the next month or two-but unless the visitors to monkey hill produce an incredible bonanza and sustain it for 2-4 months, I just don’t see teeny surviving.

Tina doesn’t strike me as the smartest of the monkeys. She has taken so much better care of Teeny than she did Tiny, probably because she is a girl. Can’t say I saw Tina keeping such a close eye on Tiny, nor warming him, or even allowing him the comfort of a suckle (dummy). She’s a product of her genes (spending more energy on females than males) and her own up-bringing- she can only react to situations (not that monkeys “plan” much). I’m sure that monkeys at the bottom of the troop hierarchy have a lot of stress.
I wish Tina didn't have that very nasty habit of stealing her babies food. If not for that she would be a great mom.

As much as I have studied and watched these animals, it never ceases to amaze me how much they are like people. Watching the little one dancing around and throwing a titty tantrum, while Teeny barely clings to life with what little she has, I can't help but compare them to some spoiled children who have it all, yet still whine for more, while others don't know when their next meal may be, but would share their last morsel.
Arroz, you're right about this "pseudo-grooming". It is also a very aggressive, almost brutal grooming, it probably hurts Teeny having her hair and skin torn that way.

S R Lower ranked monkeys will always eat last. That is their way. And they know if they try to eat before higher ranked monkeys, they will pay for it. The feeders know how to feed the Troops. It’s usually visitors that cause the trouble.

If you look at her fingers and toes they're permanently bent so is her tail and to a certain extent i think her spine also.. my thinking is rickets from lack of calcium which explains why Teeny is not growing. There is no milk... i doubt very much that there has been milk available for a good few months otherwise Teeny would have put on some weight.. i know she suckles but i think it is more for a type of comfort rather than nourishment. . I don’t understand : why is Tina not up in the branches feeding herself and her baby of those wild berries? I hate how they all got used to waiting for the “ easy food “ delivered by humans. Secondly, it seems like Tina is still breastfeeding Tiny ( by the look of the nipples and by what I’ve noticed in this video) . Why then is Tiny so little?
I come to the conclusion that some those monkeys keep their kid by they side only to get sympathy from humans and therefore more food. I think Tina may be one of those. And I feel sorry for her too, cause she must be almost always hungry herself, being at the bottom of her troop. But I don’t think she is mature enough, consistent enough and carrying enough to bring up a child. Tiny is just very resilient. But it hurts me seeing how her mother treats her at times.

May be it's a learned behavior. Teeny is cute and would atract more food giving to her, that made Tina consciously or subconsciously use Teeny as a tool to get food.

Indeed. She was recently diagnosed with Schimke Immuno-Osseous Dysplasia. Rather common in primates.

I remember "Tiny" in which he was successful in getting food but immediately would Tina take it out of Tiny's mouth. It use to frustrate me to no end because I liked Tiny very much and he finally left to find more food for himself and that is what Teeny needs to do. What I don't see is Tina trying to forage for food much but expect Teeny to get food so she can sit on her laurels and not do anything about having to get any for herself but to steal from her baby Teeny.
It is upsetting to see Tina grooming Teeny when even the bugs on her small coat is food to Tina and it makes me mad. I wish Teeny would be able to eat all the food but hide from her mother Tina so she can't take it away.

Yeah I just will never understand why Tina wont let that more baby eat what she works so hard to find . She must realize Teeny isnt normal and shes so skinny too. Alot of young babies that are small still have that round belly and thicker legs but not this little girl. I wondered if maybe she is like a dwarf monkey or something like that. I was recommended this video, one which I’ve already seen. I love all of AMs videos but the ones where Teeny is being taken advantage of are very hard to watch. I did notice that when Tina holds Teeny, she often brings her head down to Teenys head, almost like she’s kissing Teeny. But this is not the case (imo) she is checking for chewing from Teeny. I noticed she kept doing this when Teeny was moving her mouth as if she was chewing but she hadn’t been off of Tina yet to forage, Tina noticed and then started “grooming” Teeny on her pouch and even slapped her before hand.
Knowing how Teeny is doing nowadays makes it a little easier to watch.

So since she's so small we have to assume its do to her not eating. Malnutrition thanks to mom. I mean mom won't let Teeny even keep any bits of food she does find much less let her nurse. Teeny, doesn't get very much nourishment, mom doesn't have much milk, takes her food out of pouch. This is a case that baby would do so much better eaither another female or a human to raise her. But this will not happen. If she would swallow the food but instinct it goes in pouch.

I can understand how you can feel bad and not want to watch stop like teenies mother taking food out of her mouth. But if you can handle it don't film it because it's interesting to me to see how much a daughter son or family member will take from a family member versus Outsiders that are not answer uncles or vice versa.
