In the original campaign Raishan didn't even complete the ritual, because Keyleth succeded at a spell (feeblemind) that basically made Raishan stupid and thus unable to cast magic (or even speak etc.). Also Percy wasn't dead as long and they coudln't kill him for good in the animated show because he did live in the Campaign and continues to play a role in the world. Permanent deaths are rare in DnD because there are many ways to revive/ressurect characters, but they do exist. In a different video you mentioned being open to seeing different characters in the same world an you can, a fist season for the Mighty Nein has been announced (same players, same world, different characters and about 30 years after the Briarwoods, the Chroma Conlave and what happens next). And you caught that Zerxus mentioned "We are his blood", but the spinning orb was seen already in season one. I am not sure if you know this, because you don't seem to from your reactions: DnD is a game system and there are official campaigns/adventures in an official world, so official DnD lore does exist. This however plays in Exandria, a world created by Matthew Mercer (and the rest of the cast of Critical Role). They did use Pathfinder (another game system) originally and then switched to DnD 5e, so the world is influenced by both systems but built by Matt, not following the official lore for either system for the most part, featuring their original worldbuilding, characters and lore instead.
