Owned both and can proudly say I won't ever have another boot besides the tech 10. Known people breaking toes and ankles in the instincts no thank you!!
I’m just glad to see a Mx video that isn’t shot at glen helen. Jesus, let’s get away from Cali tracks. I realize this is rmmc and not the A typical Mx media video.
I have both in size 9 and prefer the tech 10’s because they fit my foot snugger. The new 2.0’s in a size 9 feel big and i had no issues with the older instincts in a size 9
The new Fox boot is definitely roomier than the previous Instinct. I also didn't have any issues with the old model in the same size, but I can see why some people thought they were too narrow. Both are really good boots! - Chase
Never tried fox instinct, but I have 3rd degree flat feet, so I need the rigidity of tech 10 because otherwise, when I roll on tiptoes the side of the boot could block me against the frame
@@rmatvmc Thank you for your answer but it's not just a question of the sole, if the ribs are more fragile my foot is so twisted that the side of the boot can bend. But i Never tried the fox so ...
How drastic is the difference between the instinct 2.0 and motion as far as security/stiffness? Seen in your motion x video both feel stiffer than the old instinct so juat wonder how far apart the two are.
The stiffness between the two is noticeable, but quite as much as I was expecting. But that is when the two are brand new. The thing you have to remember is that the Instinct is going to keep it's stiffness and support much longer than the Motion will due to the insert in the tongue. The Instinct, I think, is a good blend of support and flex. It's my favorite boot right now. - Chase
Is there a update on the instinct 2.0's? Also is there any time you personally rather have the stiffer tech 10 over the more comfortable instinct 2.0? Since you brought it up in passing, Is the sg22 worth the extra premium?
The new Instinct 2.0 has a stiffer sole and an insert in the shin to make the boot stiffer. It's still no Tech 10, but I love the blend of support and flex. I mean, I love the stiffness of the Tech 10 if I'm going to over or under jump something, but the new Instinct is much better than the previous version. The SG22 is a really good boot. The more I ride in it, the more I like it. The SG22 is easily one of my top 3 favorite boots. - Chase
I was actually just with Riley a couple weeks ago and had a look at the boots. From what I could see, everything was holding up great. Riley said he'd guess he has about 15-20 hours on them since that video was filmed. He's ridden more than that, but he rotates his boots. But overall, they are holding up great with no issues that he's seen. - Chase
I just talked to Riley the other day and his Instincts are holding up just fine. He does rotate through boots though so hard to say exactly how much time he has in them. - Chase
Between these two, I would say the Tech 10 may have a slightly larger calf opening than the Instinct. If you want the largest calf opening, the Gaerne SG12 or SG22 is the best option. - Chase
... I take it you've never seen Jason Anderson's foot injury in tech 10's? Almost had it ripped in half. No boot will completely protect your ankle or foot. It's the most complex body part.

The sole of the new Instinct is as rigid, if not more, than they Tech 10 - Chase

Hi guys.
For ADV riding Leatt 4.5 or Gaerne GX1 boots?
Greetins from Brazil.
Personally, I would choose the Leatt 4.5. I think that boot is very comfortable and great mobility right out of the box - Chase

How are they holding up now that it’s been several months

What about guys with chunky calf’s

Thanks man!!!
Seeing Roczens foot after his crash in Abu Dhabi, I’d never turn to the dark side (fox)

I will take Fox Instinct 2.0's over Alpinestars Tech 10's everyday.
Fox boots are for like narrow kids feet fit way to tight for wide foot
Have you tried the new Instinct? These are now one of the more generous boots for width. - Chase
@@rmatvmc oh ok that’s awesome then I’ll have to try them out at a store thanks
You bet. Definitely worth trying them on! The more I ride in them, the more I like them! - Chase
