Deliberate mistake omitting Dupont AND Mauvaka from the Northern Hemisphere XV - oops. Should've been 6 Frenchman in the NH team....but you get the idea 🙈 Thanks for watching, and accepting the odd dropped ball 😉
@Tim I was wondering where Mark Tele'a ranked at that tackle evasion stat, as a Saffa I have very rarely seen him get tackled on first contact ever. I would have expected him on top of the list.
Hearing the little crack in your voice describing Pieter Steph’s World Final efforts was quite something. Like everyone else watching, I bloody love your passion for our sport.

Always strange that Brian Habana is not mentioned in the goat debate. Scored the most tries ever for a tier 1 nation player, won a world cup and three Super Rugby titles. The guy was magic. Anyhow, just though he deserved a mention.
Great video and stats! Love the graphics at the start, really interesting seeing your power rankings matching up with the world rankings. Thanks for the content during this rugby limbo.
Well done Tim, a lot of hard work your putting in on these videos. Very fair with your comments and it's clear that you love the game. I think the Aussies will be one to watch, now that Joe is in charge.
Great list, only one AB on the list shows what a unique time we r in as rugby fans...im not Irish, but i love the fact they r well & truely a consistent rugby powerhouse these days :)
Cant argue with your no.1 spot. Without him france is not the same team. Seen him do incredible things with pinpoint accuracy under huge pressure time and time again.
I honestly believe the more money these great warriors that play international rugby can make - the better. If that’s where the money is then let them at it.
I think Andtew Porter is the best Loosehead in the world. Put him in any team, and he'd slot in. Ox is the better scrumager, but not by a big amount. Porters all-around game is better. More NZ & Frenchies could be in there too. Top notch 👌
As a Frenchman Penaud is one of my favourite players, but I would reverse his position with Kolbe in the rankings because Kolbe is more versatile. The number of defenders beaten by Penaud is incredible, but these figures need to be put into context. Penaud is used to crossing the pitch wide to create space, and that's where he beats defenders. He gains less ground than the figures suggest.
He's had some shockers since the world cup if you're not just looking at attacking stats. Some atrocious defense and extremely poor ball control.(and I'm a big fan as well)
He also creates a tons of line breaks, not just sideways defenders beaten. but can make silly mistakes too. Kolbe is more secure for sure and in the big games, it can make the difference
Another great stat about Dupont, regarding his last Champions Cup campaign : after Toulouse had won, EPCR had put various stats online, at some point there were 13 categories ( right now I can only see 9 ). Out of these 13 categories, Dupont was in the top 5 players in 9, he was number one in 4. Out of the current 9 categories still online on their website, he's featured in 5, and is number 1 in one category. That's how complete of a player he is.
I feel Beirne should have been higher ngl. His form has been impeccable and is arguably the best forward ireland have and one of, if not the best lock in the world right now
Sideways, backwards, sideways, forwards, sideways... oh look, he's lost the ball yet again. Rinse repeat, oh look, he's penalized for not releasing the ball after isolating himself again...
Agree on how Dupont is tracking. Is definitely the current best going around, even ahead of psdt. Just on Dupont goat comparison, by the time mccaw and dc were 27, they'd won grand slams in end of year tours, lions tour, multiple tri nations at a time the tri nations was the pinnacle of the sport. Dupont is yet to tour the SH. That's a glaring chasm in his CV. It's a pity because fans here are missing out on seeing a generational talent play live. Imagine if DC didn't play in the Europe at all until 2010. Would int'l opinion of him be a little lower?
Didn't you have Meauvaka as the number 1 Hooker ? In your NH team you had Sheehan. To me the top 3 players are PSDT, Ardie Savea and Antoine Dupont (in reverse order). They're the three I believe are in a tier of their own, I wouldn't know how to rank the rest of the top ten.

Eventually the ref gave a penalty against his team and chewed Domkrag out for about five minutes straight. Afterwards he walked back and stood behind the goal line, waiting for the kick at posts. One of his team-mates asked "Hey, what did the ref say?", to which he replied: "He said Kentucky has a special on wings."
In NZ north vs south(2 islands) used to be a big part of rugby all black selection before there was super rugby, it was usually the week before squad naming.
I love Eben Etzebeth but would put Pieter Steph Du Toit ahead of him. As great as DuPont is, I would put Pieter Steph DuToit ahead of him simply on the basis of his performances on the biggest stages against the best teams.
