I've come to realize that a lot of people who complain that a cologne scent doesn't last long are saying that because they no longer smell it much on themself. But I've come to realize you might not smell it much anymore but others around you smell it. The CDN Intense Man when I wear it I don't smell it but even 10+ hours later people are complimenting me.
I had the same thing happen to me last week. I sprayed CDNI at around 5:45am and got a compliment at 4:00pm. I couldn't smell anything unless I stuck my nose under my t-shirt. Go easy on the sprays fellas...you're probably still projecting.

Happened to me, but the moment I dozed off for over 30 mins and woke up, my fragrance was booming. And that was 6+ hours after spray. People should stop being a cry baby for the opening harshness of any scent in the world. It's just less than 5 minutes time which require patience. Enjoy the harshness! Yes it a perfume is way expensive, you've the right to criticise.
Hard disagree. It maybe less than 5 minutes or whatever, but why would you pay for something that smells like trash at any point in its life? One should only wear what they like, start to finish & not waste their money on any perfume which smells bad at any point in its life.
Smell is subjective! I really really really dislike CDNIM so much that I gave my bottle away for free...to a stranger just to ensure I wouldn't smell it off any of my friends or family. To me it smells horribly synthetic. Back to my first point, scent is subjective, what I like is what I like. Don't be such a narcissist, just because you enjoy something doesn't mean everyone else has to....
Well I wouldn't say that I'd like harshness at all, for 30 bucks sure a scent can be great even with that early harshness, but is it really that bad to ask the manufacturer to improve?
@@amaladiguna8873 the manufacturer always accept the customers request. The example is CDN I man EDP version... They removed the harshness. And the new 4 CDN are not harsh at all right from the spray.
Armaf is a high end luxury niche house. I expect the highest quality from them. Chanel amd Dior has been cloning Armaf for years. -Vice President Joe Biden
that bad lemon smell goes away after 5 mins and then it starts to smell like a slightly fresher version of BDC. Which in my opinion makes BDC smell even better. Also with my experience with Armaf fragrances, they need to oxidized for a few weeks before they smell they're best. The harsh bad openings start to fade and the colonge starts to be more smooth and actually become closer to the frag they're cloning so keep that in mind.
Most (98%) of people out there are not into fragrances like us fragrance geeks therefore they won't know the difference in quality and ingredients used from "A" fragrance vs "B" fragrance!. Just spray on the fragrance you can afford and that smells really nice to you and to others and you'll be JUST fine, I know this by experience!.On the other hand if you are a perfectionist and rabid fragrances collector and have the $$$ to spend then go out and knock yourself out!!!!
I’ve learned this lesson the hard way. I went out to dinner with my wife and one of her girl friends wearing Silver Mountain Water (real thing) and neither of them said anything about it. Another of their guy friends showed up wearing A&F Fierce and my wife’s friend immediately complimented him for his scent.
Honestly bro get yourself a bottle of Valentino uomo intense and mix that with your sillage and thank me later 🤣🤣it is the cleanest smellin mix my nostrils ever smelt🤣
I never mind a harsh opening. In fact, I mostly ignore it. Its a note thats supposed to be gone in 5 to 10 minutes and maybe its end chords blend into the base note. Im a fan of a longlasting and pleasant end of a perfume that mixes with my body chemistry and creates a nice aftersmell.
Hey Ash, my Terra Nova traveler came today. I gave it a brief spray just to smell it and this is right in my wheel house for fragrances. Gonna wear it to the office tomorrow and will follow up with any comments I may receive. Really well done bud!

Oh it definitely will. Just wait it out a few months after the hype dies down and supply picks up. Same thing happened with Milestone. Started out around 50-60 usd and now you can get it for under 30 bucks.
In the past year or so, I started dipping my feet into the "clone" market. I gave Alt Fragrances a try, and they either TOTALLY knock a scent out of the park, or they miss by a mile! Armaf really is on another level! CDNIM (edp) is almost indistinguishable from my OG Creed Aventus. (Almost 😂) But it's certainly close enough to make spending $350 seem foolish! I haven't tried Iconic yet. But I just ordered one and made a spot for it right next to the other 5 bottles of Armaf (Silage, Milestone, Untold, Cdnim edt & edp) that I own.
I feel like noone can copy bleu de chanel🤔 there are a lot of clones of sauvage, aventus and stuff and they are really similar and you get the vibe. But i never once smelled a BDC clone that had this classed up bdc vibe

I presently own the OG Missoni BDC inspiration which is well known as also going in a lavender heavy direction. I know that knowing that doesn't make your decision any easier, but at least you can be confident in your decision to buy Missoni it that's the way you choose to go. Personally, I love the DNA so much that I'll still probably buy iconic when the price goes down.

i don’t think Missoni pour homme smells anything like BDC to be honest with you. it’s its own fragrance. i haven’t tried Iconic, but i would go with Iconic.

I got my bottle of CDNIM Iconic. Had it for a month or more. I did not like it at first. The smell was off to me. I thought I wasted $. I wore it again 2 days in a row. I am digging it. Glad that I didn't give up on it. It has that fresh and woody blue smell. Plus.. it last a long time on my skin. Not sure toward the projection. Still getting used to it. Great purchase in my opinion.
Is because courier effect??? I buy untold, first time i sniff, i just smell alcohol and water, now im still on macerate aging process for a month,. So you just have two days to get a normal smell?
@@amaterasublack3519 Not sure what courier effect is. To answer your question. I had CDNIM Iconic for over a month now. I was not sure about it the first time I used it. So, it has set and macerated for maybe 3 weeks. I used it again after the 3 weeks and now I'm liking it more and more. I will continue to let it sit and macerate and see if it gets better or worse. Time will tell.
Club de Nuit men intense is not for extreme high or direct heat. Where as club de Nuit iconic you can wear at high intense heat. But both are summer fragrances.
I have Intense LE, Urban Man Elixer, Untold, and Iconic and I would Rate them Untold, Elixer, Iconic, and Intense LE. All 4 of them being great to me. In conclusion buy all 4 😂😂😂

But since you're the only reviewer I've seen talk about Insignia by Carolina Herrera I'm wondering if they're as similar to you as they are to me. I'm no expert reviewer but I think they smell similar and wondered if I'm alone in that thought process?

Of course it is going to be redundant if you buy both, there is so many types of fragrance out there to buy 2 clones of the same thing. And instead of buying 3,4 clones, save up, buy the real thing. Orrr buy samples. Also you can buy both, keep the one you like and sell the other one.

I own iconic and had a sample turathi blue. I think they’re similar when you spray ‘em on, but turathi quickly becomes a sort of dusty, pissy scent while iconic remains zesty and turns a little sweet. I love Iconic. Have bdc edp too, I think it’s u much classier sophisticated scent, don’t get all the comparisons. But on itself, I love Iconic
The problem with this perfume is that it jumps off to dry down too fast. As usual, every fougere from Armaf/Sterling shares the same base notes, namely ambroxan,vetiver, vertofix,mostly trimofix, some sandalwood ACs such as bacdanol, polysantol etc. To be honest, as a hobbyist perfume designer I think Ebanol and Mysore Core is the king among sandalwood ACs. I also own Flavia Elite from Sterling, which is parenting company for Armaf, and Iconic and Elite smells identical at the drydown. But Iconic is watered down in basenotes compared to Elite. Well for the price it is not worth, there is another clone Alhambra Blue De Chance which is way cheaper, more longlasting, projecting, citrusy. Alhambra one is great cheapie for the quality it serves
@@officerfranktenpenny626 my words stand same for top notes, I guess they used some mediocre quality essential oils for top notes. I would use some EOs from Robertet or Payan Bertrand, or some other leading companies which has proved their product quality over years, but given the price tag for the perfume it makes sense. As for the base notes, I was wrong to jump to conclusion. after maceration and testing it on an extended time, I can clearly say that it is the base notes that makes this perfume powerful. Drydown lasts for days
I purchased the fragrance Club De Nuit Blue Iconic. For some reason, there is a chymosis. The plume is not so strong. And the fragrance itself is quite similar to blue de chanel. Maybe he needs to stand for a while? Or did I purchase a fake? How can this be determined?

Also.. how can a review be done on this product if you have not worn it outside or more than a few days? Also, it sounds like a new formula. Just like the new 2021/2022 CDNIM EDT batches, wouldn't it need to macerate? Kinda hard to make a fair assessment IMO on a new cologne, right?!?
Not really, it's also not really a first impression he's smelled it before, and when you're as experienced or just had a lot of experience with fragrance, you can have a pretty accurate sense of the fragrance, maybe not necessarily longevity. However the whole letting it age is a bit ridiculous, more of people not liking it when they first got it, forgot about it and tried it again later, to discover they might have liked it more than when they first got it, be it from letting the hype or excitement wear away or they develop thier nose some more in that time to appreciate it a bit more.
I can’t get into these Armaf fragrances with that cap that looks like a dice where no matter how you roll it comes up deuces. That to me is all I need to know about the fragrance. 🤣🤣🤣

I have a Bleu de Chanel EDT 7 years old & bought a new one few weeks ago The one that is 7 years old smells waaay better, stronger and more potent Is this because I kept it for 7 years and the oils became stronger? Is this a thing?
it is most likely because of reformulations that happen to almost every popular fragrance , over the years hit frags have been reformulated , giving it a different spin off the original

Tried Bleu De Chanel edt,tbh Idk what people see in that fragrance.It lasted 15 min on my paper sample,afterwards turns into some soapy scent,terrible overpriced junk.Same goes for Sauvage,who's perfume variations edp and p are also so short lasting it's 5$ worth imo.These companies take us for fools.

Spot on! The more you spray the less you smell it and the more you smell your wrist the quicker you get olfactory fatigue.

I have Missoni Pour Homme as my BdC clone. Would CdN Iconic be pretty redundant or is it different enough to justify a purchase?
Of course it is going to be redundant if you buy both, there is so many types of fragrance out there to buy 2 clones of the same thing.
And instead of buying 3,4 clones, save up, buy the real thing. Orrr buy samples.
Also you can buy both, keep the one you like and sell the other one.
missoni pour homme doesn't smell like BDC at all in my opinion.

Any chance you or anyone else in the comments has compared this to the Armaf Bleu Voyage? They’re both supposedly clones of the BDC
personally, I dont like the "with a twist" fragrances because it shows that you cant afford the original and it also isnt its own unique scent.

Then..don’t buy clones period? Essentially all clones are “with a twist”, if one likes the original scent, you buy the original.

Given the $50 price tag, why not just buy BDC? BDC isn’t that expensive for what you’re getting
A 100ml is over 100, so twice as much. 50 is a little high, but it's also a new release, get it a few months, the price will drop.

Yup. It definitely makes sense having both. They smell totally opposite from each other. I have both and I am glad to have them in my collection. They both smell awesome.. last a long time..and are crowd pleasers. I figured Ash would not respond back to you so I did. Lol. Have a great day.👍
I own iconic and had a sample turathi blue. I think they’re similar when you spray ‘em on, but turathi quickly becomes a sort of dusty, pissy scent while iconic remains zesty and turns a little sweet. I love Iconic. Have bdc edp too, I think it’s u much classier sophisticated scent, don’t get all the comparisons. But on itself, I love Iconic

The problem with this perfume is that it jumps off to dry down too fast. As usual, every fougere from Armaf/Sterling shares the same base notes, namely ambroxan,vetiver, vertofix,mostly trimofix, some sandalwood ACs such as bacdanol, polysantol etc. To be honest, as a hobbyist perfume designer I think Ebanol and Mysore Core is the king among sandalwood ACs. I also own Flavia Elite from Sterling, which is parenting company for Armaf, and Iconic and Elite smells identical at the drydown. But Iconic is watered down in basenotes compared to Elite. Well for the price it is not worth, there is another clone Alhambra Blue De Chance which is way cheaper, more longlasting, projecting, citrusy. Alhambra one is great cheapie for the quality it serves
i thought the same thing, that nice fresh opening dries down quick to the smoky notes, if only the opening was longer.
@@officerfranktenpenny626 my words stand same for top notes, I guess they used some mediocre quality essential oils for top notes. I would use some EOs from Robertet or Payan Bertrand, or some other leading companies which has proved their product quality over years, but given the price tag for the perfume it makes sense. As for the base notes, I was wrong to jump to conclusion. after maceration and testing it on an extended time, I can clearly say that it is the base notes that makes this perfume powerful. Drydown lasts for days

I purchased the fragrance Club De Nuit Blue Iconic. For some reason, there is a chymosis. The plume is not so strong. And the fragrance itself is quite similar to blue de chanel. Maybe he needs to stand for a while? Or did I purchase a fake? How can this be determined?
Hmmm 🤔.. kinda interesting!! Not sure if it's worth $50 bucks or not. I do like that it is a clone of Chanel Bleu. I will wait until the price drops.
Also.. how can a review be done on this product if you have not worn it outside or more than a few days? Also, it sounds like a new formula. Just like the new 2021/2022 CDNIM EDT batches, wouldn't it need to macerate? Kinda hard to make a fair assessment IMO on a new cologne, right?!?
Not really, it's also not really a first impression he's smelled it before, and when you're as experienced or just had a lot of experience with fragrance, you can have a pretty accurate sense of the fragrance, maybe not necessarily longevity. However the whole letting it age is a bit ridiculous, more of people not liking it when they first got it, forgot about it and tried it again later, to discover they might have liked it more than when they first got it, be it from letting the hype or excitement wear away or they develop thier nose some more in that time to appreciate it a bit more.
I can’t get into these Armaf fragrances with that cap that looks like a dice where no matter how you roll it comes up deuces. That to me is all I need to know about the fragrance. 🤣🤣🤣

Have you heard of the new(ish) release from Dunhill, Desire Platinum? It released out of nowhere and kinda flew under the radar since then (not even a real note break down on fragrantica and similar sites) I blind bought it recently tho and i really dig it! Great value for the price. Would really appreciate you reviewing it at some point

it is most likely because of reformulations that happen to almost every popular fragrance , over the years hit frags have been reformulated , giving it a different spin off the original

I would put bit more money and buy Dylan blue 200 ml. You get a better compliment getter, better performer and something authentic in 200 ml size.

Tried Bleu De Chanel edt,tbh Idk what people see in that fragrance.It lasted 15 min on my paper sample,afterwards turns into some soapy scent,terrible overpriced junk.Same goes for Sauvage,who's perfume variations edp and p are also so short lasting it's 5$ worth imo.These companies take us for fools.
