I just bought "Trouble with Girls" at the iTunes Store in 1080p. "Lord almighty!", as the King would say. What a beauty. Who ever has - like I do - a soft spot for this underrated little gem: Go and get it in HD. You won't regret it.
Its so true what she said to Elvis Presley, that is my favorite part of the movie. Elvis could of got so many better acting roles, he never got the chance for his full potential very sad but Thank God he made those films, To keep him emortalized and his image to live on Elvis Presley was to unique to ever be forgotten
His drama roles tho there weren't many brought out his acting for sure tho wild in the country is one of my fave and jailhouse rock his character awsome good guy jailed killing a man by accident comes out being mean fame going to his head pushing the girl he loves away being a bit of a dick towards her and his friend almost dies coz he he didn't want to fight terrified of killing again learns to appreciate everyone gets the girl total rollercoaster of a movie so it was good to c him act like that too his first 4 movies flaming star love him doing comedy too just after mid 6o to around 67 he played same thing over and over and not as good songwriters for them still enjoyable just we knew he did better so he deserved better was offerd better gi blues was a hoot with the baby I loved it happened at words fair Kurt Russell kicks him twice second one too hard by mistake and his cute relationship with that little girl he looks after comedy ones live a little love a little hilarious with that dog which apparently was his dog ithet b4 movie or took it after anyhoo awsome 4 sure
man, he suddenly looked facially mature. I mean, his previous pictures like Live A Little Love A Little didn't look like him here. I think he looked the best in this movie and Change Of Habit. I don't know if it's just me, but by just looking at Elvis's face in a movie, you could tell what year it was. Like this and Change of Habit, you could tell it was 69'.
I've never seen that film looks like a good one I think Elvis could act there was more to him than just singing which was amazing of course they just didn't give him the chance he deserved in my opinion thank you 👍
He would have played a good sophisticated lawyer or slick gangster damn the kind of screwed Elvis He had all the talent and Charisma just as much as Paul Newman Robert Mitchum Brando I wish you never listen to the colonel so he could achieve what he wanted to and what his abilities called for how sad underrated great scene

And the film had many famous character actors of the era and terrific performances. Sheree North here is wonderful -- as always in her parts. This is the same year she made "True Grit" with John Wayne and cried in that one too. Presley should have been picked up for more dramatic roles after this. He had already proven his ability opposite some of Hollywood's heavyweights -- including Barbara Stanwyck, Delores del Rio, Rudy Vallee, Angela Lansbury, Walter Matthau, Vic Morrow and Charles Bronson. (That's right, Charles Bronson -- look it up). Even the director Michael Curtiz ("Casablanca") who directed Elvis in "King Creole" said Presley's talent was wasted and his potential was great.
She made The Shootist with Wayne. She was a very underappreciated actress and had a very good, long career. She could do anything.....dance, do comedy and drama.
His films are underrated. It’s the critics and media in general talking them down.. Eventually even Elvis started believing it. He was a great actor. Just didn’t get the crdit he deserved. So many mediocre actors today being swooned over. 🙃

He should have played James Bond the Charisma was fit for it he should have played mcgarrett in Hawaii Five-O I think you would have been great in the TV series The Big Valley this is a classic scene showing up with could do serious acting his best movies are probably keep Galahad wild in the country flaming star loving you Jailhouse Rock those are probably his best ones underrated actor for sure he had bad Management in the most part bad scripts but when he got a good role he was pretty good very good actually Charro was great too was a better actor than the sum of the movies they put him in
Hated this movie when I was a child 'cos Mr. P didn't sing enough. Now that I'm older it's an odd duck(for the time) but very effective film and he's quite good in it. No Flaming Star or King Creole, but quite good. Great supporting cast.
I always thought the name of this movie was totally wrong! I always thought it should have been called CHAUTAUQUA ! it was odd and makes people think! the name would not be the Trouble with girls if Elvis was not in it!

@elvispresley11 Actually it wasn't '69 but late '68. The movie was shot from October 28th to mid-December 1968. But I know what you mean. :)
