So the reason that he actually turned her fork over in that one scene wasn't because he was OCD. It was because during their time, the way you displayed whether you liked the meal or not was to turn the fork on your plate one way or another. She was telling him that she did not like the meal and that it was bad. He disagreed with her by turning her fork over to show that she did like it. Hope that helps explain that scene a bit better. Also,, I would strongly recommend reading the actual book itself because that explains a lot more than this movie does. I love Edgar Rice Burroughs's works. The man's a genius!

It is definitely closer to the books than any other Tarzan adaptation. And I enjoyed this film regardless of what others think. I can actually say Dylan annoyed me hardcore during this reaction. 🙄🙄
It was more in line with the original story but it was portrayed poorly and I agree with Dylan on most of what he said. They didn't really keep consistency on what Tarzan could na document do off example the powerful kick. Plus, the camera angles were questionable to the point where I could literally picture the director and producers behind the camera and I could picture the props being used to help the actors for example the tree scene where they try really had to show off Tarzan's strength yet don't show you him actually lifting his whole body of the ground which then takes you out of the illusion that Tarzan is this really strong man. I will say that I disagree with Dylan when he said it was bad that Tarzan referred to Karla as a person instead of an animal because to him she was a person seeing as he is very much in touch with nature and sees all animals as humans.
I agree with both, it definitely was more in line with the books but it could have been done better. But that was the reason many disliked it, they went into in expecting a Disney remake of Tarzan. I remember hearing that and was annoyed because first off it was made by a different company not even a Disney movie, and Disney really butchered the cartoon film. xXJokerAtWorkXx I’m very familiar with the original story. It was actually one of my favorites growing up. I also know that the original book is thought to be based off a man who was actually shipwrecked on the coast of Africa for over a decade. I just find it funny that dylan was saying it’s not possible for Tarzan to know all of the animals when the whole story is literally not possible.
As far as I know there have been recorded cases of children raised by animals but I believe they were normally a little older than Tarzan supposedly was.
But those children didn't live very long lives, some of the cases the child had some deformity from learning to move like the animal that raised them. Plus, when they were rescued they weren't able to adjust to society, the way we live and act, if they were the rare case that survived AND learnt how to talk they would only be able to learn a few words. Their brains literally do not have the capacity to learn this things, the brain doesn't develop and you lose the ability to learn more complicated things (like talking) if you are not exposed to the stimuli from a young age. Also they don't like the company of other children and adults, most of them prefer animals that were similar to the ones that raised them (e.g., there was this kid that was raised by dogs)
Matilde Nogueira as a psychology major, I completely agree with you. By the age of six, a child’s brain is 90% developed and it is almost impossible for them to learn any developmental skills like reading, writing, etc. So if by chance there ever was anyone who was stranded in a jungle as a child, much less an infant like tarzan, there would be literally no way for them to adapt into society at the level tarzan did. The idea of a child teaching them self language is absurd as, if never exposed to it previously, they wouldn’t have any knowledge or understanding of sounds and pronunciation. There would also be no other source to use that language with which would most likely result in the child not using the language at all. Nonetheless, it’s hilarious how my comment about a fictional character and story was taken so seriously that we actually have to debate if this is possible.
I mean, even then theres some sense. Like he was raised by gorillas so he can speak the language. That's set up. But him knowing every single animal is absurd and not something really set up

I actually really liked this movie and it's version of the story. I thought it was very thoughtful, intelligent (for a Tarzan movie) with charismatic characters and you get to see not only his relationship with the animals but other humans in the country. This is the only remake I actually own.
Dylan: Remember that the made a live action Tarzan movie? Me: No! I would have definitely watched that! Also Me: realizes halfway through that I actually watched that film but completely erased it from my memory lol
Oh my gosh, this is exactly me. At first I thought I was remembering scenes from the trailer, until I realised that I'm remembering every single scene, so I definitely at some point in my life watched this movie. But my brain does not remember how and when that happened. lol
Hearing him talk about landscape shots and close-ups makes me wonder how he'd feel watching the Maze Runner trilogy- especially the Scorch Trials. There's a specific shot in that movie I'd love to see him react to.
1:06 The really funny thing is that Tarzan's mom died of sickness or something and his dad got killed by Kerchak. The absolutely hilarious thing is that it's Kerchak's fault that Kala even considered adopting Tarzan, because Kerchak tried to kill Kala which led to the death of her own baby.
14:04 whoever made this movie thought that a cool strong character can never be phased by whatever situation they’re in or they’ll look not as strong, but when I think of how other movies portray cool characters like nick fury and black widow in marvel. There are moments I recall where there is visible worry and anxiety on their faces. For example the scene where fury is being hunted down in his car in the winter soldier, and it’s the same with black widow in various scenes within the movie.
As well as The sword in the stone, The black cauldron, The fox and the hound, Quest for Camelot, (Though that last one isn't really a Disney movie) Still, they're all great movies that don't get the attention they deserve; its quite a shame really.
Why is no one talking about that Titanic clip right before Jane jumps in the water!! 🤣🤣🤣🤣 That's so bloody hilarious....Jack: No you wont...Jane: and I oop...
I think what people don't understand is that this is based on the Tarzan series by Edgar Rice Burroughs which started in 1912. This is a good adaptation of the books and at least I as a fan of the books loved it. It's not 100% perfect, but it is the only adaptation that I've seen that at least TRIED to look like the books.
Yep. It's maybe the only adaptation that I can tell actually read it. Dylan makes a slip of the tongue in this video and accidentally ends up being more faithful to the source material than the Disney film, and I don't think he knows those books exist.
Dude's gone mad with popular channel power. SMH I always kinda suspected this would happen eventually, but not when Dylan's so young. Oh well, can't really fault the guy. Happens to the best of them.
Well, not exactly. He could communicate with animals the same way you or I might communicate with a pet, through familiarity. He could only ACTUALLY communicate with the Mangani, and that's because the Mangani could talk. They had a language. They're not gorillas.
“I wonder if he tried to have sex with a gorilla?” Well, in the books (I believe the 2nd one) he falls in love with a female gorilla (this takes place when he was a teenager). I don’t know if he acted on it, because it got WAY too weird and I skipped to the next book. So in short, probably 🤮
I mean he was raised to be one of them so he would also be attracted to them in some form as it's all he knows as beauty and keeping his tribe alive. Though of course in some respect hed find the weirdness cuz they just dont fit anatomically. I find it interesting he did cuz I always wondered if thatd happen and in the books apparently he also knew about actually black tribes so I'm surprised he didnt fall for one of them. Though I heard the book was...questionable about its representation of other people 😐
It's amazing how disneyfied our perception of certain stories have become so that we find it weird when a movie tries to stay closer to the origin story...I think Mulan is another example of that. I don't exclude myself at all by the way.
Old comment, but my two cents is Mulan is a terrible comparison. The live action was an American take at doing Chinese film trope of fantasy action movies. Nothing was historically accurate about it to the point that it was clear they didn't even try for accuracy from historically to culturally. Would've been best to have skipped the Chinese fantasy rip and went off of the animation as a basis. It was such a bad take on chinese culture and history that it made @XiranJayZhao youtube career by her first video ever roasting it and catching 3.4 million views.
@@nikkiparson7113 The live action movie was awful, but OP never said it wasn't. OP only said that the western public perception is so disneyfied, that people think and act like the animated movie was the original version of the story. People talk like it's the original and when they criticize the remake, they criticize it based on their understanding of the animated movie, not because it's not culturally or historically accurate, despite the animated movie also not being either and also not being the original version.

I took a Lit class is college where the theme was masculinity. One of the books we read was Tarzan. I wanted to write my final paper about the book (I can’t remember what about specifically, but it had something to do with Tarzan’s odd standards about who he can kill or eat or something). My professor rejected the topic because “none of that book makes logical sense” 😂😂😂😂
I’ve seen this movie, but I forgot and repressed every memory of it until now. I literally asked myself when I saw this video “when was this movie made?” But I’ve literally seen it. That’s how forgettable this movie was.
There is a good reason you won’t usually see an actor eat anything or if they do it’s very tiny bites. They film scenes multiple times so if they actually take a bite of food during a scene they are going to be stuck taking that same bite multiple times over the course of not only the one day but any time they need to reshoot their scene. (So for example Barbosa from pirates of the Caribbean taking that big bite of apple was a very daring move because he probably had to bite into an apple over a dozen times to get that shot.)

I actually really liked this movie and it's version of the story. I thought it was very thoughtful, intelligent (for a Tarzan movie) with charismatic characters and you get to see not only his relationship with the animals but other humans in the country. This is the only remake I actually own.
16:43 Actually no. Doing that means you didn't enjoy your meal. Meanwhile putting the knives and forks the way he did means you loved your meal.

Dylan: Remember that the made a live action Tarzan movie?
Me: No! I would have definitely watched that!
Also Me: realizes halfway through that I actually watched that film but completely erased it from my memory lol
technically, they've made a lot of tarzan live action, even way beford disney made the animated version.
Oh my gosh, this is exactly me. At first I thought I was remembering scenes from the trailer, until I realised that I'm remembering every single scene, so I definitely at some point in my life watched this movie. But my brain does not remember how and when that happened. lol

The really funny thing is that Tarzan's mom died of sickness or something and his dad got killed by Kerchak.

If I ever manage to write a book that’s good enough to be turned into a movie I’m asking Dylan to direct it 😂🤣

Tbh sometimes they just cast him as the popular angry black man and it's not always needed. Definitely makes the movie Snakes on a Plane fantastic.

Watch Atlantis: The Lost Empire. It’s a grossly underrated Disney film.
Zain Hartono and dont forget treasure planet!
Zain Hartono exactly !! I actually really liked the movie and i’m surprised it’s so ignored and underrated.

Atlantis, Treasure Planet, and Emperor's New Groove.
As well as The sword in the stone, The black cauldron, The fox and the hound, Quest for Camelot, (Though that last one isn't really a Disney movie) Still, they're all great movies that don't get the attention they deserve; its quite a shame really.

Jessie Slater he grew up around them, I think he learned how differentiate between the lions

9:16 to be fair, Lions do have territories, if he know's where he is, he could conceivably run in to his friends lol. (I haven't seen the movie)

The Euphoria with the diaper eating orrr...
Tarzan was portrayed stronger than humans and with better senses, also he had the ability to communicate with the animals.
Well, not exactly. He could communicate with animals the same way you or I might communicate with a pet, through familiarity.
He could only ACTUALLY communicate with the Mangani, and that's because the Mangani could talk. They had a language. They're not gorillas.
@@bad-people6510 But by growing up around them he had a better understanding and "reading" their every move.
Once again Dylan making me anxious because I don't know when he's gonna drop movie commentary Monday
“I wonder if he tried to have sex with a gorilla?”
Well, in the books (I believe the 2nd one) he falls in love with a female gorilla (this takes place when he was a teenager). I don’t know if he acted on it, because it got WAY too weird and I skipped to the next book. So in short, probably 🤮
Nah he didn't. I think he fought for her, won against some other gorilla but couldn't bring himself to do it because something about it felt off

Though I heard the book was...questionable about its representation of other people 😐
I’ve watched the little mermaid on Netflix. Definently the worst movie ever made
TRUE
Yeah but that ones not Disney
AHAHAHA SO TRUE
Actually it’s not that bad. If you just have an open-mind it’s an okay movie. It’s just the story is really tweaky in a lot a places
The original??....nvm

No fiction makes logical sense
Wow, your college was really going against the grain. Also, your professor seems like a dip-shit.

Also Dylan: *ends video so abruptly it's shocking, with no wrap up or closing thoughts*
5:14 Corrections to this guy reacting:
1.) It was a leopard, not a tiger. It’s name was Sabor, a female. 🐆
2.) She is not in the books or in any part of the original story. That’s just an additional non-speaking character added in the Disney Tarzan movie that killed Tarzan’s birth parents.
