Took my UK motorcycle test on an AR125 back in the late 80's. Passed first time :)

I took mine to my lessons. After the first session the instructor made me take one of his CG125s as I had gassed him out for an hour and a half. Halfeay through the lesson he also said "slow down, its not the fucking TT". Oh to be 17 again.

Agree, rs125 owners were always surprised how well it kept up. I got pulled over for doing 87mph on mine on L plates. Even the cop said it was rapid as he gave me the bollocking of my life.

Had a 1991 green one at 17 around 2005. I thought I was the dogs dick and did my test on it. I think it was around 24bhp, wasn't much slower than my mates NSR125 but was half the price. Genuinely one of my favourite bikes. Got a GPZ500 after my test but couldn't bring myself to sell the AR until I was moving out a few years later.
