If you cannot create waypoints on a multiplayer server or there are no pre-set waypoints at all, you will not be able to create a new waypoint. This should of been fixed by now but hasn't. The work around however is to open your EHSD and create a markpoint at your current location by pressing MK0 (found on the bottom row of on screen buttons) you should then be able to create waypoints normally.
How were you able to slew the Maverick independently so smoothly? Whenever I try to do that I'm lucky if I can get the sensor back on the same airfield, let alone a selected tank
So, you can use the offset function as an initial point marker if you want to engage a position from a sepcific direction? Pretty nice function tbh. The more I play with the Harrier the more I love it. It's just a shame she carries such a limited payload if you're embarking from a carrier... especially when you're as crap as I am at air refueling.
is there bug or problem about "create new waypoint" because i'm setting pos N&E cordinates.. Pressing Enter button 3-5 times but not accept cordinates in data... Not showing cordinates on data secreen but if click designate button. its showing me on hud.
nice videos, thanks! When I box DATA the aircraft symbol slews very fast and the upper right GPS coordinates change rapidly as well. Is this a bug? It does this in INS mode, and the other modes too.
The Harrier has incorrect INS simulation. The INS mode is strictly restricted to HUD, why it is called "HUD mode". When you select INS mode with SSS Forward, it allows pilot to designate a target, or slew the target designation diamond only when it is inside the HUD instant view. And it should be moving relative to the HUD view point, not to "map mode" as would be seen from top-down like now. The INS mode is a backup mode for the pilot to visually acquire target and maintain target designation on it. The so called "MAP DESG" mode is only for AV-8B+ Harrier where you have radar to do Ground Mapping and you could then use MAP mode to designate target area from radar generated map. When entering to EHSI > DATA and selecting waypoint for editing, that is when you should get automatically TDC assigned to move the waypoint around, and in that state TDC does nothing else. Using SSS to switch any other mode should cancel the editing and return EHSI to its state and assign TDC to corresponding mode that was selected with SSS. Harrier is waiting complete rewrite, so hopefully it will get fixed properly that time.
(edit) Sorry, thought this was a Hornet video, The Targeting pod cannot auto-slave to the waypoint, the harriers integration to the LITENING II is very limited, you'l have to Desg the waypoint then fly the TPOD crosshair on the hud over the desg marker on the hud and slew to lock the rough location.
I can't even get the INS align anymore. The HUD will not work properly without it. Sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't .....I'm completely lost since last couple of cahnges. I wonder if you can do a current patch startup ... it all used to work fine until recent updates.
The default map setting is good for the harrier, i included how to change it for future proofing, for those who might want to use grid co-ordinates instead for when that's implemented.
When u say u can receive targets from other forces do u mean by the lat/long figures? Also could you tell me your input tune settings for your stick pls? I'm using the Warthog & they seem a bit inaccurate. If flown a Harrier & i know how sensitive the controls are. Great work btw, keep it up.
Yes, im referring to communicating lat/long over radio, I fly with a warthog and 10cm extension which changes the values a bit, i've got 15 curve on both axis
Another question, sorry. Tried to use this method for the mav e’s using the TPOD but it didn’t seem to lock onto the dmt target. Am I sound something wrong?
Olivier Gaming I’m confused. The TPOD is on the right MPCD and I’m not using IR Mavericks so what does pressing up on the sensor button do? I can see the target diamond on my HUD & I think the DMT is locked but the TPOD isn’t.
Is there a problem with way points on MP? no matter what server i play when i set a way point it just comes up as all 0's, iv'e followed this video to the letter and no luck on MP :(
It should of been fixed by now but hasn't sadly. In order to create waypoints manually you need at least one stored. The work around is to go to your EHSD page and press the MK0 button (this create a markpoint on your current location) then you'l be able to add waypoints as shown in this video.
Ah cool so its not just me been daft rofl, And the mark point trick will work on say servers such as blueflag ect? also awesome content keep it up buddy, Learnt a lot from your videos much appreciated as is the speedy reply
Are you using a really old build? (1.5?) the displays have been green for quite a long time, it reflects how it is in the real aircraft. it was originally grey because of a dcs engine camera limitation.
Awesome tutorial, as usual! Thanks to you I'm enjoying flying the Harrier more and more! By the way, can you tell me if the bug with using TPOD PT mode after cold start fixed yet? It just doesn't switch into that mode after cold start on the ground while working fine after hot start. Thanks again!

Ya just experienced this on growling sidewinder it seems to crash the game everytime without fail
Has the MK0 option been recently removed? I'm trying to add a markpoint but cannot see this option anywhere?
@@lordmandrake5468 You should still be able to find it, it'l be on the EHSD just left of the menu button on the bottom row of buttons..
Top tutorials, with clear voice and instructions. Much appreciated my friend.
You're welcome

The Harrier matured into a beautiful module.
Nice.
Thanks for this, been waiting for it for quite some time!

Is there a way to input L/L decimal type coordinates? I can only use normal L/L coordinates.
Thxs RK.. i`ll need to watch this several times to grasp the new update...
Yeah this ones quite a bit to take in if you've not done manual co-ordinates before.
Saved my ass, as usual. Thanks Kite. Hope they update the UTM mode soon. Thats the only way i use JTAC in the Hog. I needs it.
How did you slew the angle to see that side of the screen?

That does sound odd, I've noticed when inputting high decimal numbers like .8 it seems to have issues.
RedKite But I enter normal cordinates like N43,21,22 E041,23,15 ...
I can not assign / slave the TPOD to a waypoint already established, it is only possible to designate the DTM (TV), can you confirm?
Not implemented yet
This may sound like a really dumb question, but how do I turn on the odu? I go to put in my coordinates and the odu doesn’t have any option displayed

Fantastic tutorial video as usual
your waypoint tdc slew seemed to move relative to your map. mine moves relative to the direction the plane is facing. how do i change that?
I don't know if you can, being an older tutorial it's possible the system was simply changed.
will the desg button slave the tpod to the waypoint?
(edit) Sorry, thought this was a Hornet video, The Targeting pod cannot auto-slave to the waypoint, the harriers integration to the LITENING II is very limited, you'l have to Desg the waypoint then fly the TPOD crosshair on the hud over the desg marker on the hud and slew to lock the rough location.
Thanks a lot for the video! Really useful as always!
Will definitely need this as soon as they fix the RWR which they just broke in the new update :(
Yeah it's pretty painful.
I've heard that today's hotfix has corrected that issue, though not had the time to test it.
Im not seeing an update. DO you have to use the updater or should i do it automatically?
It's an update to the beta branch, you're probably on the main release branch

I feel your pain.
As always, job well done!
Thanks Red Kite your calm delivery is excellent. Exactly how do you decide what northings and eastings format to use?
The default map setting is good for the harrier, i included how to change it for future proofing, for those who might want to use grid co-ordinates instead for when that's implemented.
Top notch tutorial! Thanks.
Now that they've updated the VREST and ENG feature, please could you do a vid covering it cause I have no idea what any of it means :D

RedKite ok thank you.
Hello you did not mention the fact that this bug if you do not have at least one waypoint :)
I wasn't aware of this issue, although it's beyond most people's control since they dont mess with the editor. Hopefully that'l get fixed soon.
RedKite I understand that's why I allowed myself to tell you. Making a markpoint can also solve this problem
How does one set a markpoint?
Jack Haffenhoff at the bottom of the EHSD you have a button marked MK push on it
Epic. Many thanks.
Another question, sorry. Tried to use this method for the mav e’s using the TPOD but it didn’t seem to lock onto the dmt target. Am I sound something wrong?
You must put the IMRV button like you do with the dmt
Olivier Gaming I’m confused. The TPOD is on the right MPCD and I’m not using IR Mavericks so what does pressing up on the sensor button do? I can see the target diamond on my HUD & I think the DMT is locked but the TPOD isn’t.
the TPOD arent slave with the EHSD like DMT so you must orientate him on your diamond
Olivier Gaming you mean manually place him on the diamond with the TDC?
Madeyes6 yes

Thanks, Yes it should work in mp servers without any (further) issues.
Cool again thanks a bunch pal.
Just got round to trying it, worked an absolute charm.. buzzing :D
I.... I need to know if that Mig exploded.
Wait, why is the hud green (i'm on steam, dont have the update yet)?

Thanks Yuri, I'm afraid i don't know i tend to not use the tpod on the harrier.
nice man thanks
Jeez... My old brain is hurt lol
IMHO the DCS-AV8B harrier cockpit is better defined compared the washed out one of hornet!
Not a fan of how the UFC blocks out the MPCD's in the harrier myself, though that's less of an issue in real life / vr where you're not a Cyclops.
There is not one thing that is working for me xD
