Thank you for your work, I can understand that you praise the Filipino people a lot and also say that you are very honest, that is partly true. As a foreigner, I was often lied to and cheated. Even in municipal house I was lied to and my money was gone. When we talked to the mayor and the police like Jystuz, there was no real help, who knows how they work together? The woman in the municipal house who defrauded us of 80,000 pesos more than 17 years ago was neither fired nor punished, the mayor didn't care either. She worked in the same building until her retirement. Where the burger master also worked. I can write more stories about trust and honesty. But I also have to say that there is also honesty here.
Sorry for the experience with taking a tricycle, Nikki Wen. Foreigner ako. Nagapuyo ko sab sa Davao. Ug Nag-experience ko murag si Nikki Wen sa una. Usahay, lisod ko kaayo nga pag-kuha ang change. (Sometimes, i asked for the change of my fare but it the drivers seemed to ignore because I speak in English) Pero it's only happened with some drivers. Generally, boutan ug friendly Pinoy man. Kinahangka ka nga pangutana before magsakay.
Hi, new sub here. My name is Wesley. My wife is Filipina It is one of my heart's desires to speak fluently in Bisaya. So I believe your channel will be a great blessing for me to watch and listen with much practice I hope to achieve my goal. I lived in the Philippines for 3 years in the Manila Area so I have learned a lot about Tagalog. My wife is from Mindanao near Tagum City Where one day we will move. Blessings to you and your kindness to help many of us learn Bisaya..Merry Christmas!!!
I do appreciate your efforts Mam Jonah in teaching us your dialect, honestly I'm having so much fun with all your videos, I'm so grateful that I came across to your channel coz I really wanted to learn Bisaya to be able to understand what my bisaya friends are saying everytime I listen to them while they're talking to each other.
I'm William Harris, currently in Michigan/USA. I'm moving to Cebu city as soon as I can. My fiance is there. Thank you for being so easy to understand.
I'm also a foreigner living in Davao, and have made it a habit to ask akong asawa the fare haha. Davao is a wonderful place to live, and most people here are honest I feel. Salamat for another awesome lesson 😁
Thank you so much for another great lesson. It was very informative. I hope you and you family and friends are safe after the recent typhoon. Have a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.
Hi po Ma’am Jonah! I miss you po huhu sana po naaalala niyo pa po ako hehehe, Hapit na ang Christmas Break Ma’am! I can now focus on bisaya lessons from you! Salamat kaayo sa pag tudlo sa among tanan!!😭❤️
Thank you for the content you provide. Which video would you suggest starting with ? Can you recommend a progression for study? I live in Digos City and am invited to preach at churches from time to time and learning Bisaya would very helpful for me.
Hi!!!! I heard u say in a video that u teach Mindanao bisaya which makes me wonder if I will be understood in cebu region? By the way I really appreciate your classes...I will not hesitate to encourage ($)u if u provide a link
Salamat Mam. Hinaot nga makakuha kag gamay nga kasayuran ani. Salamat.
Anong benefits ng pagaaral ng bisaya? Kahit cguro nasa Visayas or Mindanao region naman ako ay nakakaintindi naman ng tagalog ang kausap ko or English.
I'm a bit confused, in another video with the alphabet you said Bisaya has only "a", "i" and "u" vowel sounds, but I hear you say o sometimes, like in adding "o" 31:07 here. Can you explain, please? Salamat.
Hi Jonah, I am trying to avoid confusion. I know enough Visyan to be dangerous. Many words are the same but there are a view words different from what I learned and your lessons. To provide one example, the word "storya" is "sulti" from what I learned and also in the Bisayan - English translator. Why the difference? That is one of many words.
storya-talking/telling sulti-say/tell storya/sulti can be used interchangeably but there is a slight difference. example: Nag storya mi ni Jane. I am talking with Jane. example: Nag sulti si Jane na gwapa ko. Jane said I am pretty. Hope it helps.
Dumaguete, officially the City of Dumaguete (Cebuano: Dakbayan sa Dumaguete), is a 3rd class component city and capital of the province of Negros Oriental. They also speak Bisaya/Cebuano.
