guys, i gave my speaking test today. i had the sweetest examiner, yet i made errors that i wouldn't ever make. part 1 questions went well, but just when things felt like they were in my control, i made the stupidest mistake known to mankind. i said 'calm and compound' instead of 'calm and composed.' she even lip-synced 'composed?????' i could hear the question marks. next problem: she asked me, 'does music calm you down?' my response was about how music has always been around me since i was a child (i don't vividly remember if i said yes or not). now, let's move to part 2. i was given the topic about an appointment/event where i was late. i was pretty confident because i had practiced a cue card that was remotely like this. i self-corrected myself almost two times and finished about 10 seconds early. in those ten seconds, i took a brief pause, cooked up a story in 3-4 seconds, and started with 'besides, there's another instance i'd like to talk about,' but she stopped me. part 3. oh, my part 3. remember when i said she was the sweetest? well... i had perfect responses for the questions asked, but she kept cross-questioning me: 'why do you feel that?' 'how is that going to help?' 'any other example?' she would state one question and then add another after i had given a response. i feel i did well, but when i sit and retrospect, these mistakes are making me anxious. i added c1/c2 vocabulary, and to my knowledge, there weren't any grammatical errors. as for fluency and cohesion, i did correct myself in the cue card question. she did give me those 'good going' expressions, but at times, she looked like she wanted more and wasn't satisfied.

I'm amazed that you think her answers deserve an 8.5..there were a lot of pauses, repetitions, parroting the questions and self corrections. She was not speaking fluently enough to deserve this high score and the answers were not that great too..
Well I don't know about you but if you gey suddenly bombarded with random questions that you don't have alot of time to think up answers, I'd say the pauses and corrections are inevitable, coupled with the pressure that comes with it
@@Infiniti_amv I'm saying she doesn't deserve this score. If you're aware of the points on which speaking is scored in IELTS, you would realise my point
@@LatissimoTwinTurbo Well, I'm an IELTS trainer and l don't think she deserves an 8.5. maybe 7.5 at the most. I've come across a lot of students giving better answers without so many pauses and with better ideas.

I got an 8 and I’d say just listen to this guy’s advice, don’t look up things as “ielts vocabulary” as long as you speak clearly and get your point across you’ll get a good score. For writing try not to make spelling mistakes as that can significantly reduce your score. Listening and reading is fairly easy

She made herself understood but nevertheless did not elaborate on the answers, usted "I think" too many times, could have replaced It at times

Hello, In which time. And Date will Write this Exam? Over Eight months I'm waiting for the Exam for my on thinking I already finish my on.
No mistakes at all. Spoke with a range of grammar. Probably not that idiomatic but it’s quite fluent
@@LatissimoTwinTurbo Well, I'm an IELTS trainer and l don't think she deserves an 8.5. maybe 7.5 at the most. I've come across a lot of students giving better answers without so many pauses and with better ideas.
Tomorrow my ielts test please pray for me
Good luck!

Really?? 8.5? Her lexical resources are way too basic. (“The apartment is beautiful..the view is beautiful..”)
Do native English speakers use fancy word in every sentence? Would they get a low score?
I'm an IELTS instructor from India. I bet you're from India. We Indians think that using complex words is great. It's awful to think that way. No matter how many times I tell my students, they keep on asking me for extremely difficult words.
Is it real 8.5 score ?
Tommorow is my exam please pray for me

IVE done my test today, the questions kept getting harder as we continued
I kept saying pardon
I didn’t even reach the 2 minutes in part 2
I ran out of ideas🤦🏽♀️🤦🏽♀️Jesus Christ I’m going to fail😭😭😭
Hi there, it's completely normal to feel that way, especially with the pressure of the exam. Even if you didn’t reach the full two minutes, focus on the strong parts of your performance. Many people feel unsure afterward but end up doing better than they expected. Best of luck!
@@Ieltsadvantage when I ran out of ideas I kept repeating myself because I didn’t want to sound nor look dumb😭😭I said pardon more than thrice

i got only 5.5 in overall,i'm looking for ideas or tips to improve my score. is there any suggestion to
I got an 8 and I’d say just listen to this guy’s advice, don’t look up things as “ielts vocabulary” as long as you speak clearly and get your point across you’ll get a good score. For writing try not to make spelling mistakes as that can significantly reduce your score. Listening and reading is fairly easy
