The fiber optic jammers look like they have a mass of individual fibers crimped in brass. I'm curious if they tested how well they work after taking dragonflies and junebugs at 70mph. Do the guts seep into the fibers and lower effectiveness? I imagine this design could benefit from some sort of removeable, cleanable glass or polycarbonate cover or a mount with an integrated, cleanable bug-facing lens.
Love the install but I have to say when I went into Systems Unlimited They took one look at my S class and starting quoting me 10K for a 5 head ALP set-up. Stupid expensive for even a basic 5 head system with a little customization. I installed my own ZW-5 set-up for 900 bucks and it has saved my bacon countless times against the WSP.
That's amazing Vortex thanks for sharing. You should get a front audi black grille to make it totally stealth or it can done with plastic dip or other products....
I'm in a little podunk area in Upstate NY and wish there was an installer capable of doing this level of work in my 2021 Audi A4. I imagine you paid a pretty penny for all this custom work. 💲💲💲
I bought a REDLiNE back in 2012 and have the upgraded firmware that does segmentation. I filled out the request form for service on the Escort website and they will not service or repair it, b/c it's too old. So I decided to buy a V1 Gen2 b/c I'm not going to pay $800 for something that has features I don't want or will not use. I saved $200 by purchasing the Gen2.
Congrats! Yep, you can read about the update here: www.vortexradar.com/2024/09/v1-gen2-41035-sept-2024-upgrade/ I'll be working on a video of it this week.
@@VortexRadar configured it for "little L" as you suggested in one of your previous videos. I'm using the V1 app for my iOS. Thanks for the channel... very informative.
Mount a 2nd S8-50 up front and huge improvements on Gatso and MRCT will appear. Also try the 2nd antenna 90 degrees angled, will make a difference. Greets from The Camera Eye.
Great to know and would be nice, but they only sent one, even after asking for a second several times. Interesting that you can run two fronts. Does that not confuse the arrows?
@@VortexRadar I have no arrows, I think that is for US market an for K / Ka. Not low power. You can designate the antenna for rear or front, or two front in the menu. I can tell you more but send me a pb via the "you know what" forum :)
Having recently gotten back into countermeasures after several years break, I have a couple questions about your ALP install… (1) how did you get the ALP to alert to your TSS with the car stopped, doesn’t it require GPS and a minimum speed? (2) how did you/they wire that blank button to act as a JTK switch for the ALP? If I decide to get an ALP again, I’d like a handy JTK button and knowing how to wire it in would be great.
Man I think I would then this is just me I’d probably try to figure out how to put everything in the roof rack or create a custom enclosure in the roof rack, including like dash cams and everything up there and then be able to just pop it off to fix it on a bench or move it to a different vehicle altogether.
Great vid! Amazing setup! I asked a while back about getting a dashcam installed from Systems Unlimited and you said they are over the top for that install. In our area, I live very close to you, who would you recommend for front and rear dashcam installation? Thanks!
Systems Unlimited would work. For something simpler or cheaper you can always try a Car Toys or Best Buy, but the quality of their work generally isn’t as good.
I thought it was illegal to interfere with law enforcement gear that monitors speed. I know radar jammers are illegal b/c they transmit RF. Laser shifters are legal b/c they don't transmit. But I think if you transmit light back to the LIDAR gun, that's illegal. Is this correct?
How is it that the radar detectors in the rear behind aluminum are able to pick up radar? It seems that a lot of radar detector advice revolves around keeping the radar as free from interference as possible
How's that one "cabin" camera with recording the front driver and passenger windows, for cop interactions? (and further up front side view that the side cameras mounted on the back windows don't capture)
@@VortexRadar great video, as always. With all the countermeasures shown above I assume you don't have much experience with this, but what has your experience been with being pulled over and your current setup recording it?
She’s used to it, lol, and I keep cables there for her phone. She’s also short which helps her see under dashcams up on the passenger side of the WS lol.
It just takes 1 mechanical vehicle failure to make that all worth nothing. Now you need to scale the exact same setup across multiple vehicles from different manufacturers.
A crash (knock on wood) could ruin it too. People have said that for years, but just like driving in general, it’s worth the risk. As for doing this on other vehicles, one is plenty. You’re welcome to do it on yours too lol.
Hi, Cool video! I love your video content and was wondering if you'd be interested in a collaboration. Is there any way to contact you for collaboration?
Incredible level of detail, big props to the installers, I would have a heart attack if someone came in asking for that level of install.
That's why you're not a professional 12v custom installer/integrator! Lol
We appreciate the sacrifices you have made to deliver the best testing platform possible.
You are like a mobile NSA command center! Thanks for your research and effort. Looking forward to your future videos!
that car is gonna more stealth than a b2
Spoiler. It already is.
What?
@@Theoo3zln Spoiler, it is not.
Casually building the batmobile. Thought we wouldn’t notice?

The cabin's control center looks insane, I wanna see how the shop installed everything.
Got the cabin sounding like a fighter jet cockpit lmao😂 0:16
The best countermeasure is to know when speeding is worth it or not.
Wow. Thanks for posting. Looking forward to the install video.
Cheers
At last. A real Batmobile

How much for the installation

Shrink tubing to reinforce fragile cable connectors is good but to make them bullet proof, consider using SUGRU.
They used a hardening putty similar to sugru for the TMG connectors, not heat shrink.
@@VortexRadar I wish I had an installer that good near me!
Wow!
I think that TSS you showed is more desirable then half your jammers 😂
how fast to you drive Vortex???????
The speed limit, of course.
How much in labor to install all of this ?

Oh imagine having a whole TH-cam channel based on it and twiddling your thumbs waiting for something interesting to happen lol
