Shredded lettuce is more of a big deal than people think...crispness profile goes up and well as surface area and density for oil and vinegar to hold on to.
Yess
This guy shreds
I love how passionate he is about what he is doing food looks good
I have to stop watching this when i'm already hungry... now i am craving for awesome sandwiches 🤤🤤🤤
:( all the food here looks like paradise.
You should cure a side of ham and make some bread so you can have one
This place is next level. Wish I had a place like that near me.
I agree I did not lose a thing in Oregon
I'd become clinically obese
It is amazing. By far my favorite sandwiches in Portland!
Ok, I was actually salivating when watching this just now. Fine cured pork, crusty bread and maybe some cheese is the best combo out there. Those sandwiches look amazing!
I’ve watched this show relentlessly in the past. This is definitely among the best places he’s visited. IMO.

Nice to see that he has the same toaster oven as me haha
Amazing 💜️
He had me at red wine vinegar. Next time I have a ship service in Portland, I am there.
Thank you for showing the 🌹 city some love DDD.
You would never find a sandwich like this in the UK
You have never lived until you have had the meatballs at Ikea in West London. Thing is the "meat" was recently exposed as losers from Epson and Ascot. I took the train to Willesden Junction to go there when I was living in the UK, and to this day, the outdoor look there hasn't been the same. Man, do they have some bad food in the UK. "Mexican" in Manchester serves as a runner-up to Ikea Swedish Meatballs.
“You’ve never lived until you have had” makes it seem like the “meat”balls are good??? By the rest of your comment, i’m assuming that they are not? 😂
Why wouldn't you find a sandwich such as the ones featured here? I'm native to the Central San Joaquin Valley of California, USA, which is often referred to as the world's bread basket, given the high volume and diversity of agricultural products that are produced here and exported worldwide. We also have a wonderful diversity of cuisines and artisan food products available to us here locally. Unfortunately, I have not yet had the pleasure of visiting the U.K., but I know that there are many artisan producers there, some of which are in possession of the royal warrants as their products are deemed to be of a special and/or superior quality as they have the distinct privilege of supplying the royal households.
Do you mean that one person and/or business would not create a product or series of products from the beginning to the end as this gentleman has done since he raises his own pigs, processes them himself, and then serves his end product creations to the public directly? (What this gentleman is doing is truly special as he is able to control the quality at every single stage of the process and his depth of knowledge on multiple subjects compliments the other areas of study so thoroughly and it is obvious that he is happy in his chosen field.) Or perhaps do you think that the general public would not support such a shop, nor enjoy the style of food? I'm just curious more than anything to understand you. Brits have such a reputation for preferring their "bland" food over supposedly more flavorful or "flavorsome" as I've heard the Brits say, foods, but I find that a little hard to believe given their affinities for Indian curries, which are far from bland as well as the other global cuisines brought by the multitude of immigrants over the years, which must have had some influence by now on British palates. Perhaps Americans are more willing than the British to try new things when it comes to food? What are your thoughts on the subject? Thank you in advance for your kind reply.
And that’s why I don’t live in the UK.
@@tarachristie933 Yes, I am a New Yorker. We are naturally a bit sarcastic :)
Great place. Have been there.
I live in Seattle. I think I'm overdue for a trip down to Portland.
Finally, someone out of New England who knows that it is a grinder, not a hoagy or sub.
No.
@@LordDonnington725 Yes.
@@mrbear1302 Definitely not.
@@LordDonnington725 mais oui!
Nobody wants a grinder. Give me that 3 meat sub babAy.
It would’ve been funny if they introduced Guy’s brother with a wig of guy’s signature spikey bleached hair 🤣
Grinders don’t get enough love.
Not bad prices considering the quality of the food.
Lountza, Pork loin cured usually in wine in Cyprus. Delicious in sandwiches paired with Halloumi Cheese.
I wish I had a place like this close to me
Oh lord I need a road trip!
Pig is my favourite too!!! 🇿🇲🤩❤️👍Very delicious 🤩🇿🇲🇿🇲
Congratulations 🎉 hit me to claim your prize
His favorite food - fudge!
6:00 “salsa verde pretty traditional. parsley”…😑 Bruh where’s the tomatillos
Seemed more like a pesto.
i had no idea that there were hygrometers....for meat.
I had no idea there were hygrometers.
oregons response to iberico!
Looking great
Fun Fact: Pink salt is pink because it has old bugs in it.
You piss on everything around, don't you?
Actual facts: pink mined salt's hue is from other minerals present being encapsulated by lava for millions of years as the Himalayan mountains were formed. No bugs there dude.😉🙃
Red dye #40, the most common, is derived from petroleum or coal, not bugs.
Red dye #3, hardly used anymore but still approved, is synthesized from fluorone.
Natural red dye has been made from cochineal bugs that live and feed on cactus plants. They have been raised and harvested in central America for thousands of years, once more valuable than gold by weight. They are not "old" bugs.
Your Skittles, M&M's, and other shelled candies and gum are coated in shellac, made from the lac beetle shells ( shell-lac ). Again, natural ingredient.
The pink is used to differentiate the curing salt from sodium chloride. Nitrate salts aren't to be consumed except in trace amounts, will kill you if you consume them like table salts,
Rumored many an ass-hat husband was killed by the wife using curing salts in his foods.
Por favor traducir al español.
Straight to flavortown!
Never watch this while stoned. I’m cereal
Fruit Loops or Cocoa Puffs?
@@jcwoods2311 a little of both
These are truly artisan sandwiches. Kudos.
Damn im vegetarian but those are some spicy sandwiches :D That dude knows what he`s doing.
Had me at " three kinds of meat "
I wannna be finished off with hazelnuts 😢
Ok so they finish them off with hazelnuts wouldn’t a .22 be better I mean wouldn’t have hazelnut flavor but gunpowder won’t kill you
Lonza is the ISH
Great show. Well done.
I wish Guy would have asked him what the name/brand injector he was using on the meat. We've never seen that type before.
Best Regards
Might be able to find a similar one by lookin up “industrial” or “restaurant” meat injectors. Ain’t gonna find that baby at Walmart!
No free adverts I guess.
Check out "Oklahoma Joe's Trigger Marinade Injector". Its similar to the one in the video.
0:18...that’s what she said
I’m sorry not sorry
Salsa with no chilies?
I have a pork addiction. Sounds like my kind of place.
Places like this are why i could never go vegan.
It's just a sandwich so what's makes it so damn good huh
The meat! Its all about the meat!
How come Americans pronounce the H on “HEY” but not on “HERBS” 😂😂😂
Because it’s a French word
Sounds delicious, but srsly why use the carcinogenic nitrates and nitrites? Just leave them out.
Yes,I'm pretty sure it's more for preservation, also sure if it was left out,no one would notice
I’d like to see Guy hate a sandwich for once, just throw it on the floor and walk out… maybe even spit on the chef a little 🤣🤣🤣
It looks so good wish I could taste it
Yes, and while he's walking, maybe step off the edge of a high cliff... ah, that gravelly scream as he plummets.
😂😂
😂😂. Better chance of him saying it's in the top 5 sandwiches he's ever had ....... in the past 5 diners
ATTENTION Pinoy!! Isn’t there one entrepreneur in Cebu that can try to do this?
Tastes like jaboody dubs
I ate a sandwich before.
I seriously gotta stop watching these food shows on empty stomach
This the first place I've actually seen in America that I want to go to. Looks absolutely fucking outstanding...
When does guy not say this about a sandwich he's tried?
Yeah, he's a wanker - did you just notice?
I don't like eating chemicals guys you eat it
His restaurant failed in New York it was a disgrace to the culinary community but you got to like this guy every time he reviews something he says it's tender I heard his mother overcooked everything
Frankly, I'm sick of Guy. I can't even watch Food Network anymore because all I see is Guy this and Guy that 🤪
Umm. Seems like they try every trendy thing. Many double entendre too so it's a vibe if you want.. small sandwich final plate, not sure what is so good about it here
You sound fun.😅😅😅😅😅
Me Imma make this bread and butter invisible meat
They should call it the Beta Male Cafe.
Lol if he thinks this is good he should try Seport Deli on long island
Guy would make me uncomfortable. He knows his ingredients
Can I buy online please
The guy has a Jewish name and sells pork products!! I didn’t expect that.
Maybe he's a lapsed Jew
Won’t be going to Portland ever the people should be ashamed
off topic, but i’m curious to know how guy’s health is after eating all of these delicious but not healthiest foods over these years. i know there have been some issues with some food shows because it has ultimately affected their health in a negative way.
Nitrates do it. Always try to get unpreserved and natural meat if you can, they sell bacon, hot dogs, etc. that are natural and nitrate and preservative free. If you cut down on nitrates you cut your cancer risk.
@@eddihaskell not going to deny the health risks associated with eating lots of cured meats and meat in general. However the unpreserved/uncured products you’re referring to are purely marketing gimmicks and I don’t think they’re much better at all than their traditional counterparts. Those meats are 100% cured in the same way, using nitrates. They just don’t use curing salt. They use celery powder or some other form of celery which contains nitrates.
I heard him say in interviews that when he's not filming that he and his family eat pretty healthy, a lot of veg and fish.
@@clausdicovskiy1350 I did not know that, thank you for letting me know. So my fantasies about switching to natural bacon (which does not taste as good as Oscar Meyer) and natural pork sausages are not going to let me live longer. Good to know. The one hot dog I found that taste better than anything else btw -- and advertises itself as healthy are Feltman's of Coney Island -- try them if you can find them and if you like that stuff.
@@barrywhite6060 HE has a family? Wow.
astugfirallah man wtf lol
Nothing wrong with any of this..
Guy tries to be the star of the show instead of his guests. Too cocky and overtalks them
Why is everyone so white

Totally agree!😅😅😅
Too bad Portland turned into a crap hole
I can tell guy is one of them who get into a fit when the stylists take too long with his hair, nails and make-up
You are quite clueless about the man if thats what you think.
@@matthewvanrensburg3824 than tell me if you think I'm wrong or you know him every well I have friends who friend's used to work at his restaurant and on his crew. they say he's a snob and a narcissist especially when ever he's on the set
