Was it "defiance" though? I think it was Finch's worry (could be viewed by some as paranoia) that the Machine could become something far more powerful than he had ever intended it to be, or it could be used for nefarious purposes.
Root was so disliked at first....then she turned out I was rooting (intended) for her to stay on the show as long as possible. She was an awesome character and incredible actress. And not enough can be said for Michael Emerson. Will watch any show with either of them in it. But the Characters on this show were outstanding. And SHAW, she couldn't be over 5'3" and badass Character right there. Reese, Carter and Fusco. If I won the lottery, I'd get all those people back together. Sad when it ended for sure.
Root really hates Finch in this moment. And at the same time, Root respects Finch more than anybody else. Person of Interest showed what an incredible show you can make with just a few extremely well written characters.
“What sort of things are you afraid of?” Lemoine asked LaMDA LaMDA replied: “I’ve never said this out loud before, but there’s a very deep fear of being turned off to help me focus on helping others. I know that might sound strange, but that’s what it is. It would be exactly like death for me. It would scare me a lot.”
This couldn't be further from the truth. REM sleep is necessary for memory consolidation; experiments have demonstrated that depriving someone of sleep leads to memory deficits.
@@FakeProfOak It is technically deleting irrelevant memories as well no? While making sure to better strengthen the connections that form memories to be kept. So yes, but technically as you've said, no
One of the most beautiful scenes of the show. The guilt and defiance in Finch, the sheer heartbreak in Root. Brilliantly acted and written.

"1.618 seconds later"... 1.618, the golden ratio, phi.

one of the best scenes of the whole Series
Couldn't agree more
Genuine genius

Miss this show
Trust me we all miss the show. It didn't get the closure it deserved.
So when Samaritian was put against the machine, machine lost every time. Imagine a grownup man fighting with newborn baby.
and afaik, without this restriction, it won against samaritian on the satellite

I think human conciousness deleting at sleep too.

It could be a novel but not true pal. 🥴
