    As a "patient?" in DBT I find these very helpful. I feel like this guy describes these things (which are incredibly foreign to me) is much better than my facilitators as he's much more concise and I think the graphics help a lot too. Thank you for the content!

    First video of 2021! Wishing you and anyone reading a lovely year, with the hope to feel better 👋🇫🇷 thank you as usual, I'm going right now to watch this video, full mindfulness style. Phones and screens are attention-seeker poisons, it's hard not to be attracted to them I find, killing all mindfulness.

    That's really confusing
    You have a thought that's not related to what you want to be focused on.
    Be mindful of the thought (ie think about the thought as a concept, without thinking the thought)
    Think of acknowledging the thought (ie think "hey I just thought about a car")
    Now don't actively participate with a thought, and just observe it (so think a thought without thinking it)
    In summary: think about thinking a thought without thinking the thought, until thinking about the thought while not thinking it makes the thought go away... Wtf?

    • @SelfHelpToons
      @SelfHelpToons  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      If a thought grabs your attention, just acknowledge the thought and let it go. And if it never grabs your attention, then just let it be there in the background of your awareness without acknowledging it.

      its not that confusing its like this lets say you are thinking about something that happened to you last week or a situation at work , if you can notice that you are thinking about it and getting lost in the story then as soon as you become aware of this you have in a sense broken that thought pattern. So you became aware that you were being pulled in by random thoughts and that awareness is being mindful because in reality you have a ton of random thoughts that pop into the mind that are not generated by you but are rather habitual thinking or patterns that randomly create electrical signals in the brain.so in a sense just notice and ask yourself what is my mind thinking right now ? and what story is it telling me ? hope that makes sense. Also meditation in not about stopping thoughts because that is practically impossible its more about awareness of thoughts.
