th-cam.com/channels/UbcsOw3Mm-uFRhk-Xv0kgA.html. Thank you that conformation about #26 last steaming, I tried to find up-to-date information on the locomotive and the nearest I could get suggested it had been out of use for twenty years. I'll correct my description.
@@nicholasmedovich8691 As a former volunteer I can corroborate that we DO officially own SS&S 26. The auction listing was posted by the owner's children who know nothing of the engine. The listing was misleading and we were not given any notice of it being auctioned off at all. After a legal battle and lots of digging through the archives we were able to ascertain that it should rightfully belong to us after it's owners' passing several years back. We still had to pay a large sum of money for it, but because the listing denoted it in "operational condition" we got a heavy discount. I believe the original asking price was around $50,000. We paid around $10,000. It is NOT in "operational condition" , the firebox is far too thin in several spots sand the boiler needs heavy work and the running gear is worn out as well. The last run on Jan. 1st, 2002 was actually one day over its 1472 day period and was a dangerous move.
She was the first steam locomotive I’d ever rode. I’ve always loved railroading and it all started with her. 26 even became my favorite number. I was 4 in January 2002 but I still have images of being at the NJMT on New Years Day. I miss 26 so much

@@KeithPlattsSteamAlmanac well right now we don't have steam. Steam is in storage. We are just running a green an yellow diesel an a black diesel an a small Plymouth. The railroad is still the same. We hope to have steam back one day.
Actually 26 last ran in the first of January 2002

@@KeithPlattsSteamAlmanac also 26 IIRC was bought by an actual member of NJTM. Again I’m not 100 on that. That was 3 or so years ago
