    for someone who is not very good with english, Leyendecker worded his interpretation excellently

    its not the mouthpiece anymore. its his years of experience of playing the trombone that gives him his beautiful tone

      that beautiful tone is made by the musician, not the trombone or the mouthpiece. Years of practice can make a cheap trombone sound beautiful

    The student is using an alessi model mouthpiece and horn, while the teacher is using a thein. At least I believe so, most Germans do, since thein is a German company.

      That is 100% a Kromat CL-139. Thomas Leyendecker is listed as a reference musician on their website and the instrument looks exactly like the one on the picture, the only two differences being a Hagmann- instead of an axial-valve and a larger silver rim that's decorated with shell ornaments instead of a small one. But this is exactly what the Kromat workshop was crafting the last years. I don't know if anything has changed until today.
      On any account the fine, warm, and simply beautiful sound of this gorgeous instrument is clearly recognizable! I can only say the very best about Mr. Kromat with his team and their instruments! Here's their website: www.kromatbrass.de/E-kromatbrass_de/e-kromatbrass_de.html

    what kind of mouthpiece is leyendecker using? His tone is beautiful.

      It’s not the mouthpiece that makes the trombone sound good

    Isn't this part played on Alto trombone?
    I think the top note (Eflat?) is too high and too hard to be played on tenor one.

    • @CrewsTheWildDawg
      @CrewsTheWildDawg 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      It's possible to do it on tenor.

    • @MrMinorChord
      @MrMinorChord 8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The practical ceiling for tenor trombone is considered to be G5, but some more conservative musicians will say it's D5. It all depends on the player.

      no he isn't it looks more like a German Schagerl. If it were a Michael Rath there would be the iconic 'R' on the tuning slide

    What does the 'story' have to do with how to play this music? Why do they ALWAYS chatter about this meaningless dribble?

    • @superior_nobody07
      @superior_nobody07 2 ปีที่แล้ว +10

      story of music is important, it gives the musician an understanding of what is going on in a particular piece of music, which in turns gives them an idea of how they should stylize the music. Musical story is a fundamental part of music, by understanding the idea and intent behind an excerpt, a musician can play it with the proper style.
